Thread: Why do they allow illegal immigration to continue?

BlueMellow, History has always been my favorite of all sujects. And never once did I ever read so much as one story of "ILLEGAL" immigrants coming through Ellis Island.

You mention "their" children. What about ours? Don't they deserve a good life? Or is letting in millions of 3rd world illegals supposed to somehow enrich their lives?

Yes, immigrants have come here from all over the world. And I would have to agree that this is what makes this country so wonderful. But the people history depicts came with the intention of becoming US Citizens, they didn't come to disrupt the way of life of the people who already lived here.

Now, we have literally millions of illegals with a chip on their shoulder who think that they are here to take over. We don't like it and there is no law that says we don't have to like it.

Perhaps while you are looking at your history books, you should also drag out a dictionary and look up the word "illegal." The people we are against are here illegally. That, in case you didn't realize it, means they are breaking the law by being here. I personally don't really give a hoot where they came here from illegally, I just want them out of here and I don't want any more to enter illegally.

Yeah, I'm curious, too. Do tell! Which ethnic group makes up the largest percentage of illegal aliens? And are you here visiting from ICE?

i do agree that it is a problem, but to say that president bush WANTS them to come in when he is actually strengthening the border through various methods such as more patrol agents and letting walls be built is a little bit insane. also to say that these people are uneducated and are willing to let authoritarian rule control their lives is insulting to them. they are trying to control their own destiny although they are doing it illegaly. this actually makes them seem more educated than you think-think of the ways that they try to come in here-who would have the patience to build underground tunnels? they know that there is something better here in america, which is more than what some of our native citizens would know! they idolize our country, which is something that you dont hear much from our politicians nowadays. these people are hard workers, and they are coming here to get more educated- they know that hard work pays off and that they are in control of their destiny not the government. to belittle them is insulting

Those underground tunnels don't have anything to do with those "poor souls" looking for a better life. Invariably, when there were tunnels discovered, there were drugs and/or human trafficking discovered right along with them.

I don't buy their fine educations. If they had any education, other than to invade the USA, they would have sense enough to know that there is a good probability of dying in the desert and that people who deal in human trafficking aren't the good guys.

Heelsgirl, dear, if he DIDN't want them here, the military would be on the border this very minute preventing this invasion which he continues every time he mentions his guest worker amnesty. Do some research and see how the number of illegals captured at the border increased right after his January 2001 speech. As far as "letting walls be built", the only reason the border fence is even mentioned in HB4437 is because people like us stayed on their representatives FORCING them to finally do something to protect what's left of this once great nation.

Insulting though it might be, that is the truth. Here again, so some research.

They were in control of their own destiny in their home countries. The fact that they find suckers in the US who want to feel warm and fuzzy makes it much easier here than to stand up to corrupt politicians at home. Come on, what government could put down a revolt of 15 MILLION citizens if they ever decided to stand up for themselves.

Are you really saying paying $1000-$2000 to coyotes to bring them here and then who hold them hostage demanding more money from their families ALREADY in the US educated?

Certainly there's something better in AMERICA but this does not give any illegal alien, no matter where s/he's from, the right to jump to the front of the line when there are MILLIONS of people trying to come here legally.

Idolize this country my foot. They are seeing how fast they can turn it into the third world they left behind.

Their hard work would be more appreciated in the countries of their origin I assure you where they could be again in control of their destinies.

Belittle them? How are we belittling anyone by demanding our borders be secured and ALL ILLEGAL ALIENS BE DEPORTED.

By the way, how many people do you know who've been displaced by illegals undercutting wages? How many children of US citizens do you know who no longer have a chance to get ahead in school because teachers are teaching to the bottom portion of the class?

What kind of life will they have if everyone wants to run off to America or setup drug smuggling operations? Drugs is the #1 reason Mexico has so much crime. Drugs are both the economic cash cow and problematic demise of Mexico.
5) You spoke of a gov't that they can believe in. Do you honestly believe that illegals come here because they respect our gov't and our beliefs? NO! IF that were true, they would come here legally just like their supposed to and respect our laws.

I believe the problem with Mexico is, it's become so dependent on the drug trade's money, that if the US were to somehow (*cough + laugh*) successfully close off it's borders and stop illegal immigration, then Mexico would be hurt badly from a economic standpoint.

I'm just amazed at how little our gov't supports stopping illegal immigration knowing that most of our drugs come from Mexico. If you stopped illegals from coming over, you would also stop a lot of drugs coming into this country. Then again, lot of US companies have facilities over in Mexico.

Do you really believe Bush is doing anything against illegal immigration voluntarily? If Bush had his way he would give full amnesty if he thought he could get away with it. However I'm sure he knows it would be the end of the republican party in doing so. Bush has had to be dragged kicking and screaming to the immigration debate. All this talk about the war on terror after 9/11 and border security was never discussed by the president even though it is an important security issue. We have no idea who is crossing the border illegally, and where they are coming from. Not all people crossing are good or nice people either from Mexico, Central, and South America. I do not see Bush out in front of his party pushing any strong ideas to curb it. He just keeps babbling about a guest worker program and little else, and the current proposals being pushed around now are minuscule in what really needs done. Bush is trying to fool the average uninformed citizens with weak ideas that will do nothing.

Where are you getting your information? Illegal immigrants generally have no respect for the United States, its laws, customs, and simply come here for only economic gain. They are not coming to be American citizens but to take from the country what they can for themselves. They violate any law they see fit to achieve it. They break immigration laws getting here, many avoid paying taxes, drive without licenses and insurance, commit all types of identity theft on American citizens, some exploit there own people by human trafficking and smuggling, and you can add many other crimes to the list that would take all day to discuss.

Getting more educated? Many illegals do not bother to learn the language or attempt to assimilate into the culture of the country. Many of the illegal immigrants coming here are not getting educated. Some of the biggest problems facing public schools are because many of the illegals are not taking education seriously. Low test scores and high drop out rates are a big issue overwhelming our schools.

Finally you must be kidding about idolizing this country. The illegals in my area do not like the United States and are more eager in turning the area into an extension of the country they fled from. Also I see no idolizing from all these illegal immigrant protesters parading around demanding their rights. If they love the United States so much why do they always wave flags from their own country, and not American flags? My suggestion to you is to browse the forum and ask some questions to get yourself informed what is actually going on.

Ditto on the illegal aliens in my area. In addition to that, the very same jobs that pay $12 or so per hour on the east coast get between five and six bucks an hour here! Good paying jobs here get about half as much annual salary as people doing the same jobs get in Boston, Mass. or Nashua, NH. I know these things for fact.

That is because a high percentage of illegals depress wages. Watch out east coast, as their numbers grow there!

I already am aware that construction wages in the state of NC are suffering because of the illegal laborers who will work doing dangerous jobs for minimum wage and do skilled labor for not much above minimum wage.

I shudder with disgust whenever I read or hear so-called educated Americans spewing their knee-jerk rhetoric wrapped in the guise of being informed about a topic.

Who has reared and/or educated these people? As the poster a few posts above wrote..... ANYBODY with even a modicum of knowledge about the topic at hand KNOWS that poster was writing tripe, drivel, pure blatant hog wash!!!!!

The poster's lack of knowledge about the subject did not stop them from communicating as if they DID possess knowledge.

Okay.... the original topic..... why do the powers-that-be allow the invasion?

Tough question. Open to debate since there are likely many causes and few can be proven.

I found this Web site tonight and though it is not directly related to the ongoing invasion I believe it conveys some opinions that help is figgerin' out why the "elites" allow the invasion.

If you scroll down you WILL see a cartoon that mentions the invasion.

I agree with much but not all of what is on the site linked to. Since the site places the ruling elites in a bad light rest assured you will never see anything like it mentioned in the mass media.

There IS a lot of content at the site but I believe it should be required reading for patriots, the minority of non-sheep citizens in this fast-fading country.
