McCain could beat Obama because it is like Hillary says, many of her white and Hispanic supporters will not vote for Obama.

If Hillary beats Obama, McCain is toast.

Agree 100%. I was sure that McCain was going to be destroyed by Hillary. But now it looks like Obama will take the nomination, so I think the old dope has a chance. Leave it to the Democratic Party to find a way to lose to utter garbage like McCain. They found a way to lose to utter garbage like GWB twice. Their party establishment is plain stupid. If they nominated someone like Byron Dorgan they would win in a landslide.
Serve Bush with his letter of resignation.

    See you at the signing!!

The question isn't whether Captain McAmnesty can beat Obama. It's by how much he will beat Obama. IMO, it will be a landslide of Mondale or McGovern proportions:

    1) Millions of bitter Hillary supporters will vote for Captain McAmnesty out of spite and because McAmnesty is really a liberal disguised as a republican as opposed to Obama who is a socialist disguised as a liberal.

    2) Millions of republicans who loathe McAmnesty will show up to the polls on election day to vote for him mainly because the alternative is Jimmy Carter part deux.

    3) Millions of hispanics will vote for McAmnesty because he's an ardent supporter of illegal immigration and he's not black.

Once again, the dems will manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I think everyone is underestimating just how much most of the Republican loathe McCain.

Who he pick for VP is actually going to decide the race. If he pick a strong VP then I think he probably will win. If he picks a crony McCain is the one that will lose in a landslide. A strong VP is the only may many of the disenfranchised would vote for McCain. hoping that he could not complete his term for what ever reason. The Man will be closing in on 77 at the end of his term. NO WAY he get a second term if he happens to finish his first.

    Like always.. just my opinion...

PS It is sad that voting today has become more of voting AGAINST a person rather than FOR a person!!

Most republicans can't stand McCain, but he won in the primary anyway.
Thanks to the many democrats who voted for him.

I still can't see myself voting for MC Cain. If I was to put some money on a race between MCCain and Osama I would bet against osama.

The thing I still wonder is how many conservatives there are like me who will probably not vote for MCCain (the big probable is who his running mate will be).

The main thing I see is who will be the easiest to defeat when they start pushing amnesty again. I think Osama will be the easiest to beat and McCain the hardest. Republicans will stand stronger against a Dem pushing amnesty than they will against a Republican. Even more reason for me not to vote for McCain.

Question for everyone "who would be most successful in passing amnesty, McCain, Obama, or Clinton".

I still say it would be McCain.

Also anyone have any thoughts about Pat Buchanans' prediction that under McCain our country will enter into a war with Iran?

Pistov, you're right. The conservative base are NOT loyal followers of McCain. McCain will lose because of apathy. If on election day I have to chose between voting for McCain and getting the dogs toenails trimmed, the dog wins.
Look at what happened in Penna and just in NC and Indiana. 25% of Republicans voted AGAINST McCain!! The people they chose to vote for had no chance for anything but they just don't like McCain! Think about it, 1 out of 4!!!!
McCain would lose because of lack of interest by his base. AND....he has started to talk again about "comprehensive immigration reform". Is he mad??? This is suicide for this absolute MORON. If he continues, I WILL vote for Obama because I don't want this traitor slime in the White House.
How could we nominate this loser?

Oh, Fidilly dee. I'm not going to worry about this anymore tonight. I'll think about this tomorrow.

Seriously, it is hard for me to believe, still, that we are stuck with the 3 truly pitiful and pathetic choices that we have. What is wrong with this country? Millions of citizens, the worst 3 possible presidential candidates in history.

I despise mccain, obama frightens me. I wouldn't vote for her, but I do think hillary is the best of these 3 evils.

Amnesty is a done deal if McCain is elected. He will be able to say
I got elected so comprehensive immigration reform must be what people want. Everyone Knows this is my platform. So either they want this or it is not a big issue..
either way it is a done deal with McCain.

The polling I have seen on the topic in the general election scenario stacks up like this:

    McCain vs. Obama (Obama loses)
    McCain vs. Clinton (McCain loses)

I don't like to believe that racism is the key determinant of the outcome for Obama. But, it is always a latent possibility. Of course, I also believe the options are a case of the 'evil of 3 lessers'.
