Give me a break, Judy. Jeff Sessions has the right idea going out with a public announcement that he will prosecute all folks who cross our borders illegally and separate children from their parents. Whether it happens or not remains to be seen, but taking such a threat public will no doubt get the attention of those wishing to enter our country illegally, especially those with children. The public announcement will hopefully making some potential illegals reconsider. In my view, it's way past time we start sending a strong message to those illegals that choose to break our immigration laws and I commend Sessions and the Trump administration for sending out the message that our border is closed to illegal immigration.

As for Secretary Nielsen. The Border Patrol is tasked by law to perform an initial interview on all asylum seekers. As for how many are actually passing the initial interview, to my knowledge that information has not been made public.

Lastly, you have absolutely no idea what Trump thought was going to happen. Not unless you're a mind reader or his personal confidant.

I know what Trump thought because he announced it. He sent troops to the border to support his announcement. He said they're not coming in and sent troops to keep them from coming in. Honestly, you don't have to be a mind reader to know what Trump thought would happen, you just have to listen to him tell you what he wants to happen, and what he orders to happen, what he sent troops to make sure happens, which is what he thought would happen.

I hate to be the one to bust your bubble, but not all of Trump's thoughts are his own. Furthermore, his thoughts, whether they're his own or someone else's frequently change depending of the flavor of his adviser at the moment. Hopefully he's taking a lot of advice from his immigration adviser Stephen Miller. Maybe, as hard as it is to believe, he's even taking input from his Attorney General.

As for sending the NG to the border, well, Obama did it, Bush did it, the Governor of Texas did it .... it's not a unique thing. Geez, as far as we know that advice came from John Kelly or Stephen Miller. Please don't get so hung up in you admiration of Trump that you forget willingness to act on the advice of others.

Former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano was pretty much responsible for crafting DACA. So what's your point? I hope you're not implying Obama created the program.

The military is a bad example. I had a neighbor who was in the Navy for 20 or 30 years. He got out and took a civilian job as a foreman. But he soon go called on the carpet. They told him that he could not order his subordinates around like when he was in the Navy, they would just quit, an option military Enlisted people don't have.

When President Reagan was shot, and Alexander Haig said "I am in control here at the White House", the country gave a collective gasp because they don't generally trust a military man in charge of our government.
