Thread: What? Govt Agents Seize Oath Keeper's New Born From Hospital

I'm not jumping to any conclusions as of yet simply because the father seems to have had problems in the past with firearms which in turn could be interpreted as possibly endangering the children. But what i find odd is why the other children weren't taken as well if thats the case. The fact that he is with Oathkeepers has nothing to do with anything. There must have been an ongoing investigation with the father. In either case removing a newborn infant from its mother is over zealous and extreme to say the least, just order the father to leave the home pending a court hearing. That would have been the proper thing to do. Again a clear example of the state over reacting and making bad decisions.

What we have been given is merely page 1 of the legal documentation, but my take upon reading it is that this seizure of the child is more about the mother than about the father. In number 5 on the document, it discusses two other children of the mother whose father is apparently not Mr. Irish, and mentions a long history of social services involvement. A termination of parental rights is mentioned, which is an extremely rare and serious outcome. The document states that the final judgment has not yet been handed down, but is expected.

It was still very wrong and foolish of them to mention Mr. Irish's affiliation with Oath Keepers, and I predict that this will come back to bite the court. However, I'm getting the impression from what little documentation that has been shown, that Mr. Irish was not the prime cause for their concern. They may have just used their irritation with him to help them paint a picture of a home they wanted to remove a baby from.

I think Mr. Irish will be able to sue based upon the legal papers listing his involvement with Oath Keepers. It would be like taking someone's baby because they went to that La Porte Identity Church (Pete Peters). I don't know enough about the mother's situation and history, though. I suspect she needs more and better legal help than Mr. Irish at this point, and probably a year or more ago would have been better.
