I just watched 60 MInutes and Tom Tancredo did a great job explaining his position.

There was a guy there whose name and position I missed. I thought he was with Border Patrol. He was with an agency of the government who went into Nebraska and some other states several years ago to shut down illegal hirings in the meatpacking business.

Then they were asked to leave by the states and people who had invited them in to leave and shut down their operation.

He then says we need illegal immigration, that it is good for the American Economy, and went on to say it is essential.

Please if anyone got his name and agency, post it.

This man is full of crap and a lying Traitor.

I want his name posted on this thread if we can find it.

Maybe we can get a transcript of the 60 Minutes segment.

Grrrrr!!! I am so angry. The show was a total set-up. They found a dead boy in the desert, 18 years old, his mother said they borrowed $300 to send him to the US to get enough money to put on a tin roof on their little house.

I saw the house. $50 of tin would have more than covered the cost of the tin roof if they know how to attach one.

This whole segment was a PR Segment master-minded by National Council of La Raza.

This mother and father borrowed money to send their son to his death so he could work in the US and send transfer payments back to them.

These Mexicans have no gumption. They have skill, they have heart, but they are missing something....they are missing the concept of building their nation because they are totally obssessed with acting like a bunch of rats scurrying into the US illegally, climbing over fences, running in "herds'....yes, that was shown tonight...."herds' of illegal aliens running down the interstate.

They have no integrity and no pride.

They have no respect for the American People and no respect for the United States and no respect for themselves.

This is not all their fault, but most of it is their fault. They dare US. They dare our Police. They dare American Citizens. Yet, they will not dare their own government to create a better more balanced economy for them. Mexico is blessed with many wonders....oil, beaches, rich agriculture, minerals, and so forth. There is no reason for this country to be poor except that it has been planned by their government and yes, I believe ours behind our backs.

NAFTA should have solved the problem of poverty in Mexico. Yet, it has increased it.

Ironies and Opposites. Yes indeedy this scheme and plot to end our nation started with George Herbert Walker Bush and NAFTA. Bill Clinton actually signed it into law and all these years later our companies are employing these people at third world wages; have made no positive impact on the economy; no difference in the lives of the people; and so they achieved not only slum slave wages in Mexico; they created the lure to work in the US so they can hire them here as well.

That is the true meaning of Maquiladora.....SCREW THE AMERICANS BOTH WAYS...steal their manufacturing economy and then reserve theft their service and retail economies back in the states.

And that is the essence of Mode 4 Liberalization of Bilateral Trade Flows planned by the WTO world-wide through Free Trade Agreements with the United States.

IMPEACH BUSH AND CHENEY NOW!!

Repeal all Free Trade Agreements based on Treason.

And thanks Junius for finding that transcript. Boy am I heated up. An officer of US Immigration Service on National Television claiming enforcing our laws will destroy communities.

All the employers had to do was hire Americans to fill the jobs the illegals had stolen from the Americans to begin with.

This is what happened. The Employers went cryng to the economic development officials claiming...we're gonna close our plant here and lay off EVERYBODY including the few American Citizens we hire if YOU DON'T GET these feds off our backs. So, paid employees of the people of Nebraska and Iowa...paid to create and retain jobs for American Citizens hopped right to the phone and said, "hey, we're going to ask you to leave because we've had some complaints by our manufacturers who prefer to hire lower paid illegals at $6 an hour instead of re-hire the Americans they were paying $16 an hour.

Okay, guys, I'm ready to look for a new illegal career, how bout you? Surely there's something we could get involved in that would produce more profits llegally than all this tiresome legal work we do every day? All we have to do is start our illegal business, whatever it is, smuggling cigars and goods from Cuba...hauling liquor across state lines....selling weapons without permits....hauling drugs in from Colombia...because now I know....that if some fed comes around trying to upset our business...all we have to do is call the state and county paid economic development specialista and tell them to get these feds off our backs, eh? If they don't, we're gonna pull all our money out of their town, close down our entire operation, and lay off all our people and employees.

So what do you say? Do you think this would work? Do you think the feds would say....."and you know they were right, these illegal businesses, these illegal enterprises, they are good for business, good for the towns and if we shut them down, we'll be destroying ""communities"" and hurting the American Citizens employed in these illegal enterprises and they pay really good too."

So...are we all ready to go Underground knowing that we'll receive the same treatment from the feds when we call and say....stay off our backs...this is economic development?

I've spent the better part of 30 years dealing in economic development including working for a state economic development department in a state that borders both Nebraska and Iowa and I must say I AM APPALLED!! I AM SICKENED BY THIS STORY.

These Globalists control every state house in the Union. Such a scenario would have been unthinkable if not laughable 20 years ago when I was in the midwest creating jobs for my state and doing everything within our power to keep our food plants and meat-packing, slaughter and processing facilities open and profitable hiring American Citizens.

The concept of using state funded economic development funds to do anything to undermine work for our citizens in favor of illegal foreign nationals or any foreign national for that matter would have been one of those issues that we would have just sat there; looked at the person proposing it; eyes would have "winced"; heads would have cocked slightly; chins would have jutted out abit; mouths would have gaped quite alot; and we would have said:

Could you run that by us again?

And then being sure we heard the request properly, we would have all straightened in our seats, looked cheerfully at each other, and one would have nodded to one to take the honors ot telling these dumb ass sonofabitches to get out of our offices and never step foot in them again.



But that would take knowledge; character; commitment; loyalty to your constituents who are the workers and not the employers.

By the way, all of us are still around; going strong; and still the same people we were then.

Americans are all over the place; everywhere; that know the difference between right and wrong; good and evil; legal and illegal.

They just aren't working in the Government Sector and that is a shame and a sham against the American People. So, lets say it again:

AND MARK REED NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED, CHARGED WITH UNDERMINING AMERICAN LAW WITH ABSOLUTELY FALSE CLAIMS ON NATIONAL TELEVISION, 60 Minutes, December 11, 2005 in his public conversation with Ed Bradley and summarily FIRED.

I was working on Mark Reed quotes while others were too. At first he seemed like a good guy until he said what he said at the end. I found this to be the worst part of the report which in general I found to be fairly good. But when people perpetuate "the big lie" that the economy will fall apart without illegal labor, I want to scream. I also kept saying during the report, where's the Pew Institute study that only 5 percent of the people were unemployed before they illegally came over.

Excerpt: "About six million illegal migrants are now working in the U.S. The meatpacking industry is one of the many that rely on illegal immigrant labor. Seven years ago, the Immigration Service cracked down on illegal migrants in plants in Nebraska and Iowa.

Mark Reed was in charge of the operation.

"What we did is we pulled together the meatpacking industry in the states of Nebraska and Iowa and brought them into Washington and told them that we were not going to allow them to hire any more unauthorized workers. Within 30 days over 3,500 people fled the meatpacking industry in Nebraska," says Reed.

"We proved that the government without doubt had the capacity to deny employment to unauthorized workers," says Reed.

What happened next?

"We were invited to leave Nebraska by the same delegation that invited us in. The bottom line issue was, please leave our state before you ruin our economy," says Reed.

"The reason is that by putting that factory out of business, not only do we put the unauthorized workers out of business, but we’ve put United States citizens out of business and we destroy, we have the potential to destroy, an entire community," says Reed.

Reed says that this illegal work force is "essential" to our economy."

If six million work in that industry alone, and half a million people live live in a Calif. valley area as I read the other day, all the references to 12 million illegals in the US is WAY OFF. There's probably more like 40 million now. Also about the 3500 people fleeing from their jobs, this is a phenomena that keeps happening whenever and wherever there is a rumor of an employment sweep. There was the report a few days ago about over 30 people being fired from a Calif. company when they walked off their jobs while on duty.

This all shows that if they really did a sweep, rather than just a rumor of a sweep, a significant effect could be made at the workplace. FIRE THEM ALL! (Since the employers all claim they didn't know they were illegal)

We also have to stop the big lie about the economy falling apart with out these people working. It may cause for some short-term disruption, but it would adjust in a real short time. Don't let anyone try and talk you into the "BIG LIE."

Yet another reason why I celebrate cancelling my cable service.

Screw 60 Minutes. You would have thought they'd have learned from Memogate, Rather's forced retirement and that dreadful Commie subversive Mapes' public shaming last year.

mapwife--the government has been lying to us about the numbers for almost 5 or more years now. I believe there are around 50,000,000 illegal aliens in the United States already.

In April 2005, the social security administration admitted to the NY Daily News that they had 7,200,000 tax returns filed by illegal aliens. These would be filed per household. According to the 2000 US Census, the average household in the US is 2.59 x 18,638,000. I believe the houshold for illegal aliens is higher because most are younger, married with kids...from 2 to alot more. So, I used 4, mom, dad and 2 kids on average for those filing tax returns which brings it to 28,000,000.

Now add all the ones not filing tax returns which is at least half so double it and you have 56,000,000. This includes the grandmas, uncles, aunts, extended family members, unemployed, incarcerated.

The Pew Center is the one that has had exclusive reporting of this "number" for some reason. The government never provides an estimate even though they have access to the social security data; even though they know from their own CIA data; even though they know from their border patrol reports....NOT ONE GOVERNMENT AGENCY has provided a report; compiled a statistic; that has been reported to the people...not the labor department, not the commerce department, not even homeland security.

The Pew Center operates off an endowment from Sun Oil Company money so there must be some reason they are involved in this particular statistic and no one else is. Bear Stearns released a report that estimated there were at least 20 Million OR MORE last year.

Oh, there's MORE alright.

One-sixth of our population is illegal alien, foreign nationals.

We are completely surrounded.

Do you recall Greenspan always talking about 1-2% growth per year. That's population growth. The American Population does not grow naturally 2% per year. In a decade that's 10 to 20 percent. Our country can not sustain a 1-2% POPULATION GROWTH!!

That's 30,000,000 to 60,000,000 new people every 10 years!!

There won't be a tree left; adequate schools; adequate employment; adequate drinking water; adequate highways or anything else!!

If immigration had been controlled; we would have plenty of everything. Now we are short on everything essential to our survival.

And they don't care!

The Globalists want the additional people for the additional "transactions". More housing built; more transactions; water, sewer, electric, heating oil, natural gas, telephone, cable television; insurance coverage; loans; fees. New income for life for the Globalists.

Unfortunately, our economy can not advance with a population based economy. Our economy is too large; the cost burden of population and housing and infrastructure far exceed the revenue unless you counter-balance it with new manufacturing jobs that have a multiplier effect. Every new manufacturing job created in the US economy creates 4 to 6, sometimes 7 additional jobs in the economy. A new retail store...creates only the 1 new retail job created. A new housing construction project....creates only the 1 construction job. No spin-off, no multiplier effect. Retail and housing are the end of the food chain and are some of the 4 to 6 additional jobs created by manufacturing. When the jobs are created by sheer population....it's a negative impact. No jobs, can't pay the bills; now government has to step in and "subsidize" and future generations have to pay to sustain the economy but with what? What will they earn to sustain this generation and their own?

It's not mathematically possible.

We are going BUST because of 50,000,000 illegal aliens being in this country without our permission.

It's just so outrageous, I have a headache tonight. That Ed Bradley and Mark Reed just lying and misrepresenting and more or less laughing at the American People....it just made me feel sick and stunned.

His facts are basically correct, but his interpretation, analysis, and conclusions are flawed and irresponsible to say the least.

The INS did make a seemingly honest attempt to get the illegals out of the meat packing industry in Nebraska and Iowa. It was called Operation Vanguard. The first obstacle was the local TV news media that filled their newscasts with clips of things like a weeping mother holding a baby and watching her illegal husband being loaded on a bus to be sent back to Mexico. (Never mind that most of those deported were back in Nebraska within 2-3 weeks anyway.) The next thing was the Cattlemen's Association and like groups becoming all upset that their beef products were not going to be processed and cattle prices were going to fall because of that. So, those groups began complaining to the governor and the congressional delegation. Then the governor and the congressional delegation complained to the INS and the President. So, then the INS decided to scrap Operation Vanguard.

The meat packers, primarily IBP (now Tyson) as I remember, were probably pulling some strings behind the scenes but it wasn't apparent.

The state funded La Raza, called the Nebraska Mexican-American Commission, was likely whining some, but I don't remember much from them either.

Although, the mayors, sheriffs, etc. of those meat packing towns would never admit it, most of the residents (other than the Mexican meat packing employees of course) would still to this day prefer that the meat packers did just pack up and leave -- at least that is what my not too scientific surveys reveal. I think it has something to do with the fact that they did not go to Juarez, but Juarez came to them.

Let's get the email addresses of CBS, 60 minutes and Ed Bradley and all pound them. They want to dish out there garbage they need to get it right back.

nhmass--you are so right. It doesn't matter whether they over breed there or here....the outcome is the same. Poverty and third world conditions. We are going to have to run them out of the United States right back to their country, no matter what it takes, no matter what it costs, no matter how long it takes.

Watching those people running like a herd of buffalo down an American Interstate in Arizona I think it was just stunned me; I heard about this in Houston but I'd never seen it.

These people are the worse most ridiculous most pathetic most arrogant silliest bunch of people I've ever watched. They have reduced themselves to jean-clad rat status. No wonder people are showing their "disaffection".
