2nd, I have noticed the gold as well as the nice vehicles they have (better than our little 86 Subaru).

We went into Best Buy to poke around on Friday evening for our 13 year old sons sake, and they were all over that place, it was mainly the men and they were all looking at the big TV's and video equipment as well as stereo stuff too. Our son came out with a $43.00 personla CD player he had saved for, while the husband and I just oohed and aahed at the appliances.

I have seen them come out of Walmart at Christmas time with minvans loaded to the gills with stuff. And a little side story to that. After having been to a local charity around Christmas with a friend who received help after a violent seperation, I watched an illegal couple loaded their vehicle with boxes of gifts and food.

Three days later my husband and I were at Walmart doing our shopping and saw that same couple with a cart full of toys and other items as well as a lot of food in another cart!!

I was flabbergasted. Here we were pinching pennies to make Christmas nice for our kids and these people had just robbed Salvation Army blind when they had money all along. Now I know there are people in all ethnic groups of Americans who could be accused of this, but it is very likely they are not legal, which to me makes it more offensive.

    B.S. MY FAMILY IS STRUGGLING.

Anchor Babies: born in the USA - Enormous taxpayer costs
    1. Article by Stephany Gabbard and Frosty Wooldridge

If you don’t think our Congress is taking Americans for a ride, think again. According to Dr. Madeleine Cosman, "At least 300,000 to 350,000 anchor babies annually become citizens in California." In 1994, 74,987 anchor babies in maternity units cost taxpayers $215 million in Stockton, California. In 2003, 70 percent of the 2,300 babies born in San Joaquin General maternity ward were from illegal aliens. That number has exploded today with over three million illegal aliens residing in California.
The French economist Frederic Bastiat said, "The unseen is more expensive than the seen." In Stockton, California, the Silverio Family was featured in the Wall Street Journal in 2003. They were fruit pickers who arrived illegally from Oxtotilan, Mexico in 1997. The wife, Felipa had three kids, but popped an anchor baby named Flor. The child was premature and spent three months in a neonatal incubator at a cost to the San Joaquin Hospital of over $300,000.00. They conceived another, Christian. The second baby made them eligible for $1,000 per month welfare. Because Flor is disabled, she receives $600.00 monthly for asthma. Although the illegal aliens made $18,000.00 annually picking fruit, they collected $12,000.00 of your tax dollars for their anchor babies. One night the father, Cristobal crashed his van. He had no license or insurance. Taxpayers paid for all hospital bills. That’s why 77 hospitals in border states were going bankrupt in 2003, but Senator John McCain wrote a rider into the Medicaid Bill for $1.4 billion of your tax dollars. It passed. Not to finish the spending spree on these anchor babies, the children attend California schools at a cost of $7,000.00 per year over and above what their parents pay in taxes. The cost for all five of their children for one school year exceeds $35,000.00 times 18 years for a grand taxpayer total of $630,000.00. This is only one family. No wonder California is $38 billion in debt.
Additional costs for illegal alien children stem from translators, advocates and middlemen. MediCal in 2003 sponsored 760,000 illegal aliens. Supplemental Security Income is a non-means-treated federal grant of money and food stamps. Be assured that scams and fraud run rampant. Over 500,000 ‘mentally disabled kids’ are on drugs for ADHD and ODD. One lady, Linda Torres was arrested in Bakersfield with $8,500.00 in small bills in her pocket. It was her SSI lump award for her disability, which was heroin addition.
Just so Americans across the country don’t feel left out, let’s move to Georgia. Net Fiscal Costs of Illegal Immigration for Georgia: Births of illegal aliens in Georgia cost to taxpayers:
    2000-- 5,133 births cost: $13 million
    2001-- 9,528 births cost: $23 million
    2002—11,188 births cost: $27 million
Additionally, receiving public assistance in 2002 for 25,000 children of illegal aliens cost Georgia taxpayers $42 million annually. Health care costs to Georgia taxpayers for illegal aliens in 2002 was 64,000 doctor visits which ran Grady Health System into a $63 million deficit. What is it in your state? This picture is a small window into the massive fraud being perpetrated on your wallet by your congressional leaders. What is your senator or congressman doing about it? The simple answer fulfills French economist Bisbiat’s rule of the unseen. Your congressional reps assist this fraud! They encourage it every day by doing nothing about 2,200 illegal aliens crossing our borders and they have done nothing since 9/11 to deport the estimated 13 million that are already here.

With over one million illegal aliens arriving annually, they birth 300,000 anchor babies in California alone and you pay the maximum. When those legal ‘American’ babies grow to 18, they can ‘chain migrate’ their kin into our country. We’re talking about a crisis SO huge, your children and this country will not survive it.

I don't know if Las Vegas if different form the rest of the country in this respect but the Hispanic people I see here (I didn't ask but I'm sure a large percentage are illegal) are fat, especially the women.

Besides, why would you have six babies WHEN YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO FEED ONE!!!!

A man is accountable for his actions, are there any men in Mexico? I see millions of illegals acting like spoiled 12 year olds, the achor babies have become more then a problem, they are a plague.

I'm so sick of this crap!

redwhiteandbluelatino, I appreciate your candor on this. Not one of us would associate a patriot of Latino heritage with one of the illegal Latinos. I personally prefer to give people the benefit of doubt before I make a judgement call on them and their actions.

I do have a question though, if you do not mind.

Yesterday we drove up to Hood River, Oregon from our home in the town of Gresham (about 45 miles away). Here in Gresham, most of the illegals who live here (more than not work in the local nurseries) for the most part keep to themselves and seem fairly polite. The main problem in this area (being within a city metro area) are gangs.

However when we arrived in Hood River (apple capitol of Oregon), we stopped in a local grocery store to get something to eat and drink, we pulled into the store and five guys, I have to assume were illegal because this is a farming community, gave us the dirtiest look they could. This kept happening all over town, even on the backroads we took to one of the local farms. Dirty looks everywhere.

I had to assume that it was not just us, this happens with all. I saw very few Latino women in the town (which also made me think these guys had come here illegally leaving wives back in Mexico).

Do these guys come over with a major chip on their shoulder and then after having lived in a city (like where we live) for a while mellow out? I wondered if anyone wouldknow what that was about?

This was our third trip into the Hood River valley over the summer, as it is extremely scenic there. Each time we got those same glares.

redwhiteandbluelatino, or anyone else has insight into this let me know, I am quite curious.

What happens is this there all kinds of people in latin countries , people like you, better than you, worse than you, and etc etc, But what is coming here are por peasants, some farmers with no education at all!! mostly from mexico, Honduras and other Central American countries, this people are about 60 years behind modern culture BECAUSE THEIR CORRUPTED GOV CONTINUES TO LET THEM DOWN AND THEN YOU MUST add the hurracaine Mitch and the Sandinistas war effect and that takes them back another 30 years into the past, overall Hispanics are happy go lucky and very friendly people, but some like the ones you met are feaurful don't trust anyone due to their illegality plus their ignorance, they only know what they hear from the coyotes or some other ignorant peasant , i have dealt with some like that and I have been amazed by their extreme ignorance!!! i am from South - America and the education and cultural level is 100 years ahead of this people, AND THEN YOU GIVE THIS PEOPLE A CASE OF MILLER BEER AND THE KEYS TO A SUV AND YOU HAVE THE FORMULA FOR DESTRUCTION!!

One thing I have noticed living where I do, is that they tend to fall prey to what we all call "urban myths", within their own culture.

The first I found out about was when we first moved here. I have a large black and white cat (15 pounds) who follows me anywhere I walk. I walked to the laundry room and he of course followed and then jumped up on the washer to be near me, this woman in the apartment nearby had just started walking out of her door when she saw this, she jumped back several feet, screamed and shut her door, then watched me and my cat walk away. She came out after I and my cat where nowhere near her door.

Whenever the cat would follow one of us to the mailbox or dumpster, most of the older women would avoid us. We asked about that and a lady in one office (from Mexico herself) said that some of the less "worldly" people tend to associate cats with evil, essentially witchcraft. Hence the reason many of the women would never talk to me, and why some of the kids here see our cats and walk a long way around them (well now my cat can be a little evil at times!).

We also have heard some really funny notions they held too. One was that we (American military or police) have some type of infrared that picks up on where the "Spanish" speaking people are, now every time they hear a military helicopter or plane, or even commercial helicopter go overhead, they will actually run inside. Our son tried to tell one kid this is not true. He seemed not sure what to believe.

I have seen and heard some pretty strange things since living here, but the cat one really gets me, hmmmmm.......think I have an idea for a Halloween costume!

    LIZ
let's look on the bright side here!
We don't need a multi billion dollar fence or billions spent on any sophisticated plan

all we need is...........thousands of black and white cats lounging on the border. We take care of the millions of stray cats and solve the border crossing problem at one time.

Hot Damn, LIZ.......you just solved the problem with good ole American know how!!

I cannot say for sure that they all have those beliefs, just some this woman told me.

My daughters ex-boyfriend was raised in Pasadena and from a Spanish-Mexican family (parents immigrated here before he was born), anyways he was in the Navy (we lived in a Navy town), this was how she met him.

He told her many things regarding Mexico, about how the Meztisos (did I spell that right?) were not liked, how they were "bad" people (I will not use the word he told her). He also said a lot of them believed in a lot of superstitious things. He did tell her one of those things had to do with cats. She does not remember what it was though.

Yeah that would be funny, a little fuzzy border fence!!
