If Ron Paul is to be President

Submitted by holbrook on Sat, 07/14/2012 - 10:24

It must be by the power of Almighty God!

I know there are a great many here who believe in the power of prayer unto Him who alone can move mountains and still the raging storm. He changes the times and the seasons and does whatsoever He wills.

Oh Lord God of heaven and earth and all that is therein, hear our cry for mercy, and deliverance, and righteous judgment.

Chasten us O Lord, but not to destruction of that which You have so graciously given us.

We call upon Thee for help as You have told us to do. Help us Lord, help us in Jesus' name we pray.

    UPDATES

    - Pre-Convention Skype call from Ron Paul: dr paul speaking at nebraska liberty caucus, dr paul calling in on skype suriyahfish on USTREAM. Politics

    - One out of state person said they were not allowed in because they weren't a "Nebraska Republican." Wondering what this means for the Fish sister's live stream.

    - Looks like the Fish sister live stream was able to set up ok
    - Call to Order. It begins.
    - Mayor's (might have been governor, not sure) speech says delegates need to elect Romney. Other speeches follow same request.
    - Credentials Report: total: 323 delegates, 148 alternates (motions to amend are being heard) Initial indication is that we represent about 42% of the delegation, but this is not confirmed.
    - Motion to amend Dodge County delegates being voted on. (we want this motion/amendment to pass) Tensions already. Chair doesn't look happy. Motion failed 147-200.
    - Motion to strike rule 8 (Nays have it, division called) Motion failed.
    - CD delegate voting begins. 2 members representing each candidate will oversee the counting. Romney has a slate. We will find out if we were able to sway any Santorum/Gingrich supporters our way with this vote. We alone don't have a majority.
    - Ballots are now being counted. Results are coming in for CD. Paul secured 2 of 9 CD delegates. AL voting begins

In a joint statement from Mark Fahleson and Laura Ebke, it states that "The RLCNE will discourage those wishing to attend the NEGOP Convention for the purpose of intimidation, agitation or monitoring from attending." I really hope that by "monitoring" they don't mean live streaming or checking if the voting machines counts are accurate. (See: http://www.dailypaul.com/243939/peace-treaty-proposed-with-n...)

A number potential delegates had indicated a hesitance about running for national because of the financial commitment. The more you can help out, the more will be able to go to Tampa. Of course there's also the cost of Parliamentarians. Remember, the more $ received PAST the goal, the more Parliamentarians can help and ensure that our delegates have the funds needed to get to Tampa. https://secure.piryx.com/donate/u475...NE/conventions

    Miscellaneous/Tips
    :

    1
. The Night Owl NOPEN-4GB-B Executive Camera Pen records good video and audio (about 1 1/2 hours worth) in case stealth recording is needed. I have one myself.

    2. Have things like a speaker and microphone ready in case of another parking lot convention.

    3
. For NEBRASKA: The Speech I didn't get to give in Iowa http://www.dailypaul.com/243560/for-nebraska-the-speech-i-di...

    4
Nebraska GOP BYLAWS state in ARTICLE XII Section 2. RULES. At all meetings herein provided, “Roberts Rules of Order Newly Revised” shall govern the procedure.

    5
From my own state convention experience, COMMUNICATION is key. If anyone there has a smart phone that can send group text messages, have that person gather all the Paul people's cell numbers that attend and group text them at the convention whenever something needs to be conveyed to everyone.

    6
Know how many Pro-Paul delegates show up. You'll never know if the voting machines are rigged unless each county/district/whatever knows that there should be, for example, 10 people voting for a Paul delegate, but only 5 are recorded.

    7
With the exception of what the word "monitoring" can be construed as, the agreement between Fahleson and Ebke is a good thing ESPECIALLY since it was Ebke who was the one to propose it. She who offers the olive branch first is looked upon most favorably. (See: http://www.dailypaul.com/243939/peace-treaty-proposed-with-n...)

    8
Swaying the non-Paul delegates may be as simple as pointing out Romney's "Repeal and Replace" of Obamacare, and focus on the "Replace." Replace with what? Romneycare? Anything at all will just be an appeasement to the Liberals and huge hike in our taxes.

Bush’s Specter Casts Shadow Over Romney

    Tim Sloan/AFP/Getty Images

The ties between Mitt Romney and the old GOP guard of George W. Bush just became a bit stronger.

Though some of his advisers are veterans of the Bush administration, Romney has tried to distance himself from the former president, whose toxic approval ratings would threaten to drag down the candidate. Bush didn’t even offer to support Romney until we caught up with him in an elevator in May.

As far as we know, Romney and Bush have spoken only once during the campaign — in the days after that fleeting endorsement, by phone.

But now Romney is painting himself with Bush’s war colors.

At a fundraiser with Dick Cheney, Romney earned ebullient praise from the former vice president, who is even less popular than Bush. And after the press had been kicked out of the room, Romney was overheard mentioning “George W. Bush” and “freedom agenda.” He didn’t so much as drop Bush’s name during the part of the fundraiser.

Want more off-the-cuff politics? Check out OTUSon Facebookand follow us on Twitter@OTUSNews.

Working down the line of succession, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has made her way into Romney’s circle too. In a rousing red-meat speech, Rice struck partisan tones in front of Romney donors behind closed doors at a retreat last month.

Teeing off her enthusiastic reception, someone floated her name as a possible running mate to the right-leaning Drudge Report aggregation site, the main driver of news on the Internet.

It’s unlikely that Rice would actually be on the ticket (for one, she’s not anti-abortion), but even for her name to be mentioned suggests that the Romney and Bush circles are overlapping more than ever.

This Is The Most Disastrous Poll Ever For Mitt Romney

    Brett LoGiurato|Jul. 12, 2012, 2:38 PM

    AP

The new poll from the Pew Research Center is, plain and simple, the worst yet for Mitt Romney.
Not only has President Barack Obama expanded his overall lead from 4 points to 7 points, he also leads on almost every individual issue, including the economy and jobs.

Overall, Obama beats Romney on 11 of the 12 issues, including some of the most crucial ones:

This is Obama's biggest lead in the Pew survey since March, when he held a 12-point lead.

Obama now has a 6-point lead in the economy category, a total swing from last month, when Romney led by 8 points on the issue. The only issue on which the public prefers Romney — albeit by a wide margin — is improving the federal budget deficit.

Also key: Obama's job approval rating has reached the magic number of 50 percent, which many political observers think is a minimum barometer for Obama to win re-election.

Doug Wead: All Eyes on Nebraska
All eyes are on Grand Island, Nebraska today. Will it be a Soviet style fraud? Or will it be a real convention? Today’s event will be telling. It will provide clues on what to expect at the Republican National Convention in Tampa next month.

This is clear, what happens in Nebraska cannot be blamed on the Nebraska governor, or the strong arm privately financed army he has hired to muscle the masses of people into line. Nor can it be blamed on Mitt Romney’s mean spirited campaign team, the same losers who ran Bob Dole and John McCain’s campaigns, whose motto is “only us.”

No, today’s activities will be a clear reflection of how Mittens himself sees the Ron Paul insurgency. And how he will handle it in Tampa.

By now, even the most obtuse politico, at the most isolated, rarified level, would have seen the youtubes of people’s bones being broken in his name and of his own privately hired off duty police arresting people.

By now he knows that his captains have confiscated the delegate rolls and run out to parking lots and locked them up in their trunks to make it impossible for roll call votes.

He knows that they have ignored voice votes and brazenly declared “Nays have it,” when they didn’t. He knows that his people have had to move money out of GOP accounts to keep it out of the hands of the new, duly elected state chairman, who support Ron Paul.

So what happens today in Nebraska is Mitt Romney’s show. He is responsible. If it happens orderly and fairly? Hey wonderful. We should be very grateful. Mitt Romney, Obama’s Goldman Sachs twin candidate, has agreed to let the peasants play at democracy for a few hours.

But if Mittens is so frightened, so worried about that piggy bank, the Federal Reserve, that he cannot allow the Ronluans to have even a handful of their own duly elected delegates in Nebraska, that they must all be personally approved by the candidate, himself, well then we will all know that he will not tolerate a challenge to the “wars without end” nor to the raiding of the poor and middle class.

If there is violence against Ron Paul supporters, as in the past, Romney and his governor can count on the national media – whose holding companies and advertisers are fattened off of the Federal Reserve – to turn look away. But stay tuned. The internet is not yet shut down. The videos will be coming any second now and we will all get to see the truth.

Ron Paul: Romney campaign scared to let me speak at GOP convention

Submitted by DeMolay on Sat, 07/14/2012 - 15:19
    Daily Paul Liberty Forum

Rep. Ron Paul said that the Republican Party is scared to let him speak at the national convention in Florida next month.

The Texas Republican candidate for president said he thinks the prospects of him having the Tampa platform to energize his “Ronvolution” movement of supporters — who buck traditional GOP staples such as war funding and are in favor of more radical ideas such as auditing the Federal Reserve — intimidates some in the Republican leadership, including former Gov. Mitt Romney’s (R-Mass.) campaign.

“I think the Romney campaign organization is very insecure,” said Paul in an interview with Fox Business News on Friday.

We very well could still have a brokered convention!

For those of you discouraged by today's results in Nebraska, I would like to share some very interesting developments with you about the Delegates/Alternates V. The RNC Lawsuit.

    I quote from Richard Gilbert:

"Our plan is working! I have confirmed Rick Santorum will inform his delegates he is following our case and he will re-enter the race if the Judge rules our way. Santorum will peel votes from Romney and help pull Romney down below 1144 helping to blaze the trail for Dr Paul to takeover the convention!"

Taken from the facebook group located at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/LawyersforRonPaul/

He also tweeted: "Our Plan is working very well. Rick Santorum is writing to his delegates. He is following our case and will re-enter the race if we win"

Which can be found here about half way down the page: https://twitter.com/USA_Free_Press

So, I ask you to not be discouraged today, but rather to keep fighting. Let's put some pressure on the judge to make the right decision and not let evil and corruption prevail. Together we can do great things!

Romney's Tax Returns Lost Him The VP Slot To Palin In 2008; He is Simply Unelectable

Not only did Mitt Romney lose to John McCain in 2008, he is also a guy who competed with Sarah Palin for the vice presidential nomination in 2008. And lost. I mean how bad do you have to be to lose out to Sarah Palin? http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/07/12/1108891/-Mitt-Romne...

Why did McCain choose Palin over Romney? He saw Mitt's tax returns

The Campaign thought that Mitt Romney's tax returns would be too damaging to John McCain if he was picked to share the Republican ticket in 2008: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/07/13/1109574/-Gov-O-Mall...

So...If Mitt Romneys tax returns were too damaging to win him a VP slot in 2008, how in the world does he expect to receive the GOP nomination, much less actually beat Obama? He can't. He won't.
