As an example, there is a record of about 8-9 votes on amendments in the last few days, and that in itself, is beginning to indicate who are the 'good guys', who are the 'bad guys' who are the ones still meandering in the middle, as well as, those leaning to one side or another. By understanding the positions of certain groups of senators, we can then 'customize' our communications with each senator in a way to maximize our overall impact - and...turn up the heat yet another notch!
I agree PhredE, this debate is shining a light on where these senators stand and precious few of them stand with the American people.

Well, I see Cornyn and Hutchison stabbed us in the back. Neither of them gets my vote next time around.
Hutchinson's vote didn't surprise me, but I was hoping Sen. Cornyn was coming around, especially since he feels the bill is weak on security and enforcement. Guess the amnesty part of the Senate compromise bill (S.134 doesn't bother him in the least.

Of course as someone has stated, perhaps he voted against the Vitter amendment in order to justify not supporting the bill in the end. I know, doubtful, but I can dream.

Guess my California girlies have not been listening to me. Feinstein's SF box was full this morning. Got through to the DC office. Will continue to bother them over the weekend. It's a PITA to e-mail them as they only respond to e-mails through their websites. I will continue to do it though over the weekend.
