SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- One of the nation's top credit rating agencies said Friday that it expects more municipal bankruptcies and defaults in California, the nation's largest issuer of municipal bonds.

Moody's Investors Service said in a report that the growing fiscal distress in many California cities was putting bondholders at risk.

Mothers To Regulators: We Will Not Comply!


Risking Jail to Defend Peaceful Voluntary Exchange

August 16, 2012-Washington, DC (Business Wire)—On August 18, 2012 a group of mothers and others, members of the advocacy groups, the Raw Milk Freedom Riders and Lemonade Freedom Day, will take their raw milk and lemonade to the lawn of the US Capitol to celebrate their right to “voluntary exchange.”

By offering raw milk and lemonade for sale or barter, which is illegal in many places including Washington DC, these mothers and other activists risk criminal charges, and possibly jail. Last August, in a similar protest, three people were arrested for selling 10-cent cups of lemonade.

The lemonade stands and raw milk tasting booths will be set up on the mall at 12:00 noon on the lawn of the Capitol reflecting pool. The approximate location is around 3rd Street Southwest between Maryland and Jefferson in Washington DC.

“The law has turned ordinary people into criminals for engaging in normal human behavior,” says Liz Reitzig, one of the event’s organizers. “I am proud to stand with others as we peacefully do not comply with these laws.”

National Lemonade Freedom Day founder, Robert Fernandes, began his annual event after seeing news reports about children’s lemonade stands being shut down because they did not comply with regulations. “The government has overstepped its boundaries by trying to regulate kids’ lemonade stands and farmers who are feeding their communities. We have the right to engage in voluntary exchange and peacefully obtain the food of our choice from the producer of our choice whether that’s raw milk from a local farmer or lemonade from the children next door without input from regulators.”

Joining the group will be Kristin Canty, director of the critically acclaimed documentary Farmageddon — The Unseen War on American Family Farms. “It is so sad that the Government is abusing its power by conducting armed raids on small farms. They are criminalizing farmers for feeding their communities and criminalizing mothers for trying to feed their families healthy food,” Canty says.

RNC: Ron Paul delegates not welcome in Tampa

Remember all of those hard fought victories? Thousands of people who gave up their time and money to attend precinct caucuses? And then faced coordinated attacks at District and County Conventions, where threatened establishment Party hacks had hired thugs ready to arrest them?

Sometimes the very new Country Chairman, duly elected to replace them?

Remember all of that?

And we won some of those battles and people were saying, don’t be a defeatist Doug, we can still win enough states to get him nominated in Tampa and thus galvanize the nation behind his message. And they were right if it had been fair and it had happened naturally but there was always this, that the cheating that was experienced on a local level, often happens at the national level too and so we have come to that moment, the one that I have been warning you about.

Here is the message coming out of Headquarters tonight:

The Committee on Contests recently issued a ruling on the establishment’s challenge to Ron Paul’s delegates and alternates who were duly elected in Maine, and on our challenges to the outright cheating that occurred in Louisiana, Massachusetts, and Oregon (alternates only).

Despite Ron Paul’s supporters being so clearly in the right in these four states, the establishment is so far refusing to rule fairly and seat our duly elected delegates and/or alternates.

Here’s a brief summary of the bogus challenge made by the GOP establishment against us in Maine, as well as our challenges to the cheating that occurred elsewhere:

In Maine, where Ron Paul supporters held a clear majority at the State Convention, the establishment is attempting to unseat the state’s duly elected delegates and alternates – acting like sore losers in the process. The challenge to our delegates in Maine is so bogus that Republican Governor Paul LePage – who is one of the few delegates not being challenged by the establishment – has declared he will not attend the Republican National Convention unless Ron Paul’s delegates and alternates who were duly elected are seated;

In Louisiana, establishment “big wigs” used threats, intimidation, and force – literally smashing the bones of one gentleman – to shut out Ron Paul supporters who had a clear majority at the State Convention;

In Oregon, the State Chairman blatantly ignored the votes of the Convention, taking it upon himself to replace the duly elected alternate delegates with an “appointed” slate chocked-full of establishment cronies;

In Mitt Romney’s home state of Massachusetts, corrupt Party officials changed the rules after the game was over – kicking out Ron Paul’s duly elected delegates and alternates and replacing them with their hand-picked cronies.

As you can see, the Old Guard establishment doesn’t care about cheating, lying, abuse of process, and high-handedness in our Party.

All they seem to care about is maintaining their iron grip over the Republican Party.

But Ron Paul’s number-one goal for the RNC is making sure his delegates and alternates who deserve to be seated in Tampa are credentialed.

So if the establishment wants a fight in Tampa, rest assured we’re going to give them one.

Currently, our campaign lawyers and staff are furiously working to analyze and craft the appropriate response to the Committee’s rulings, and we’ll be sure to keep you informed as we move forward in the process.

And believe me, we will not sit idly by and watch the establishment run roughshod over Ron Paul’s supporters who were illegally railroaded by the GOP.

We will stand up and fight for all of Ron Paul’s delegates and/or alternates in these four states – and we will not back down.

Of course, one would think the Romney campaign would want these conflicts resolved so they didn’t become major issues at the Convention.

But so far they’ve sat idly by on the sidelines.

Hopefully they’ll change their do-nothing approach once they realize we’re serious about going all-out to win these credentials battles.

And remember, nearly 90 major media outlets have already reserved a spot at our “We are the Future Rally.”

So if the GOP goes through with these bogus challenges, they won’t be able to hide behind their iron curtain. They will be exposed by the press.

The good news is, the Committee on Contests’ ruling is not the final word in this fight.

The battle will be decided by the Credentials Committee in Tampa – where we are very organized and prepared to take action.

As the battle rages on over the next two weeks, I’ll be sure to keep you updated on our progress and any new developments that occur along the way.

When Ron Paul Supporters Are Listed As Terrorists and the Social Security Administration is Buying Up Loads of Ammo You Know You Live in a Police State


After the horrific events of 9/11, we were told that the cave-dwelling evil doers murdered over 3,000 of our fellow citizens because they hated our freedoms. America's culture and prosperity were to blame. President George W. Bush drew the line in the sand: you're either with us or against us. Logic and reason were replaced with sensationalized nationalism as we embarked on a war against an idea: a War on Terror.

Unfortunately, we looked to the government to protect us, when it was the failure of the government in the first place that invited those terrorists attacks. The mishandling of intelligence leading up to September 11, the failure of the FAA to disarm the box-cutter wielding freedom-haters, and the years of overseas interventionism for the benefit of the military industrial complex are just a few of the real explanations we didn't hear from the Bush regime. As 27 year ex-CIA analyst Ray McGovern said, the most charitable explanation for 9/11 was "gross negligence."

Over 10 years later, we are still engaged in the "war on terror." Presidential reality show contestants Barack Obama and Mitt Romney have been rather silent regarding Afghanistan. They continue to distract voters with the "My Plan vs. His Plan" routine while our soldiers continue to die for nothing, unless guarding poppy fields is worth a few dead soldiers. The two candidates don't seem too concerned for our "war on terror" veterans, who set a record for Army suicides in July.

In reality, the "war on terror" isn't a battle between America and some bearded Muslims in caves. Yes, there are terrorists who wish to do us harm as a result of our foreign policy. But, the real war on terror involves the American people and their opposition to the tyrannical actions of the United States federal government.

Terrorism is defined as the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims.

Every Tuesday, when he's not at a fundraiser or campaign event, Obama reviews his secret "kill list." When questioned by the House on whether this executive killing power applies to U.S. citizens at home -- not just those abroad like American-born Muslim cleric Anwar Al Awlaki -- FBI Director Robert Mueller said he would "have to check" and deferred other questions to the Department of Justice. Obama also officially authorized support for the Syrian rebels, which includes Al-Qaeda. This action is analogous to our destabilization campaign in Libya, which allowed Al-Qaeda to gain a foothold in Gaddafi's former sovereign nation.

After inheriting and reauthorizing the Bush regime's despotic PATRIOT Act, Obama signed the NDAA, which authorizes indefinite detention of American citizens. Now, his attorney's are refusing to acknowledge whether or not these powers have been applied after an injunction by a federal judge. If so, the United States government could be held in contempt of court.

Thanks to Wikileaks, we now know that government agencies like the Department of Homeland Security and military industrial complex all-stars Lockheed Martin and Raytheon have colluded to implement a massive surveillance network: Trapwire. All for our saftey, I'm sure.

When DHS head Janet Napolitano and other top female officials aren't asking their male counterparts "how long is it anyway?", they find the time to order well over a billion rounds of ammo in the last 6 months alone. When these orders of hollow tip ammunition caused a ruckus, DHS went back and redacted several sections of those orders. The Social Security Administration and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration are also interested in purchasing large quantities of ammunition. All this police state activity, including the 20,000 drones and the "enhanced patdowns" from the TSA, is just to keep us safe, right?

Clearly the United States federal government is preparing for something. If these draconian measures are being implemented by our "homeland" security officials, then domestic terrorists must be the new enemy. DHS-funded START published a report citing Americans "everent of individual liberty" as extreme right-wing terrorists. DHS has also pointed out Ron Paul supporters as potential terrorists in the 2009 MIAC report. And if you believe that the United States went bankrupt by going off the gold standard, the FBI considers you an extremist. To be clear, the majority of Paul supporters adhere to the non-agression principle and non-violent civil disobedience.

Former Obama foreign policy advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski stated before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in 2007 that Bush's war on terror was a "mythical and historcial narrative." This "mythical narrative" has been used to fulfill the Project for the New American Century's goal of promoting global American leadership. Section V of PNAC's Rebuilding America's Defenses, entitled "Creating Tomorrow's Dominant Force," includes the sentence: "Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor." I agree with Lupe Fiasco in his assertion that the "war on terror is a bunch of bullshit."

While major U.S. banks are being told to prepare for collapse, our beloved bureaucrats in Washington, D.C., have been making plans of their owns. Plans that, evidently, involve terrorizing the American people instead of protecting our borders from a Russian nuclear submarine.
