I am very optimistic. The economy will work against many of the schemes that the Democrats would like to see pulled off, and now more than ever it is American workers up against the illegal aliens and refugees who should not be here. There is fraud in the refugee system too and many groups profit from bringing large numbers of individuals who are not in fear of their lives in to the United States. We need to do a better job of policing those who want to enter. Too many enemies from within. Nashville in particular has become a drop off point for thousands and thousands of refugees that now take the jobs from American citizens and illegal aliens. The whole state pays for the free services and benefits. It cannot bear the costs. It cannot bear the lack of assimilation problems that are occurring. A refusal to assimilate creates a nightmare for all.
As finances become tight for local, state, and national government, some expenditures will just have to go. Bleeding heart liberals will have to face the reality that you can't fleece people who are struggling to keep their jobs too and the wall street types and corporations are taking big hits too. The well is not that deep.
We have seen some surprising outcomes when we come together against amnesty, visa increases, etc. and we must keep trying. Open borders will lead to greater burdens for the United States. Terrorists and drug cartels are given easy access, not to mention millions of illegal aliens. Violence on our borders spills over, and somewhere the fence has got to be built.
Keep calling, emailing, faxing and tell our representatives what must be done to keep America safe, to respect our workers and families, and to give value to reasonable immigration allowances and citizenship.
We need to find new voices in the political parties to eloquently speak a message appealing to the American people.

I think the Dems priorities will be the economy and health care. Both huge contentious issues. This is not to say amnesty won't rear its ugly head again, but the Dems are going to have to prioritize.

IMO, I will never give up the fight. And, just a gut feeling, Obama will start to learn the extent of the illegal problem in this country and the effect on its citizens, especially on the economy, education, healthcare, etc. and he may decide that amnesty is not a priority as he said in campaign speeches. He may just leave that question for the next president to answer, ala GWB.

Don't forget that many in the House and Senate will be up for election in 2 years, they will be afraid of amnesty. If they want to be reelected they know the voters will be against them. Any amnesty will have to wait until they secure their job.
We still have work to be done and now is not the time to give up but to strengthen our resolve that our Country will NOT be given away without a fight.
When the people realize that Obama is unable to give away the bank if no one is working to put money into the government coffers. They need us to replenish the supply.
I know that many of us are feeling overwhelmed at the moment but we are Americans, we can do anything!!"It is error alone that needs the support of government. Truth can stand by itself".

Sorry, "Alipac"" I am not going to make a donation for you and I have stopped listening to Boyles on KHOW 630 in Denver too. He hates illegals but thinks gay marriage is ok even though every state has where the VOTERS have had a vote they have said NO...at least for now. Just like illegal immigration....a little here and there and sooner or later it will be reality!
With Barack Obama and Democrats in control amnesty is a done deal. The devil will be in the details. Obama has said illegals should have the driver's license and I expect it to happen. Obama was against Kennedy McCain amnesty because it was not lenient enough towards illegals! Yes, the voters may go back to the red instead of blue in two years but I don't see the voters making immigration the issue it should be. Too bad really and the unions now even want the scamnesty because the Hispanics have infiltratted the unions at higher levels!
It is pretty simple. It is only the conservative wing of the Republican party that is anti-illegal and groups like MALDEF and LA Raza are doing everything they can to make more immigrants citizens so they can vote and vote DEM! If Tancredo runs here in Colorado you know that the Democrat Hispanics are gonna call him a racist and unfortunately it is working. McCain should have done much better with Hispanic voters because of his scamnesty.
Elections are won in waves and numbers so when these Hispanic lawyer leaders say things like "we shall overwhelm" it is true. Look at this election? %95 of blacks voted Obama. This is very disappointing. Seventy five percent would have been ok to me because blacks normally vote Democrat but it obvious they voted on skin color instead of issues. It says that the "victim mentality" of the minority is alive and well despite millions of dollars spent on affirmative action etc. Colin Powell supported Obama because Powell is black too and has a victim mentality formed many years ago. Condeleeza Rice is the same way. They can't get over it can they? Did dark skin Hispanics vote this way as well? The white vote split around 50 50.
So, with so many new Hispanics in Colorado how can Tancredo win a Senate seat based on immigration alone? White Democrats will not go to a Tancredo type just for immigration. So, the Republicans are going to have to educate the Hispanics on why more immigration is wrong.....llike it keeps wage rates down when new people come in. But can this be done!
OK I will leave ALIPAC. I only come back once in a while anyway. You think good and hard about what I say and you can dream of third party but Ross Perot is gone! You and Boyles can complain but it does not seem to be doing too much good does it? It is what it is! Keep up the fight and good luck to you because you are gonna need it!

In fact, once the three remaining races are decided we may not be down but one seat over all.
So, obviously you owe everyone here an apology for running off at the mouth about how it's all over doom doom doom!
Behind the scenes, over the last few months, some of the top strategists in our movement have confidentially expressed that the situation we now see before us could be the best case scenario for us to defeat Amnesty.
Obama in the White House with less than 60 Senate votes needed to stop a filibuster is better for us than McCain being in the White House because this way we have a greater chance of getting McCain and his traitors in the Senate NOT to vote with Obama on contentious issues like immigration.
Also, you can count on an Obama plan from the White House to be much more radical than a McCain plan thus making it less likely to pass than a McCain plan coming from the White House.
Sure, you can still count on Lindsey Graham and a few others following McCain into line with the Democrats but the Democrats have 2 Senators they can't count on for Amnesty so they need every single remaining Democrat and at least four more Republicans to follow McCain and Graham on an Amnesty Cloture vote.
Now, just picture the amount of enormous pressure there will be for those four not to go with Obama.
This kind of politics is not for the weak of heart and your cowardice and despair is unwelcome here.
You can either get a hold of yourself or take the walk. Up to you.

I can empathize with how he feels. I had to close my business down in May as I could no longer sustain the high cost of business and earn less than 10k a year. I was ready to throw in the towel, but I have this conscious problem when I look into my chidren's faces. What am I to tell them if I lay down and allow the nation myself and them to be trampled upon.
I went through a down moment of despair, and this last year has been full of much despair, through many family losses. Too many really. But for some reason, I can not just rollover, and have felt a strong feeling to take action, so I've taken every opportunity to contact congressmen, and senators to the best of my ability on issues confronting our country instead. It hasn't afforded me much time to post or even visit until the last few days. But maybe it's phase we all have to come to grips with before we can go forward.
If alipacdude has a conscious, he will return eventually with more strength than before. I know I have. And when time allows, I will stop by and post, or respond to threads when I can. But in the meantime, I need to find a decent job where they don't expect slave labor for moderate wages.

I could certainly be sympathetic to this person if they were expressing themselves as you have.
But in this case, this guy is firing at every aspect of the movement and completely fatalistic making me wonder if ALIPACdude is really a supporter or someone pretending to be.
