Am I reading this message board correctly? I am seeing people on both sides of the line, and in between -- liberal and conservative -- pro-Bush and anti-Bush -- agreeing that illegal immigration is a serious problem and something needs to be done. I didn't expect this.
Like maybe go to some of these rallies and make some arrests. How about checking Identity papers and start enforcing the law, yes, deporitng them.
Good point, Truism, it's certainly helping to illustrate how polarized and frightening our immigration problem has become.
Junius and others: So, some of you think the President's statements in support of HR 4437 are just blowing smoke, and he really doesn't plan on doing anything at all about illegal immigration because their presence helps corporate America get its fill of cheap labor? I'd like to hear more about that.
Judy:
America should be watching their televisions and these protests in horror. It not only shows how many are here already but how organized they are. They have advocates, supporters, aiders and abetters. They are bold and daring and thus need to removed from our midst and premises IMMEDIATELY.
What we see on the streets today is not the face of America. What we see on the streets today is an army of foreign nationals prepared to do anything to take our country away from US.
Coto:
The Senate is getting very effective at ignoring constituents - thumbing their collective noses at constituents.
Somebody needs to enlighten our leftist news media. They're putting a far-left slant on their broadcasting of the illegals' protest marches. They're praising the "poor mistreated" illegals.
Judy:
Go home, march in the streets, call your politicians names, and change the condition of your country
LegalUSCitizen:
I'm not scared. There are many more of US. Besides, HR 4437, as I understand it, gives these people a window in which to legally go HOME. After that, they face the possibility of being charged with an aggravated felony. If the bill passes, pretty much as it is now, let's hope they don't gang up in the streets like this to continue the protest. That would be bad. But, individually, we can send them home. Some will go -- many will go -- to avoid the jail time. The ones who stay will probably be tracked down, one by one. It will take YEARS, but at least we will have sent a strong message that the United States belongs to its legal citizens and not a mob swarming across our borders.
Let's hope the bill actually PASSES in some form, and that it's ENFORCED. As Judy and others said, these demonstrations only serve to emphasize how long we've ignored the problem and how SERIOUS it's become. We can't let this go on. Even a faulty solution -- like HR 4437 -- is better than the current course of action.

abcrystcats,
Welcome to ALIPAC! Yes, the demonstrations seem to have had just the OPPOSITE effect than their planners intended. I don't think I've EVER seen so many couch potatoes THIS ANGRY.
Have you been to http://www.wehategringos.com/index2.shtml yet?
That's a REAL eye-opener!

I don't know the answer for sure, but may I submit?..... that if certain politicians have their way, (ie. Specter, Comrade Hillary, John McCain, John Cornyn, and Prince Charming of Chappiquidick) it will continue to worsen until it aligns with the transition timeline toward assimiliation into the New World Order, specifically, what globalists call "wage equalization." It's one side of the vice; the other is job elimination using India and Communist China. The target is middle class America and UK.
I need to ask a moderator question prior to posting new thread.
Any moderator - What is known about journalists and news reporters reading this Alipac website?
Not all. I read a fairly interesting article on CNN on the new puppy smuggling trade going on between Mexico and the United States. What the article DIDN'T bring up, but I do, is the danger of transporting diseases, parasites and so on along with the dogs. We're already sweating bullets waiting for the Avian Flu to hit Alaska. Enough already.
What part of "We don't owe our jobs to India" are you unable to understand, Senator?

For example, they should be protesting the corruption in Mexico that caused conditions to be so bad there that they decided to BREAK OUR LAW and SNEAK into our country!!!
If this country is so bad, why are they here!?! They need to take all their energy and put it to use by going back home and reforming their own countries and not attacking their savior country!!!All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing. -Edmund Burke

Thank you for the welcome, everyone --
I'll the link, ALIPAC (webmaster?) and I appreciate it.
Patbrunz and Coto: I browsed a good bit on this website and I see where you're headed with all this. I don't watch TV. I do read the papers occasionally, but get most of my news from the internet and daily life. We're headed in a direction, all right. It may sound like a conspiracy theory to say it out loud, but I believe there's a concerted effort underway to disenfranchise the American people. Not just economically, but in every way possible. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
I'm sick and tired of hanging out on websites where everyone espouses socialism as the universal answer to our economic problems. Are you kidding me?? The socialist ideal is one of the masks this Thing is wearing, but underneath it is just oppression. Equalization? What a lie. Unless you mean equal suffering and equal powerlessness. Don't get me started. I didn't have to come here to know that.
What shocks me is that I'm NOT the only one who sees this! No one talks about it.
Pat -- I don't have kids, and every week that goes by makes me happier I don't.
This website seems to focus on what's happening in the United States, but it's bigger than that.
I'll go read your article now.
