    Finally in New Jersey !!

Police in New Jersey are now under orders to ask suspects they arrest for serious crimes or drunken driving this question: Are you here legally? Setting a statewide policy where none existed, Attorney General Anne Milgram yesterday made immigration checks a routine part of police procedure, requiring state and local officers to notify federal authorities when they have reason to believe a suspect is in the country illegally.â€

This would be great, but I find it hard to believe.

I saw her talking about it last night.

A little late, perhaps? Like closing the barn door after the horse has fled?

Sad that it wasn't done in the first place, and should be done EVERYWHERE in the U.S.

it often takes a tragedy before people realize there is a problem. New Jersey experienced an unthinkable tragedy and now, they are starting to wake up.

Calderon was absolutely right when he said...."Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico".

There is still a lot of work to be done in NJ. This policy won't affect illegal aliens who are not charged with a felony.

You are correct, but have you ever tried to reason with someone that supports illegals? They tend to believe that they are just poor innocent people who are doing nothing wrong. Just people trying to achieve the American dream. They tend to fail to realize that if they were so innocent, they would have gone the legal route, they would have shown us the respect of learning our language and they would be Americans once they were done with the immigration process. Not Mexicans (or any other country) who snuck (sneaking usually indicates a knowlege of wrongdoing) over the border, aquired false documents, and demand to receive entitlements.

So untill the illegal supporters see the illegals for what they really are (criminals by default), they will not wake up. Its sad and I'm very sorry that three children had to pay the price for the stupidity of their state's government.

You can say that again. NJ really has a long way to go because it is so much a sancutuary for illegals. I hope the idea may spread.
