10 dead, 20 injured in shooting at Oregon community college

Oh puleeze. I have to explain the 4th Amendment to you?!

There was no probable cause to search these students. It's doesn't matter whether it's a mass murder, a single murder, a robbery or what it is. Government authorities do not have the right to kidnap you on a bus, haul you to a detention center, tell you to line up with arms raised and frisk, search or inspect you or your belongings without probable cause. There were witnesses to the shooting, there was 1 shooter, the police killed him, and sure, there may be some other suspect out there, but that doesn't give police the right to search en masse 3000 other students without probable cause relating to them individually.

No, they do not have to do whatever they think is "necessary". In fact, the 4th Amendment PROTECTS Americans from "whatever a cop thinks is necessary". This is not a police state, this is the United States of America where our laws and Constitution protect US citizens from being kidnapped by police, forced onto buses, hauled to detention areas, ordered around like POW's, and searched without probable cause.

I'm really shocked you didn't already know this.

Judy, it's not that I don't know what the 4th Amendment to our U.S. Constitution is. It's that you completely ignore the fact that there was actual probable cause that amazes me! Furthermore, temporary detention and searches of possible suspects for the safety of the public is not kidnapping. Yes, they are all potential suspects until a preliminary investigation is completed. For example, let's say a bank is being robbed and there are 30 hostages. What happens if those 30 hostages are all released by the bank robbers at one time? You know as well as I that they will all be detained, searched, and interviewed before they are released. An investigation is absolutely necessary to ascertain all the facts and to make sure none of them were involved.

I repeat, there was probable cause and your disagreement on that fact is absurd!

What they are refusing to tell the readers and listeners is that this killer shot Christians in the face and let those that denied Christ off with a wounding in most cases!

If these reports are correct, Christopher Harper Mercer was in there systematically executing only the Christians that would continue to identify Christ as their lord and savior even after seeing someone else get shot in the face for answering that question truthfully!

These media reports are omitting.. hiding.... omission lying... about the targeting and execution of Christians on US soil!

Okay, they've interviewed the father. He has an accent, British or Australian, sounds more like the latter, but since the other report said the shooter was born in England, maybe British.

Also, CNN is reporting this morning that it's 10 dead, counting the shooter, and 7 wounded not 20. Some of the 7 maybe critical, so lets pray for them to make it.

Also, keep an eye out for this "authorities report" about the guns, authorities say they found 3 hand guns and 1 long gun at the scene, yet an eye witness in the room with the shooter said he did not have a long gun, he only had 1 hand gun and reloaded it when he needed to. The long gun report first came from a male caller to 911 who said there was a report of a long gun. Yet there was no long gun. So how do authorities find a long gun and 3 hand guns at the scene, when there was only 1 hand gun used according to an eye witness in the room during the shooting?

ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) — The latest on the deadly shooting Thursday at a community college in Oregon (all times local):
2:10 p.m.

A student at the Oregon community college where a mass shooting occurred says the gunman shot her teacher and asked others in her classroom about their religion before spraying more bullets.

Eighteen-year-old Kortney Moore of Rogue River tells theRoseburg News-Review newspaper that she was in a writing class at Umpqua (UHMP'-kwah) Community College in Roseburg on Thursday when a shot came through a window.

The gunman entered her classroom and told people to get on the ground.

Moore says the man started asking people to stand up and state their religion and then opened fire.

The shooting left 13 people dead and at least 20 injured.

Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin says authorities responded and exchanged gunfire with the man. He says the shooter died at the scene, but he didn't say whether the man killed himself or was shot by police.

Oregon Gov. Kate Brown says the gunman in a deadly mass shooting at a community college was a 20-year-old man.

Authorities say the man is dead after killing 13 people and injuring at least 20 others at Umpqua (UHMP'-kwah) Community College in Roseburg, about 180 miles south of Portland.
Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin says authorities received calls from the college at about 10:30 a.m. reporting an active shooter in one of the classrooms.
