Ron Paul Dodges Neocons In Video Game

Gamers can expect an “epic” encounter between Ron Paul and Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke in "Ron Paul, The Road to Revolution."

Ron Paul may soon join the ranks of Mario and Luigi if one liberty-minded game designer is successful in bringing the candidate’s Revolution to the world of video gaming.

Daniel Williams, 27, of Houston said he wanted to use his love of video games to educate young people about Paul’s political message.

Though the game, “Ron Paul, The Road to Revolution,” appears to be more fun than educational, it does have some Paul-centric themes: Traveling through the political landscape of the United States, the Paul character grabs gold coins (sound money) and visits each branch of the Federal Reserve Bank while dodging neocons. The designer also said gamers could expect an “epic” encounter between Paul and Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke.

According to Raw Story, the game should be available for play free on the Internet by July.



Maybe now Paul will be able to defeat the Fed once and for all.

From Nevada, scene of a contentious 2008 battle between the state GOP establishment and Ron Paul supporters, more signs of the rising sophistication — and political maturation — of the Texas congressman’s base.

From the Las Vegas Review-Journal:

Four years ago, James Smack grabbed the microphone at the Nevada Republican Party Convention to lead a revolt by Ron Paul supporters.

That attempt to take over the convention failed when the GOP convention chairman shut the 2008 meeting down.

Today, Smack is acting chairman of the Nevada Republican Party and among the vanguard of Paul backers methodically taking over the state and county parties from within. They’ve been promoting both the Texas congressman’s ideas and his GOP presidential campaign.

“I’m a Republican first who happens to support Ron Paul,” Smack said. “I want to get a more libertarian, conservative voice in the party. I want to make sure we have a voice at the table.”
And a lot of votes. Paul delegates elected at county conventions across Nevada plan a show of force next month at the state convention, where they hope to be elected as delegates to the national convention. The state convention is scheduled for May 4-5 in Sparks.

Nevada isn’t the only state where Paul supporters are diligently working from within the system, either moving to take over the state party or establish a beachhead. In Iowa, Paul’s state vice chair was elected chairman of the state GOP in February. Paul backers in Maine have also been busy and the Georgia blog, Peach Pundit, similarly finds evidence of organizing long after primary day.

It’s not exactly a new practice – supporters of insurgent candidates including Pat Robertson and Howard Dean, among others, followed a similar path. If their experiences are any guide, there will be a lot of blood spilled and, invariably, views that once seemed out of the party mainstream will suddenly begin to get a much more serious airing.

Ron Paul Statement on Tax Freedom Day

“My ultimate goal remains to repeal the 16th Amendment and end the tyranny of the IRS once and for all.” – Ron Paul

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – Texas Congressman and Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul issued the following statement regarding today being Tax Freedom Day, the day when average Americans finally stop working to pay federal, state, and local taxes.

Below please find comments from Congressman Paul:

“Knowing that every penny the average American has earned from January 1^st until today has gone to pay federal, state, or local taxes is a frightening reminder of how much liberty modern Americans have lost. Unfortunately, even after Tax Freedom Day, Americans will still suffer from the Federal Reserve’s regressive and hidden inflation tax, which erodes their purchasing power for the benefit of big banks and big-spending politicians.

“As a Congressman, I have never voted to raise taxes or increase spending, which is why I have consistently been named one of the top ‘Taxpayers’ Best Friends’ in Congress by the non-partisan National Taxpayers Union. As President, I will work to reduce the burden of taxes and spending on the American people by passing my ‘Plan to Restore America.’

“This Plan not only cuts $1 trillion in the first year of my administration and balances the budget by the third year, but it provides much-needed tax relief to the American people. It does this by permanently extending the Bush-era tax rates, lowering the corporate tax rate to 15 percent, allowing American companies to repatriate capital without paying additional taxes, abolishing the death tax, and ending all taxes on personal savings.

“My ‘Plan to Restore America’ also begins to free the American people from the inflation tax by conducting a full audit of the Federal Reserve and legalizing competing currencies. These simple steps will allow the American people to at last learn the truth about how the Fed is working to prop up big banks at the expense of average Americans’ standard of living and then to take the appropriate actions to protect themselves and their families.

The Ron Paul Revolution: Not Televised, But Alive and Well

If you’re reading this blog post right now, there are a few things I can safely assume about you. Firstly, you are probably very intelligent! It’s also likely that you get at least a decent portion of your news from the internet, whether it’s alternative news sources like The Huffington Post or The Drudge Report or various forms of social media such as Twitter and Facebook. This is commonplace for every advertiser’s favorite demographic, the beloved “18-34″‘s. It’s easy for us to forget there is still a large portion of the populace whose primary news source is the so-called “Mainstream Media” (MSM). For those that fall into this category, there is probably no doubt that the general election this coming November will be between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. After all, now that Rick Santorum has suspended his campaign, there is nothing to stop Romney from seizing the nomination…right?

Well, not exactly. While it’s true that Romney has a large lead in the delegate count, the numbers that the MSM is using are largely guesses. Many states do not bind their delegates based on the ‘straw poll’ results, and in many of those states Romney will likely not be getting the delegates the MSM is assuming he will. For one example we can look at Iowa, where CNN is reporting that Santorum, Paul, and Romney are each getting 7 delegates , while giving Gingrich 2. They are basing these results on the Iowa Straw Paul, in which Santorum, Paul and Romney essentially tied for first, while Gingrich finished a distant fourth. However, these numbers are irrelevant. Like with many other caucus states, Iowa does not bind it’s delegates based on the straw vote. Instead, delegates are determined through a series of conventions at the local, county and state level. It is the delegates elected from this process that eventually go on to the GOP Convention in Tampa and vote for their nominee for President. The body that elects these national delegates in Iowa recently voted A.J. Spiker, the former head of Ron Paul’s Iowa campaign, as the new head of the state Iowa State GOP. Do we really think that this same body is only going to send 7 Ron Paul delegates to Tampa?

For the MSM to report delegates based on the straw vote is either a sinister deception or simple lack of good journalism, both of which would be equally easy to believe.
