Going to the principal is fine as a first step, make sure you also send a registered letter to him as well. But be prepared to take it to the school board. You should document all your actions. If you are stonewalled the next step is News Media. Make sure you make copies of all your childrens papers or so called projects.

    Begin with the teacher.

Tell that person that you want an explanation of the purpose of this assignment. After hearing the teacher's response, you might want to tell that person that if your children are required to study Obama, they should also be assigned to study the Founding Fathers.

If you're not satisfied with the teacher's response or followup assignments, go to the principal and try again. If you go directly to the board, you'll have to wait for a scheduled meeting and you'll probably be told to start at the school.

Going thru these steps is tedious. It helps to think of them as being part of an extended campaign, rather than being individual battles. You're not defeated until you stop fighting.

All the best with protecting your children.

    We're here to help.

quote(I don't agree oldguy, sorry, it wasn't in MY SCHOOL! Quote

No need to be sorry for disagreement certainly it may be less in many schools depending on location, however I seen the changes first hand starting in the late 60's,it's very low key at first, and as it grows we see less patriotism, more distorted history,do your own thing, the school is your family, etc, etc. As I said before not all teachers but I've had family, friends in the system for years and I will always believe if we want a better America we must have more private schools or the option to send your children where you wish.
Clearly our school system is using materials spawned by the far left.

WOW! Its difficult to imagine children learning about positive concepts like "yes we can" which is uplifting to anyone. Positive messages are well ... positive. Kind of nice to have positive messages for a change no? And indoctrination of students has taken place since the beginning of time. When they are taught that 2 + 2 does not = 4 and that there's nowhere for them to go in life but the military so they might as well sign up now because there should be "no child left behind" then we should as parents worry...hey wait a minute isn't that what's been happening over the last few years???

You as a parent need to question anything that to you doesn't look right. too many parents are busy trying to make a buck with both parents working so they can do really posh things like eat and keep a roof over their heads. Do participate in your kids education and question authority, hold the schools up to the levels you expect of them those that you pay for. Otherwise they run right over us and we get what we have.

Hmmmm....not sure where you are coming from with this. "Yes We Can" ....what? Yes we can be Socialist. Yes we can be Marxist? What does "Yes We Can" mean to Obama and his Obots?

John McCain's motto was "Country First". I wonder if he had been elected, if that librarian would have had my kids write that instead. I doubt it.

How about looking in on the school unannounced? For all you know Obama's picture might be EVERYWHERE! I'd be in school Monday! then I would call parents that are normal and a bunch of you go to either the principle and then the School Board if you get no results. I would also call people like Dr Phil, Fox news (O'Reilly will get on it, Hannity and Beck too) and have them look into it. Get lots of info from kids, upset parents and I'd take a camera and take pictures of them if there are many.. That would be a "tip off" to them that you are serious!
    LOL
Go for the SHOCK & AWE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no kids but I will snoop in the area schools and ask kids. I have a feeling this is viral...

NCLB is a piece of CRAP. It has made our kids stupid! Didn't you hear that this is the first generation to NOT BE AS SMART as their parents???? To be taught a test??? The whole idea of NCLB is for us AMERICANS to HAVE to school illegals kids at a huge cost monitarily and a HUGE cost to our kids educations. Look at our failing schools!!!! We were at the top in education and now we are way down....

Obama's message has taken a rabid slant.
Obama is JUST a man! An Elitist, Marxist, Socialist, Black Liberation Theologist man!
These teachers have lost their minds. Now a whole generation will grow up whacked like North Korea's kids!

Watch these short clips and tell me this is OK. It's happening all over at alarming rates!

These children are being indoctrinated, pure and simple. I NEVER had to endure anything like this in my school years, even through my college years. It is WRONG and it is DANGEROUS! If you can't get satisfaction through the school board, go to the media. You don't have to put up with this garbage!

Go the principal first, but don't expect much he may be an Obama man as well, however, don't let anything stop you go right to the top, these are your children. You have the right to stop the brainwashing of your children. There are other parents who feel just like you, search them out and make it a group effort.

Can you be more clear as to what the specific problem is? I think that would be more helpful for your arguing. With public education being what it is, educators have freedom to teach the state standards and if the teacher can show this through the assignment, you may be out of luck.
