What, you want them to throw around your favorite number instead? How about 100 million, no? 50 million? 1 million? It's called an ESTIMATE for a reason. Short of asking everyone in America, "Hey you, are you an illegal?" what other way do you propose to count them? Do I pretend to know exactly how they come up with the figure? No. But it's safe to assume they use data from the border patrol and state and federal prisons, where you can actually get the legal status of those detained, to come up with a number using statistical analysis.

Oh but they lie too, those sinister border patrol, the whole government lies, so what's the point. Whatever figure it is, it doesn't lessen the impact of illegal immigration if that's what you're so concerned about. What 10 million is not enough for you?

The Mexicans may be the largest group of Hispanics that advocate "reconquista" and separatism from becoming real Americans like most immigrants in past generations did, but unfortunatley they are not the only ones.
