La Chapiza Cartel captured and interrogated a Los Cabrera Cartel operative criminal organization based out of Durango. The Los Cabrera member's name is Sebastian Martinez Perez, "El 05" who claims to be in charge of recruiting civilians to join the ranks of the Los Cabrera Cartel. Mr. Martinez Perez claims in the interrogation video to be from Tamazula, Durango but lives in Culiacan, Sinaloa.


La Mayiza and La Chapiza criminal organizations have both engaged in degrading themselves in interrogation videos since the war broke out in September 2024 between both sides. The following interrogation video is no exception as Mr. Martinez Perez warns Los Cabrera and La Mayiza members to not trust there leaders as they continue to make false promises.

Agents from the State Prosecutor's Office and experts from the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences resumed excavation work this Wednesday at the clandestine grave in the Lomas del Refugio neighborhood, in Zapopan, where 63 bags with human remains have been located since it was located on December 13 by members of the Luz de Esperanza (Light of Hope) collective.
Hector Flores, founder of the collective, said that they were working until December 24 because there was no more backhoe, which was needed for this work.

The discovery occurred on December 13 in a property located at the intersection of Ameca and Matamoros streets, where the members of the collective arrived to search for buried human remains, according to an anonymous tip they received through their social networks.
According to data from the Special Prosecutor's Office for Missing Persons, 20 clandestine graves had been accounted for between January and November of last year.

MEXICO CITY (apro).- A federal judge granted early release to Rosalinda González Valencia, wife of Nemesio Oseguera González “El Mencho,” leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), however, she will not be released from prison immediately.

In a hearing held yesterday by Judge Perla Fabiola Ayala Estrada, assigned to the Federal Criminal Justice Center based in Cuernavaca, Morelos, González Valencia's defense argued that her client had already served more than half of her sentence and that, in addition to having shown good conduct, she could obtain the benefit of early release.

Rosalinda González Valencia was sentenced in 2023 to five years in prison for money laundering, but has remained in prison since November 2021.

Federal sources confirmed that Judge Ayala established that the release order in favor of the wife of “El Mencho” will take effect until it becomes final, that is, until it can no longer be revoked by a higher court.

For this reason, the Attorney General's Office (FGR) is already preparing the presentation of an appeal that must be resolved by a Collegiate Court.

A training camp used by organized crime was discovered by elements of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection in coordination with the Mexican Army, the National Guard and the Attorney General's Office

On September 24, 2024, elements of the National Guard located another clandestine camp in the town of Estanzuela, in Teuchitlán.

A federal judge has granted conditional release to Rosalinda González, who has already served more than half of her five-year prison sentence.

MEXICO CITY (apro).- The Attorney General's Office (FGR) challenged the order to release Rosalinda González Valencia, wife of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes "El Mencho," leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), so the case will be sent to a Collegiate Court of Appeals.

Víctor Beltrán García, Rosalinda González Valencia's lawyer, reported that the defense has already responded to the arguments that the FGR presented to challenge.

“The response to the grievances of the public ministry has already been presented, it is a benefit that the lady has obtained at this time, because of the time she has served with excellent performance in all the activities that have been imposed on her in this detention center,” he said.

He added that his client does not have another complaint, criminal case or arrest warrant pending against her and explained that the Court of Appeals has three to five business days to resolve the challenge.

According to the lawyer, if the Court confirms the judge's decision, Rosalinda González should be released immediately.

Proceso reported last week that a federal judge granted conditional release to Rosalinda González, who has already served more than half of her five-year prison sentence, which was imposed on her for the crime of money laundering.

In Teuchitlán, authorities found and dismantled an apparent organized crime recruitment camp at the end of January. At the site, 38 people were arrested by elements of the Mexican Army, National Guard and Attorney General's Office; today 36 are free. Here are the details and an update on the case:

A judge released 36 of the 38 people arrested on January 29 at an organized crime training camp located in the municipality of Teuchitlán, Jalisco; the defense managed to prove that the released people were recruited against their will.

After a hearing that lasted five days in the federal courts of the Puente Grande penitentiary complex, the judge decided to bring to trial only two people who were allegedly in charge of the training camp and charged them with the crimes of organized crime, deprivation of liberty and forced disappearance.

The camp was located by elements of the Defense, the National Guard and the Attorney General's Office near the town of La Vega and in addition to the arrest of the 38 people who were there, chemical precursors, tactical equipment, radio communicators, chargers and live cartridges were seized.

During the hearing, it was revealed that the 36 people released were recruited through deception and then forced to stay in the camp, where they were allegedly subjected to torture and training as hitmen.

As of Friday, authorities have not reported whether any of the 36 people who were released on Thursday afternoon have been reported missing.

Europol’s Most Wanted Marco Ebben Killed in Mexico…Again?

Dutch drug trafficker Marco Ebben was reportedly killed in a parking garage near Mexico City. This is not the first time Ebben has been reported shot dead in Mexico.

In May last year, Ebben briefly spoke to the news outlet Rijnmond to say that he had nothing to do with a series of explosions targeting a plumber in Vlaardingen.

In June, Ebben was injured in a shooting in Turkey in which he was reportedly chased by men on motorcycles who opened fire on his armored car with an automatic weapon.

In late October last year, several sources told Rijnmond that Ebben had been killed in a shooting in Mexico.

Death First Reported in 2024

At that time, Marco's father, also a well-known drug trafficker and suspected killer in Schiedam, told De Telegraaf that Ebben died in a gunfight. It is believed Marco had allied with the MF/Mayito Faction in their war against Los Chapitos.



Imprisoned Dutch rapper Djaga Djaga posted a RIP message and image of Ebben on his Instagram @hetkind.

The Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reported in October that it took place on September 22 in Culiacán, Sinaloa.



His body had disappeared with only some leaked images of a bloody man being tended to by medics to provide proof. Dutch news outlets reported that the family stated his sister was in Mexico identifying the body of Marco at a morgue and his Russian wife was there as well.

Rotterdam detectives visited his family for more information, requesting an official death certificate. None was provided at the time.

"I no longer doubt that I have lost my son. Marco was always crazy about weapons and did not avoid dangerous situations despite warnings. He said he was convinced that he would not make it to 30 years. I hope that we can still say goodbye to his body," said father Henk Ebben, who says he is angry that the police keep approaching him. "They should leave us alone," he thinks.

But Marco was not dead at that time. Ebben’s death in this recent shootout has not yet been officially confirmed by Dutch authorities just yet either.



Ebben has been on Europol’s list of wanted criminals for some time now. In October 2020, the court sentenced Ebben to 7 years and 4 months in prison for drug trafficking over 400 kilos of cocaine from Brazil to the Netherlands. He still had to serve a prison sentence in the Netherlands for his role in the drug trafficking case involving corrupt customs officer Gerrit G.

He claimed his travel and lavish-living lifestyle was because of his rich Russian in-laws and connections to governmental figures in Russia and Italy. But his underworld connections supposedly stretched also into Turkey, China, New Zealand and Albania, speaking several different languages.

In Mexico, he became close to the Mayo faction. Possibly back as far as 2013 when Chino Anthrax was arrested in the Netherlands, at the time, Marco was already working for his father, known trafficker Henk Ebben.



Shooting in Mexico City

In July of 2024, he had traveled to Sinaloa, Mexico on a Russian passport soon after the attack in Turkey. He traveled there to supposedly going to support the La Mayiza faction led by Ismael Zambada Sicairos 'Mayito Flaco'.

Users on Reddit were claiming that the group sporting the Dutch flag was actually created by Marco Ebben, who went by the alias “El Fantasma,” and was essentially a hired mercenary in Mexico fighting for Mayito Flaco’s faction in their war against the sons of "El Chapo."

Nothing had been seen or reported about Ebben since that time, until now. Clearly, he was not killed in Sinaloa last year. Reports of his death in a parking garage outside of Mexico City and the seizure of weapons belonging to Ebben and his men.



Marco Ebben was found on February 13, in between two cars, reportedly shot 15 times. He was heading towards his armored Cadillac Escalade in the parking lot of Plaza Antigua, Atizapán de Zaragoza, Mexico City.

According to Mexican media, Ebben was killed just before a planned operation to raid his safehouse was to occur. Less than 15 minutes was the time difference and it is possible he was warned of the raid and was attempting to flee and the gunmen took advantage of that.




His Level 5 armored Cadillac Escalade, was previously registered in Nuevo Leon and sold for nearly $150,000 USD.








Fake DEA ID

Among his personal belongings was a fake DEA identification badge in his wallet. The poor quality forgery features the correct El Paso DEA office address but the incorrect DEA insignia (or even a current DOJ seal. The Special Agent In Charge named on the badge is Jesus Antonio Velas[]quez Rivas.



He also had a Mexico voting ID card in the same false name so he could pose as a local or an American DEA agent. However, if discovered together, the two IDs contradict each other. Plus, a tall Dutchman using a Mexican name, pretending to be an American DEA agent also isn't the most under the radar method of hiding out in Mexico.

According to Mexican reporter Antonio Nieto, Ebben met with two DEA agents in December and that may be the reason the Dutchman was murdered.



Captured after the discovery of his body was 4 of his gunmen/bodyguards, one posing as a police officer. Those arrested also included a former Mexican Navy SEMAR soldier and an element of the Mexican Army, originally from Guerrero.



Inside the safehouse was a variety of weapons, body armor, knives and even part of a ghillie suit.



Ebben was reportedly ambushed and shot 15 times by 2 men using .223 and 9mm weapons. According to reports, no one came to his defense and the blood seemingly is only visible under Ebben's body; indicating an inside job, or he could in fact be faking his death yet once again.

This time, unofficially, Mexican authorities have confirmed his death. Experts confirmed Ebben's identity, an official at the state prosecutor's office told AFP, asking not to be named because they were not authorized to talk about the case.
"I have seen the photos. It seems very likely that it is my client," lawyer Jan-Hein Kuijpers told the news agency. "His father also thinks it is Marco."...Again.

Mexico's Security Chief Harfuch Quietly Formed UNO, an Elite Federal Police Force to Take on Cartels

Six years ago Mexico’s president disbanded the country’s Federal Police and handed security responsibilities fully to the military. Now, his successor has quietly begun to build an elite civilian investigative and special operations force to fight the drug cartels.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum had already shown a willingness early in her presidency to move away from former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s oft-criticized “hugs, not bullets” strategy. It focused on addressing the social roots of crime rather than directly confronting Mexico’s powerful cartels.

Sheinbaum's security chief, Omar García Harfuch, is drawing on his law enforcement contacts — mostly from the former ranks of the Federal Police — to claw back security capabilities from the armed forces with a civilian force under his direct command.

The government has yet to formally announce the new Unidad Nacional de Operaciones, known by its Spanish initials UNO, but its existence is an open secret among former members of the Federal Police, where García Harfuch started his career.

Three Mexican officials, all of whom requested anonymity to speak about the still unannounced force, confirmed its existence to The Associated Press.

Security analyst David Saucedo, who has spoken with people who have joined the force, said he believes García Harfuch's main objective is to have an armed force that allows him to meet demands from Washington.

UNO (National Operations Unit)

The unit began to form shortly after Sheinbaum took office. It now has 250 members and hopes to have 800 by the end of the year, said one federal official, who is familiar with many of the unit’s details.

On Monday, while García Harfuch was in Washington meeting with the Trump administration, the security ministry published a call for college graduates to make up “the first generation of investigative and intelligence agents,” only saying they will be part of a specialized group to strengthen the country’s security.

UNO will have three branches distributed geographically across Mexico, as well as a high-impact team that will be the “elite of the elite,” the federal official said.

Its current members are mostly former Federal Police and members of the special operations team García Harfuch created when he was Mexico City’s police chief. Most have previously received training from security forces from the United States, Colombia, Spain or France.

His challenge is rebuilding the trust of his U.S. counterparts after López Obrador limited U.S. agents’ movements in Mexico and do it as President Donald Trump pressures Mexico to step up the fight against fentanyl trafficking.

Federal Police Disbanded Under AMLO

Shortly after taking office, López Obrador replaced the Federal Police with a new force, the National Guard, that he sold to the public as civilian, but that was always led by and made up of the armed forces.

He lambasted the Federal Police as too corrupt to save and made Mexico’s former security chief Genaro García Luna, then facing trial in the U.S. and eventually convicted of working for the Sinaloa cartel, the poster child. He cut funding for training and equipping local police.

What followed were six years of what critics decried as militarization that effectively concentrated unprecedented authority in the hands of the armed forces.

Despite that, levels of violence remained stubbornly high and critics said the cartels grew stronger, fueled by soaring revenue from fentanyl. One of the main criticisms of the National Guard and military was that while they had numbers and fire power they did not have the investigative skills needed to dismantle large criminal organizations.

García Harfuch was initially a “toothless tiger,” who was frequently denied resources, information and investigative files by other security entities, said Saucedo, based in Guanajuato state, Mexico’s most violent. UNO puts an elite force under his direct command.

The Mexican federal official denied that UNO’s objective was to satisfy Trump, but noted the unit was involved in the unprecedented delivery of 29 high-profile cartel figures to the United States at the height of negotiations between the two countries to suspend threatened tariffs. They were pulled out of prisons all over Mexico, assembled and sent to the U.S. without incident.

The challenge: avoid corruption. Special operations forces, be it from the Navy, Army, Federal Police or state police, have a checkered history in Mexico, having been involved in many scandals and abuses of power, extrajudicial killings and infiltration by cartels.

“There have been a lot of cases that were bad,” said the previously quoted federal official, who added that there were also honest police. He said the security ministry is emphasizing stricter screening, exhaustive background investigations and better pay once they’re in.

García Harfuch’s influence also extends to states where Sheinbaum's party holds power. People he trusts are taking key security positions and UNO will train state special operations teams that are also made up of many former Federal Police.

The southern state of Chiapas, where Mexico’s most powerful cartels are battling for control of smuggling routes, announced a special operations force in December called the Pakal with some 500 members. Two members told the AP they were ex-Federal Police and did eight months of specialized training to join the Pakal.
But doubts remain. For Saucedo, since the new elite force doesn’t yet have effective internal controls and accountability mechanisms, “there’s no guarantee that this elite group won’t commit the excesses committed by other special operations groups.”

Christopher Landau, US Undersecretary of State, condemned the "glorification" of El Mencho, leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), and confirmed the revocation of visas for members of Los Alegres del Barranco following their two concerts in which images of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes were projected.

In a message on his X account, Landau shared a video of the event and noted that, although he "firmly believes in freedom of expression, that does not mean it should be exempt from consequences. The Mexican group Los Alegres del Barranco disseminated images glorifying the drug trafficker 'El Mencho'—leader of the bloody CJNG cartel—at a recent concert in Mexico."

The US official also emphasized that the Trump administration takes its responsibility to regulate foreign access to its territory very seriously, stating that "the State Department has revoked the work and tourist visas of the group's members." "We're not going to roll out the red carpet for those who glorify criminals and terrorists," he added.

The first report was filed on Cristóbal Colón Street, at the corner of Indio de Galata Avenue, where these three men were located. They had arranged to meet the two lawyers and the other person at the same location. The three men were surprised by several gunmen carrying high-powered rifles, who fired multiple shots at close range until they were killed. The three victims were left dead next to a recently damaged, armored black Volkswagen Jetta. While witnesses notified authorities, at the same time, the same individuals attacked a three-story residence located on the same street, almost at the corner of Indio de Galata Avenue and Jicotenca Avenue. These individuals broke down the gate and entered the house, only to be shot. The interior and the fire were set on fire during the incident. Two vehicles that were in the garage were completely burned, and although authorities arrived quickly, they were unable to locate those responsible. Paramedics also arrived. They identified and, at first glance, confirmed that these three men were already dead. They had multiple bullet wounds to the body and head. Two of the men were identified a minute later.
