I saw Mike in the hall but I didn't get to speak with him. I spent 45 minutes with his point man on immigration who I have been in contact with many times. He's solid so far...Thanks for all you did up there! BTW, did you see Craig or Crapo?
Didn't bother with Craig but FAIR had teams organized and I met a veteran who spoke with Craig's point man and said he was polite. This veteran was amazing, he had all the votes written down and I know he hit them hard.
BTW my daughter took a tour of the capital with Crapo's rep and another family and they were really down on Craig, but Craig is gearing up for reelection apparently. We need to hammer that sucker, SOSAD. I told my contact in Crapo's office how he lied to my face and what about and he winced. Craig is probably going to try to lie to the people of Idaho to get reelected and we cannot let him!!!

A couple other follow-up observations. Many of those who favor amnesty are in complete denial about the ramifications. There are some who try to tell you (and they try to convince themselves) that comprehensive immigration reform will be the less costly solution even though this would require paying out probably a half trillion $ in entitlement benefits each year. There are those who state that the costs of amnesty would be "trivial" compared with the Iraq war. The reality is that amnesty would be far costlier than the Iraq war because we are already paying out benefits each year in excess of what the Iraq war is costing, and we haven't even experienced the onslaught from chain migration subsequent to an amnesty. The Iraq war is finite. The effects of amnesty will go on indefinitely. The Dems are willing to sacrifice America's poor, her existing minority and lower-skilled citizens who have had difficulty finding decent jobs due to the competition from illegals, and our environment - all for the Chamber of Commerce, big business, campaign contributions, future votes, and to consolidate their power.
You mean nothing to those in Washington, especially the Democrats. They have made their priorities clear, and they do not include you.
Therefore, trying to reason with them in the way that any sane person would is in my opinion rather pointless. They need to feel fear of losing their Congressional seats. They need to feel your anger and outrage over how they are selling out American citizens and the future of our country.

OK, also the Blue Dog Dems have they signs in the halls by their offices about the national debt and social security, but many are ready to look the other way on the costs of this outrageous bill--the STRIVE ACT.They need to be politely told this is a budget busting, taxpayer revolting, environment destroying, overpopulating, monster of a bill!!!!
They cannot be allowed to get away with this, so hit them hard with the numbers $400 billion per year and more than 200 million people added to our population by 2050 under the STRIVE Act!
Here's the link to the Blue Dogs with all their numbers, too:

I don't think they realize how many of us are behind them championing them! They are human and as such are subject to feeling left out, discarded and ignored by the press which has gone out of its way to invalidate them. It must be maddening to know you have the right message and to know that it isn't being heard. To see your peers live it up with the lobbyists, wineing and dining them.
I noticed something that Tancredo said....he said in his interview with William that he received some really nice cigars, expensive ones. He really really wanted them (being human) but knew he couldn't keep them because of the price and gift limits.
Honesty. Integrity. Decency. Rule following.
This is a man we need in office. He has a web site. Do you know that it has a blog set up there?????
Do you know of any other member of congress that has a blog site and forum set up for its constituants? I say we let them all know we are out here....and OFTEN. I write him once a week, offering my support and letting him know how important he is to the future of this country.
We need to make them know that WE do know. Despite the media blackout. Despite the money weilding lobbyiests. WE know and WE are the ones that have a power that no chamber of commerce can ever have. WE vote. When all the money is spent, when the balloons at the primarys are deflated, when the news cameras move on to the next big celebrity story.....we will still be out here...and we will NOT forget who stood for us when the time came to vote.

Thanks for the up date Oliver! So the rat is going to run again huh, well your right we are going to have to hammer him, we need him gone. No doubt he will lie to the people. He goes against the majority of legislatures here on everything, you can tell by the bills passed here this year, so I think we have a good chance at getting rid of him.
You'll have to write some of your great articles and we will work together to get them out to all news papers across Idaho.
I'm sure we can think of some good things to do here, one thing is for certain the tides are changing in Idaho, people are affraid to lose what we have. And we have a great Governer in Otter. Rep Sali and Crapo aren't to bad we just have to keep reminding them where they stand on issues, Sali is new and affraid of not getting a second term.
Talk later, must go to the store.
JET LAG SUCKS!!

Kate and I got to hug Tancredo and get our picture taken with him (and no we're not going to post it)
and we'd been pounding the offices all day and felt bad because we were so sweaty and gross.

Just thought of something else: I was told by a Senate staffer that when a bill gets renamed "amnesty", it's DOA. Use 'amnesty' in phone calls about any bill from now on!
