Saul is taking a bath the same darn way my American Citizen parents took a bath on a farm in the United States. Nothing was wrong with my paretns, noting was wrong with the way they bathed, where they lived or the way they were raised.
Yes, same for my American Citizen parents, plus they didn't have flush toilets but only an outhouse.

One set of my grandparents lived that way during my youth. They had an outhouse too. As for bathing and drinking water, they had to physically haul their water from the well located at the one room school house that was 3 miles away (very few folks in their neck of the woods had a well). Snow, sleet, rain, or whatever, my mother and her brothers (my uncles) walked to that school everyday when school was in session. She attended the school up through ninth grade - after that she caught a bus to the high school that was located 25 miles away. They kept warm during the winter with an cast iron wood stove. Also, there was no A/C - the only thing they could do was open the windows and doors (had a screen door). Of course if the summer really got hot, they could always take a dip in the local creek (if it wasn't dry). As a child, I use to spend every other summer with them (summers were split between both sets of grandparents). I have a lot of fond memories of my time spent in the Mo. Ozarks. However, I was probably fortunate that my mother met my father in town where he was attending college. His parents were fairly well off and had all the amenities. Once my father graduated, they married and moved to Texarkana, Tx. Shortly after moving to Texas they became the proud parents of a bouncing baby boy (that would be me).
