The article said that Republicans will not allow it, so maybe that means that McConnell has instructed his Republicans to vote NO on everything so the Democrats wont get 60 votes?
    Howdy truepatriot,

If this is accurate I will be doing cartwheels in the family room. Can you find the article for us?
    Regards

I have tried to find it but i cant, maybe its because its a OP-ED written by McConnell and not a article written by a reporter. If i remember correctly the title was " Passing a stand alone Defense Bill will show our troops we are still with them" or something to that effect i cant exactly remember it

Check out this website from a pro-Dream Act amnesty group; looks like they have been targeting McConnell, as they know he has influence over other GOP senators. BTW, I called McConnell's office three times on Friday but was put on hold each time. So please make sure to call & fax him on Monday:

Excerpt from pro-Dream Act amnesty group, link to full site at bottom:

    Calling Blitz
We have adopted a plan to rotate through calling 10 senators every 3 days. This way everyone has a chance to call each of the senators on the list. Every 3 days, we will post a new list of 10 senators.

Calling Blitz its DO or DIE

Over the break we have done as much as we can regarding gaining support for the Dream Act.. But no matter how many Senators have changed their mind in our support, we have to pressure the big dogs who have the only say in what comes to the Senate floor and what does not. We can have 80 cosponsors but unless they agree to bring it to the floor, it will never pass…. Here are the people we have to put more pressure on than ever before, this is not about annoying them, this is about letting them know that we have been patient, and have waited long enough and the time for action is NOW!!!

One of the most important people here is Senator McConnell the leader of Republicans and if he votes YES for Dream Act, you can surely expect half of Republicans to vote the same as him, since he has so much influence!

Well, we've heard it now from them and on another post that Mitch McConnell is the key. He can block some amendments from being attached which would make the necessary quorom 60 rather than 50. Start calling his offices in Kentucky and DC early Monday morning.

Excuse me . . . I have been here 18 years of my 20 year life, i had no choice coming here. The U.S is all i know. . . is that clear? Thus, I have literally never immigrated anywhere... i was brought here. Secondly, my sisters, who happen to be a couple years younger and BORN in the U.S (citizens) do NOT want to go to college, nor are they interested in benefiting this country... and I AM. Thirdly, my cousins practice the Mexican culture, they are Mexican at heart and all around. They go back to Mexico every month because they are able to, they are "residents" of the U.S. And me? . . . I rarely even speak Spanish... is that making any sense here?... So Excuuuuse me! . . . You better review in your head why exactly you are against the DREAM act, because if it did pass... I guarantee that your life will be EXACTLY the same. I f the DREAM act passes.... ten years later your life will be EXACTLY what it would be ten years later if it didn't. This goes for the country as well. By the way, we have followed every law in this country, this is our culture. We are American, we just don't have the title. You are TOO late brothers and sisters..... look at all the already citizen people who immigrated here illegally. Look at all the citizens in the U.S who can't even speak English. You are too late...! got it? . . . You're wasting your time. . . think about it. Fight against something that will actually benefit you. duh...

Found out today that my senator is a co-sponsor. So I called him immediately and also faxed him. Told him if he doesn't remove his sponsorship, I will never vote for him.

I am going to call him again tomorrow, Monday.

I love how these DREAMers claim to be "American" and that they only know English yet they can't make a coherent sentence, much less a good argument.

Oh yeah, EX_OC, Crapo's been at the forefront of this whole thing. Please do get on the horn to him. And thank God, Larry Boy's days are history. He was another one.

    Latest insight from opposition:

Ok so we need 60 right?! We have 45 Democrats so that means we need 15 Republicans.. They should support us.. Stevens, Murkowski, McCain, Kyl, Craig or Johnson, Crapo, Lugar,Brownback, Snowe, Collins, Hagel, Voinovich, Specter, Graham, Hatch, Warner (Already 16).... There are several more that should also support us as Domenici, Cochran etc.. I cannot see us losing this vote, i just cant
