I just received the following email

Dear Faxer:

Democrats on the House Appropriations Committee have gutted enforcement funding

This new phone call request has been posted in your Action Buffet based on your answers to the Interest Survey.

Democrats, including your Representative, on the House Appropriations Committee have effectively blocked state and local governments from enforcing immigration laws anywhere in the country.

Here is how it happened:

The DHS Appropriations bill, drafted by Rep. David Price (D-N.C.), took funding away from the 287(g) program, which enables state and local police to coordinate with federal authorities to enforce our immigration laws.

Rep. John Carter (R-Texas), offered an amendment to restore the 287(g) funding to the DHS Appropriations bill.

That amendment was defeated along party lines (All Republicans voted to restore the funding, all Democrats voted to gut the funding).

This partisan play by the Democrats on the Appropriations Committee is a terrible blow to immigration enforcement across the country.

State and local police are badly needed to help overwhelmed federal immigration authorities apprehend and detain illegal aliens in the interior of our country. Illegal aliens currently outnumber federal immigration agents by 5,000 to one, and only 2,000 federal agents are active in enforcing the immigration laws in the interior of our country. Clearly, those numbers indicate that a limited number of federal agents are incapable of confronting the estimated 12-20 million illegal aliens currently inside our nation's borders and would benefit from the assistance of the more than 600,000 state and local law enforcement officers nationwide who come into contact with illegal aliens every day.

Your Representative has taken a terrible step to ensure that illegal immigration will continue to sp iral out of control.

WELL, Prices office lied to me, so we need to call his office and say that they obviously, lied to the American citizen and voter. Make sure you will tell them that you are writing to everyone in your address book to let them know what the Democrats are up to and that they are voting against the American citizen.

Let's get this out to Glenn Beck, Lou Dobbs, O'Reilly, Hannity and Ingraham.

Price is going to say that he didn't kill the 287 (g) program, that he only took some funding away to spend it on more important stuff, like deporting criminal aliens.

Just tell them that they spin the truth and ask us to buy it. We don't buy it and that's why the approval rating of Congress is lower than Bush's. Now that's saying something.


Just sent this to Rush, Glenn Beck, O'Reilly.

I called Price's office this morning. Very nice aid said that it was a common misconception that Price was against enforcement and funding. I asked if 287g would still be under the funding umbrella. He said he believed so.

Yep, tell them the Democrats have shown their true colors and that the American people will know about it.

Do we have a list of Committee members which gives their party in addition to their state? I'm sure many would like to call and express their displeasure to the Democrats about this!

I fear things are going to get worse after the November elections if the political pundits predictions of a Republican blood bath in the U.S. Congress comes to pass. We need to face the facts, illegal immigration and border security are partisan issues. If you are considering voting on a Democrat this fall, make damn sure you do your homework! The Democrats have fine tuned arm twisting into an art. The Republicans aren't without fault but at least the majority of them stand with us.

ANy chance of getting the funded restore on the Floor or in the Senate?

I called but knowing that the Rep was a Democrat I knew I had no chance. The Democrats are killing us. -- NEVER ELECT DEMOCRATS.

I am shocked at Price -- being from N.C -- did La Raza buy him off?
