I've been in Tampa since Sunday, & served on the Platform Cmte, which adjourned yesterday. Today,for hours, I worked on my article for Freedomoutpost about the platform. Then, I checked my email to see what was happening & my husband sent me this. We ARE going to have a brokered convention! I'll keep you posted, BUT, while we're in the Sundome & Whiskey Joes, with Ron, the cards will be collapsing while the delegates run from Romney. "They" will count on us not being organized, but we will!

I haven't looked at this yet - but essentially says "a weak and distrusted Romney cannot win..." They're citing Rule 38 - and asking to nominate Palin on the first ballot.

Another letter from some God-fearing group in the mail as well, supporting Palin...

The GOOD part of this is, that there is an increased awareness of the possibility that Delegates can vote their conscience/be unbound.

I dont know if any of this is true ... all I know is my standard for POTUS is FAR above any of Mitt Romneys ability to reach

I will not now or in the future vote for this man .. ever ... ever ever. The 3 dollars to pay for the gas to get to the polling place is far too valuable in comparison .. this is what the fraud perputrated by the GOP, the RNC and the Mitt Romney campaign has done...

It solidified the "I will never vote for a cheater no matter the cost"

Buzz Feed - TAMPA, Florida — The Republican National Committee's Rules Committee voted to require written certification that a presidential candidate has a plurality of delegates from five states in order to get a space on the convention ballot — a move intended to provide a warning in the event of floor movement toward an insurgent candidate.

Tennessee committeeman John Ryder push the rules change to eliminate "distractions" on the convention floor, in an effort to "try to create a more streamlined convention procedure, that better reflects the realities," he said.

"The focus is to get away from some of the residue of the 19th century," he added.

TAMPA, Florida — The Republican National Committee's Rules Committee voted to require written certification that a presidential candidate has a plurality of delegates from five states in order to get a space on the convention ballot — a move intended to provide a warning in the event of floor movement toward an insurgent candidate.

Tennessee committeeman John Ryder push the rules change to eliminate "distractions" on the convention floor, in an effort to "try to create a more streamlined convention procedure, that better reflects the realities," he said.

"The focus is to get away from some of the residue of the 19th century," he added.

Ryder also proposed raising the threshold for inclusion on the ballot from winning a plurality of 5 states to 10 states, a thinly-veiled move to make it harder for an insurgent candidate like Ron Paul to come up for a vote at the convention. Paul has urged his supporters not to disrupt Romney's nomination, but his delegates have also bitterly battled Romney supporers for tickets to Tampa.

"Unless you've got a real contest, where you have two candidates or three candidates who actually have a mathematical chance of winning, then why do we want to go through the exercise," Ryder said.

"It's not an intent to block a specific candidate," Ryder said when asked about Paul, but said it's meant to prevent a future candidate who wins between 5 and 10 states from earning a spot on the ballot.

The threshold change was rejected by the rules committee after the loud objections by Ron Paul supporters and by committee-people from states with significant Paul contingents, but the notification requirement made the party's rules.

This is from mainstream media, so take that for what it's worth and PLEASE be careful.

ABC News: - TAMPA - A big factor during the RNC is the potential for a large number of arrests. In anticipation, in an unprecedented move, Hillsborough County jail officials announced one facility is completely cleared and essentially reconstructed just for the Republican National Convention.
The man in charge, Colonel Jim Previtera, took charge as he walked us through the Orient Road Jail. The colonel began in the carport, where, he said, "The inmates will be unloaded, they will be searched and walked through a metal detector which has been added for this event."

The entire facility has been transformed. At around noon Wednesday, the last of the inmates, excluding a dozen or so trustees prepared to handle cooking and cleaning duties, were moved out to nearby Falkenburg Road Jail. Anyone arrested during the RNC will be brought to Orient Road Jail.

CNN: Agencies warn of possible anarchist activity at conventions

Washington (CNN) -- Law enforcement officials are concerned about possible violence by anarchist extremists at the upcoming Republican and Democratic national conventions, according to an intelligence bulletin prepared by the FBI and Department of Homeland Security.

The bulletin, which was obtained by CNN, says that anarchists could try to use improvised explosive devices.

It also says that, as of March, the FBI had intelligence indicating individuals from New York "planned to travel to Tampa and attempt to close" all of the Tampa Bay-area bridges during the Republican National Convention next week.
