My awful Congressman is running for the third time against a non-entity. The following line is the theme of his campaign. This is a code word for a North American Union if I ever saw one...

"Working for One America"

IMMIGRATION

There is not a simple solution in addressing the immigration problem in our country. Building a fence, sending troops to the border, and a permanent checkpoint will not solve the immigration crisis in our state or country. Raúl believes that if we are to work on solutions for immigration, we must do so with a comprehensive approach.

The immigration debate in this country has been about fears and insecurities, Raúl does not believe in exploiting this issue, he wants to work on a solution that addresses all of the problems at once. Raúl supports a comprehensive approach that deals with the undocumented, provides a feasible process for future immigration, understands the global economy and provides for humane and just border security.

We must recognize that immigrants are a net benefit to our country. Immigrants add to the economy, diversity, and population of the United States. Arizona's economy, specifically, has a large reliance on immigrant labor, who add to the overall economy. Raúl believes if we are to rely on an enforcement-only approach we will continue to see an increase of undocumented immigrants, human smuggling, and deaths in our desert.

Raúl has been a leader in the party in stopping anti-immigrant legislation and procedures in Congress, and ensuring that the immigration debate focuses on solutions. In addition to working on legislation, he has been working to stop the demonizing of immigrants.

On the border, Raúl is the lead congressional opposition in regards to the proposed wall along the US Mexico Border. Raúl wrote and introduced HR 2593, the Borderland Conservation and Security Act, which would require Homeland Security to respect the community, consult with the community, and respect the law by repealing the Secretary of Homeland Security's waiver authority. Currently the Secretary of Homeland Security can waive any law in the name of security. The last waiver was done on April 1st, Secretary Chertoff waived 36 laws, including Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and the American Indian Religious Freedom Act.

The actions happening on the border are not addressing the immigration issue. They are symbolic at best. Neighborhoods and communities are enduring taking of their land, privacy violations, and disruption of their lives, but are not seeing improvement in security. Raúl will continue to push for this legislation and work with the next Administration to prioritize the community in any border proposals.

This guy isn't running any TV or Radio ads except on Spanish Language media. He's anti fence, anti checkpoints. Even though speaks of "immigration" like he's talking about standard immigration, when he uses buzz words like "Immigrants add to the economy, diversity, and population of the United States. Arizona's economy, specifically, has a large reliance on immigrant labor, who add to the overall economy," he's not referring to legal immigration at all. If he was, there'd be no need for the next comment he makes, "Raúl believes if we are to rely on an enforcement-only approach we will continue to see an increase of undocumented immigrants, human smuggling, and deaths in our desert."

What does "enforcement only," "smuggling" and "deaths in our desert" have to do with immigration? They only have to do with illegal immigration. Do we normally refer to legal immigrants as "adding to the economy?

And this guy credits himself as a lead advisor to the Obama Campaign. I'd like to educate the Obama Campaign about this guy! North American Union?
