Thread: So I have to be NICE to them too???

Get this...a couple of my co-workers were discussing the national guard being at the border. One of my co-workers said that he felt the illegals already here are going to get amnesty, so we might as well accept it and be nice to them.

I asked him what he meant by "be nice to them" and he said, "Well, to begin with, try learning their language." (After I got up off the floor upon which I fell from laughing so hard) I asked him why not require them to learn OUR language. He said, "Because that would go against the principles of diversity."

So okay, maybe it's true. Maybe the illegals already here in the U.S. are going to get their bleeping amnesty. But if they do, I will not "be nice to them." Now, don't misunderstand me here....I'm a law-abiding person, so I won't be breaking any laws or violating anybody's civil or human rights, but nor will I be saying "Buenas Noches Hombre" either.

So screw em. If I have no choice but to live with them, at least I DO have the choice to shun them (well, last time I checked it was still legal to ignore a person).

BS if they are going to get their bleeping amnesty!!! I'm not accepting that at all.
I will also be nice, but I refuse to learn their language!! This is America, and if they speak to me in 'espanol', I will continue my practice of asking for someone who can habla ingles.

If they get their amnesty, I doubt they will care if anyone is 'nice' to them. Their attitude (for the most I've seen) is that they matter and we don't. They think it's a done deal.

So screw em.

I don't know what is going to happen if they get amnesty. I think there will be some serious problems maintaining the peace if that happens.

I don't know. The amnesty they got in 1986 seemed to pass by unnoticed by most Americans.

True, but those were different times. Also, that amnesty was only supposed to be for 1-2 million (ended up being 3 million). We're now talking about 10-20 million - there is no way of knowing the real number. With internet, CSPAN, cable news, etc. - no way our congress is going to sneak anything by the middle class like they did in 1986. Furthermore, illegal immigration in 1986, for the most part, was a lot more isolated. Now we have illegals serving in some capacity in almost every industry, crowding the prisons & schools, etc. Oh how times have changed!

No, my resolve hasn't dissolved...just preparing myself, just in case.

The Amish "shun" their own, so I don't see a problem if one shares in those "religious" beliefs!

In the Peoples Republic of Austin the city has proposed to give all Spanish speakers on the city payroll a $160 month stipend. If I were younger I'd move to Australia. No Spanish spoken there and the fish are huge.

If amnesty is a for sure thing for illegals, people will be crossing our borders like crazy to get in on the action.
