Mexico: Says Cartels Are Moving Beyond Drugs

Mexico Says Cartels Are Moving Beyond Drugs in Quest for Domination
    Thursday, August 05, 2010
    By Staff, Associated Press

Mexico City (AP) - President Felipe Calderon says Mexico's cartels in many cases have moved beyond drugs as their main money-earner.

Speaking Wednesday at an anti-crime conference, Calderon says the gangs are even trying to supplant the government in parts of the country. He says gangs are imposing fees like taxes in towns they dominate, extorting money from both legitimate and unauthorized businesses.

He says they may even be taking money from churches.

Calderon told the gathering that some people are urging him to leave the cartels alone. That's after more than 28,000 people have died in drug violence since he launched an offensive against the cartels upon taking office in late 2006. He called that "simply an unacceptable option."

Are we seeing any correlation between Mexico and the results from our liquor prohibition?

This is a part of our future if the borders remain open as the cartels are setting up shop in various parts of this soon to be conquered, lawless third world narco-state. The administration's answer to this is to sit on their thumbs and sue states trying to do the job of protecting their citizens which this corrupt government refuses to do.
There is no freedom without the law. Remember our veterans whose sacrifices allow us to live in freedom.

The infiltration and usurpation of Mexicans in our government now is startling to me. Anyone that thinks a Mexican politician has America at heart is an idiot.

That statement is not racist...it is simply a matter of facts when you view any voting record.

"Mexico Says Cartels Are Moving Beyond Drugs in Quest for Domination"

This is not news to places like California, and other border states, and all their citizens who have been there any variety of years from before 1986.

Too bad more didn't listen longer ago.

Thank God some Americans are finally waking up to this FACT that has been innately known by Californians for decades - long before 1986.

I am thankful for God's Holy Hand in helping Americans to be educated on the endeavors of mexico and their citizens.

    1) mexico, 2) their cartels and mafias, and 3) mexico's illegal alien invasion into America are three different and separate types of movements things - be very clear about that.

I moved to AZ in 1969. It took about 2 weeks for me to realize how wrong this all is.

Does Mexico have its own version of the Democratic Party?

They control illegal gambling on both sides of the border--casinos up and down the Valley--the cops do nothing most of the time--often located in the busiest places in our society.

    Where is ICE?

    The Rangers?

The Troopers? Ask Rick. . .
