Rick Perry, Frontrunner
Texas Governor Vaults Into First Place
Last month Rick Perry jumped ahead almost 11 points, this month he did it again. The newest entrant into the GOP presidential field amassed almost 30% of the Straw Poll votes in August, clearly outpacing his opponents. Congratulations Governor Rick Perry!
Ron Paul's support finished relatively unchanged from last month, albeit this time in 2nd place. His support has remained steady without witnessing major fluctuations throughout the polling.
Sarah Palin supporters may be giving up on their hopes that she will enter the race as she took the biggest hit this month losing 5.3 points. Herman Cain continues to drop but only by 1.7 points this time. Jon Huntsman climbed up from obscurity by finally registering 1% but that result was only good enough to beat out Thaddeus McCotter who continues to garner little support. After steadily gaining for 5 straight months Michele Bachmann finally regressed a bit by losing 3.2 points.

Free trade is the process of free people engaging in market activity without government interference such as tariffs or managed-trade agreements. In a true free market, individuals and companies do business voluntarily, which means they believe they will be better off as a result of a transaction. Tariffs, taxes, and duties upset the balance, because governments add costs to the calculation which make doing business less attractive. Similarly, so-called managed trade agreements like WTO favor certain business interests and trading nations over others, which reduces the mutual benefit inherent in true free trade.
Free Trade With All, Entangling Alliances With None (September 21, 2001)
Free trade with all and entangling alliances with none has always been the best policy in dealing with other countries on the world stage. This is the policy of friendship, freedom and non-interventionism and yet people wrongly attack this philosophy as isolationist. Nothing could be further from the truth. Isolationism is putting up protectionist trade barriers, starting trade wars imposing provocative sanctions and one day finding out we have no one left to buy our products. Isolationism is arming both sides of a conflict, only to discover that you’ve made two enemies instead of keeping two friends. Isolationism is trying to police the world but creating more resentment than gratitude. Isolationism is not understanding economics, or other cultures, but clumsily intervening anyway and creating major disasters out of minor problems.
On the other hand, those of us who oppose using the taxes of American citizens to prop-up foreign governments or American corporations are derisively called “isolationists.â€Serve Bush with his letter of resignation.

Kurt Nimmo

September 1, 2011
Appearing on the Alex Jones Show yesterday, Rep. Ron Paul said the American people need to wake up and look at presidential candidate Rick Perry’s record and not be taken in by his patriot rhetoric.

Its true that Americans will pay more for foreign goods when tariffs are imposed. That has always been the case with tariffs, during the founding of the nation and today. It gives preferencial treatment to American goods. The founders saw that Britain was trading unfairly by levying greater tax rates on American goods than British. They sought to reverse that trend with their own tariffs, sanctified it in the Constitution, and used it agressively. To the point where it was the primary revenue source. That trend continued all the through American history until about 30 years ago.
We are NO LONGER a Producer Nation; we are a Consumer based Nation. So we are at a disadvantage from the get go. The Right answer as far as what I understand from Paul is that we need to bring Industry back to this Nation and go back to free trade and that is not what is going right now
We have not with cutting tariffs and free trade.
There is nothig to "go back to." We were never a free trading nation until the past few decades. We were always a protectionist nation, from its founding to relatively recently. As has been every other nation with a strong manufacturing base (Japan, Germany, China) and successful trade relationships in history.
It is very clear that (for whatever reasons) Ron Paul strongly disagrees with the founders here. He can not spin it. They believed in protectionism, and he doesn't. IMO it is because he is a libertarian first and foremost, and not really a Constitutionalist.Serve Bush with his letter of resignation.

In my heart of hearts I believe the next POTUS will be a one term President because of tough choices that have to be made
between now and the next election the financial aspect of this financial crisis will become clearer and it will not be for the better
I believe that that there is only one person out there that would get us OUT of all of these free trade agreements
Get us OUT of the WTO
and Hopefully get us out of the U.N. that he also opposses
Ron Paul opposses all of these destructive entities
there are few that know whats going on in the monetary system and has the gumption to rein it all in
there are few that would follow the constitution and do what the people wish .. and I believe the leader of that group is Ron Paul
free trade has crushed ths country; the rules of WTO and free trade agreemens off shored jobs as well as created this Immigration mess that goes directly to NAFTA and CAFTA
Ron Paul will make these hard choices so we can get back on track where we can get those Industry jobs back
this is our last chance
Ron Paul doesnt seek power like these other politicians; but he does seek to change the course of this countrys shp which is Floundering against the rocks as well speak
again... hard choices have to be made and because of the severity of those choices the people will praise / villafy the next man / woman like never before
If we get rid of the WTO; NAFTA; CAFTA and Hopefully the U.N. this country stands a chance against the Globalists and the World Bank - One World Government
as far as protectionism and Tariffs ... if we get rid of all of the above and the next POTUS is a one term president as I think the next several will be; we can put up Tariffs and stop the dumping of goods onto the U.S. market and put up some sore of trade barriers to protect jobs and the citizens
If not... this country is ToastJoin our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
