Serve Bush with his letter of resignation.

    See you at the signing!!

Yes, it was all an act. I've been screaming about this since it was reported that Fred was thinking of running. We don't EVER need no stinkin actor OR CFR member as our President.

It is all a scam. If Thompson was not in the race tonight, McCain would not have won. Thompson will stay in until his best friend sews up the nomination, or at least close.
Then McCain will lose to Clinton. And we are in deep you know what.
Couldn't have summed it all up better myself!

Stupid and uninformed Americans are the reason we may lose this country! I still can't believe how these stupid idiots could ever vote for McCain!

This election is starting to look like something out of a horror novel. It's starting to look like a conspiracy to get a candidate elected to office that will continue where Bush left off! It's scary!... Evil is alive and well!

Excuse me. Fred Thompson was John McCain's 2000 National Campaign Manager. Of Course he'll endorse McCain. Hopefully, Thompson supporters will jump on Romney's train when they realize this betrayal.

    Mitt Romney

Mitt Romney will not be able to defeat the democrats. None of the frontrunners will beat the democrats. Might as well accept that right now.

Fred Thompson - where has he been all this time? Last year I strongly yearned for Fred Thompson to enter the GOP race for president because I was looking for a strong conservative to enter the race, who can actually get some traction and win. Like most conservatives, I was abysmally disappointed that Guiliani and McCain were far ahead in the race, because neither of them was a conservative in any way except in national security. I was particularly concerned because many assumed in a two man race that the social conservatives would eventually rally to John McCain instead of Guiliani, making him the frontrunner.

This was expected, even though McCain had proven himself to be a liberal many times on the national stage as he pushed for an amnesty bill that would reward 12 million lawbreakers by letting them stay in this country - while millions who followed the laws had to stay in line outside. This is a bill he still supports - all the while denying it is amnesty - while only changing his position enough to allow us to bully him into accepting a border fence.

McCain worked with the Democrats to deny the freedom of speech during elections with his so-called McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform. So that now regular people and organizations can’t make their views known, but a wealthy, socialist billionaire like George Soros gets to buy elections for his friends through his 527 groups.

Then, just when conservatives in the Senate were about to break the log-jam on the president’s judicial nominations, who comes to the rescue of the Democrats but John McCain and six other liberal Republicans who cut the legs out from under the Republican majority with their “gang of 14â€

1 You are right about Fred and John being past allies, but that was before illegal immigration became a salient national issue.

2 Nobody has presented a source for the statement that John and Fred actually shared their honeymoons together with their wives, so I guess that was just a cute hyperbolic fun thing to say (but it was also very demoralizing and discouraging, so I am glad it is apparently not literally true).
[b] If we do not insist on Voter ID, how can we stop illegals from voting?
