Maybe you can show where the law was rescinded or where it expired. If neither of these events occurred, it's still law.

People are getting confused between simple U.S. citizenship and a far more stringent requirement -- reserved only for President and VP -- of "natural born citizen" and that's where the confusion seems to be arising.

Perkins v Elg (1939) is still the gold standard in describing "natural born citizen" -- it's good law, it brings the historic deVattel definition adopted by our Constitution forward into the 20th century; it can be shepardized up to the present date to show it has not been limited or overturned by any authoritative court decision. And if anyone needs to know what "shepardizing a case" means, just ask.

This thread is becoming absolutely exhausting, so crammed with the what-ifs as premises for many of the theories re Obama's citizenship or lack thereof. And the supposition of conspiracy theories to hide the facts is starting to equal the Roswell alien spaceship crash.

And if it turns out in the end, that he was born in Hawaii to an American mother, it's all moot. I can't wait to see the magazine at the checkstand, I will watch for it.

It's to be hoped that it wakes people up, seeing that blaring headline, and that they start asking questions. I hope that we NEVER see this kind of situation again in this country. To have let political parties be in charge of screening for eligibility has been pure folly.

On the NBC issue, I've laid out links to authoritative reading material on the law. People are free to reach conclusions. The only conclusion that would count would be the one coming from a Court.

Obots (those who blindly follow Obama without a clue as to who he really is and what he represents) can continue to parrot false hoods they hear or read on liberal/progressive web sites, but it will not change the facts regarding Obama's birth. Tune out those distractions and stay focused.

Also, when he visited Indonesia in 1981, if Barry Soetoro a.k.a. Barack Obama renounced his U.S. citizenship after the age of majority to resume his Indonesian citizenship and renew his childhood Indonesian passport for his trip to Pakistan, then he ceased to be a U.S. citizen and became an Indonesian citizen, an illegal alien in the U.S..

But I do not believe he became an Indonesian citizen again in 1981. Until I see a U.S. State Dept. or Dept. of Defense travel advisory banning travel to Pakistan in 1981, I believe he traveled to Pakistan legitimately on his U.S. passport.

[Feb. 10, 2014 - Barry Soetoro could more easily have traveled in west or northwest Pakistan with an Indonesian passport than with a "radioactive", so to speak, U.S. passport. However, in his "bumming around" days, Barry would have diligently avoided making an expensive, unnecessary side trip to Jakarta, Indonesia, or renouncing his U.S. citizenship, which possibly could come back to bite him later. Through his Karachi friends in high places, he might have readily acquired fake Pakistan papers and stored his U.S. passport with them until he needed it to return to the states - purportedly to Columbia Univ. in New York, where no one in the class of '83 ever met him.]
