DEE--I agree with almost all of your analogies. I don't agree with the Terri Schiavo analogy. I think Bush used that family tragedy to make himself LOOK COMPASSIONATE but it sure backfired.
As to the rest, you are dead on target. Of course, Bush isn't committing mass murder to Americans but he is slowly but surely taking away every freedom that we were guaranteed in the Constitution. You have a great point about the Patriot Act. 9/11 gave him a very good opportunity to "get us under his thumb".
I still don't know that I can go so far as to say he is another Hitler BUT he is sure a dictator who would LOVE to control the citizens of our country. When a person has to fear for their safety, as I really do, for speaking AGAINST this administration, that is taking us back to before the Revolutionary War. I have the distinct feeling that, if he could get away with it, he would be having dissenters burned at the stake.
The man is DANGEROUS no matter what you call him. He has done more to divide this country than any President in my memory. He refuses to answer questions by the media to which we are ENTITLED to get answers for. It is DANGEROUS when an administration controls the free press in a country where free press is a right guaranteed us. If you look back throughout recent history, it is obvious that, with the prevention of the press from accessing information, a LOT of corruption would never have been exposed.
So, it just smacks of corruption and deceit when this President has the NERVE to pass out questions that reporters are allowed to ask at press conferences. What is he HIDING?"POWER TENDS TO CORRUPT AND ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY." Sir John Dalberg-Acton

Judy I read about Globalism every day. I just think terms like socialism are dated and don't accurately describe what's happening in most of the world. I agree the US is in heavy debt --that's a fact and I'm not seeing any plans to resolve that situation either, unfortuantely. On a personal level, I plan on paying off all my credit card debt in the next year--thanks mainly to your prodding on these forums. Most of the people I know are making paying off their debt their number one priority this year.

BobC--That is music to my ears about paying off the credit card debts. It is truly the most significant thing we can do individually to defeat the money lenders involved in globalization and the end of our nation.
Thumbs Up To You and All Your Friends!!

As my friend Heather said the other day "Bob--it took me the longest time to realise that credit cards aren't free money..."
