Smart choice. Those type of arguments are not important on Alipac since it deals with illegal immigration. We need to stay focused on that topic. There have been a few abortion discussions in the past that ended up causing hurt feelings and flaring tempers.

I was just listening to Patrick Fitzgerald's press conference about Scooter Libby. Sounds like he still hasn't wrapped up the investigation so I still have hopes that it will extend to a couple of others. Wouldn't it be FINE if they got Wackident??!!!

Yes, Yes the wackident has got to go. This Fitzgerald guy should have cut a plea bargain deal with Libby for testimony against Rove, Cheney and Jorge. Why should the little guy be the only one who gets punished when we all know that others were definitely involved?

Yes, the Libby needs to spill his guts, be an American, and tell it all. As Cheney's Chief of Staff, this cat knows it ALL!!!

dman--there is still a chance that Libby will cop a plea. Maybe that's what Fitzgerald is waiting for. And, I've given this a lot of thought and WHY would Libby, an extremely intelligent man AND an attorney, LIE about where he got the information about Valerie Plame? Getting it from Cheney was NOT a crime so it REALLY leads me to believe that he was covering for SOMEONE HIGHER UP on an issue that WAS a crime. There would be only 3 people who met the criteria--Cheney, Rove and Wackident. There's a crucial piece of the puzzle missing here and I hope that Fitzgerald can find that piece. Since Cheney discussing Valerie Plame with Libby is perfectly legit, there MUST be something else that Libby knows that would cause him to blatantly lie--not once but FOUR times--two of those under oath.

There's something VERY FISHY about this.

I'm wondering about that. The only way that would happen IMHO is if he tried to plea bargain down the charges. Otherwise, he will only be tried on those charges and, since the outing of the CIA agent was NOT a charge, there would be no reason for any of the stuff about trumped up intelligence to come up. I think the best thing would be if he wanted to keep from going to trial and agreed to rat on whomever he was protecting. AND, remember, he let Judity Miller go to jail for almost 3 months to protect whomever he's protecting so I just wonder how much he values his own hide!
