NoBueno: Your story reminds me of my last visit to the Gurnee IL WalMart. All of the PA announcements were in Spanish so I just left my cart where it was and left. On the way out, I spoke with the manager and asked for the address of the nearest WalMart where AMERICANS could shop. He sputtered a bit and assured me that I could always shop at his store. I then asked him to translate all of the announcements that were in Spanish so I could take advantage of the special sales. Needless to say, I haven't been back.

My question to you is, why give any business your money that doesn't/didn't have English speaking employees?

Not only would it be annoying, but giving them your $$$ is feeding into the non-assimilation problems, IMHO. Of course where you shop is entirely up to you, but just curious.
I understand but sometimes that is easier said than done. It's hard to find any type of landscaping or gardening business here in Houston where employees speak English. Eve if they are owned and operated by Americans. Being that I have no access to plants, soil, mulch and fertilizer other than what is sold at the local nursery and garden center, we are pretty much forced to either do business with them or do without.

Some of these type of problems are easily solved. Since all of the landscapers are non-English speakers, I mow my own yard and do all the landscaping. However, I am one of the few in my community. So every day we have pick-ups all over the place with crews of illegals mowing yards. All except mine.

I understand BigTex. It's a sad state of affairs when we can't get English speakers for even our most basic shopping needs. They have taken over landscape businesses here, along with construction and retail. There is a Sears at the local mall that is run entirely by spanish speakers. However, it's easy for me not to shop there.

Hey, good news. The guy that scoops the dog poop out of our yard is 100% no habla American. Yes, he was hard to find. Tree service as well - all American. I'm hoping more people will make the effort.

Good stories. Yeah, our gardener is American, oh, wait, it's my 14 year old son and me...never mind, just two more Americans doing the jobs that the illegals here do not get to do!!!!LOL

ReggieMay, good job!!! That is ridiculous for them to be making announcements in any other languagein this nation in anything other than English!

We were in Hood River Oregon visiting, and the Wally's there does this, and we walked out making it loud and clear that this is America and the announcements should be in English, and so long as they were in Spanish, we would shop in a store that valued us, Americans, and our hard earned dollars enough to make their announcements in English. Yeah, we got plenty of dirty looks, but...whatever!!

I think it's time Americans start getting together and start American stores for Americans with all American products and employees. I would love to see that happen. I bet Americans are innovative to get this done with out to much aggravation from liberals/illegals.

an empty remittance store that is a very good sight to see.

I love tall grass and weeds if it means that all illegals would just go home.

    Bye Bye !
We can't deport them all ? Just think of the fun we could have trying!

    That is good news.

We recently had a group of young men painting our neighbors house. They were part of "college painter." They only work during the summer when school is out. My hubby went and talked to them and asked if they hired illegal aliens. He said, "NO". He said we have students of different ethnicities but never illegals. So we got a estimate from him.

They did a good job, NO loud music playing, were respectful with their music coming in and out with their cars and respectful when speaking with us.

I saw some idiot today (I think on MSNBC) say that 40% of our produce is picked by illegals, and said, "Can you imagine if 40% of our produce in grocery stores is gone." This is pure propaganda, demogaugery. No moron, it means that 40% of the field will see Americans more gainfully employed, and the other 60% will see a pay raise. On the downside, consumers will have to pay an extra dime for a head of lettuce
