WILLIAM: The Advance after the Fall of Spitzer!

    ALIPAC TEAM:

I need a good solid list of the states that we know are still giving licenses to illegals and for each state we need the name, Party affiliation, and full online, mail, and phone contact for each Governor.

We also need a link to the State Assemblies for each of these states.

We need to turn our national activists and core activists here on the boards lose on these states. It will be a very tough project and will require a lot of hard work from everyone, but...

If we move quickly, with the right message and battle plan, we can use our momentum from the victory over Spitzer to put some heavy pressure on lawmakers in these states.

Please help me compile the info here for an announcement.

In the last year, North Carolina and Tennessee stopped issuing licenses to illegal immigrants altogether. Meanwhile, New Mexico’s motor vehicle agency enlisted the Mexican government to help the state check the identity of would-be drivers. Maine is working to start limiting licenses to in-state residents, after decades of resisting.

Only seven states – Hawaii, Maine, Michigan, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah and Washington – allow undocumented immigrants to get driver’s licenses.

In October I got notice that Illinois was thinking of bringing back driving certificates for illegal aliens. No word about that since the Spitzer debacle! I'll look into it. Here is the alert. And I have all the contact information if needed later.

Tell your Illinois State Senator to vote NO for HOUSE BILL 1100! We do not know at this time when the legislature will convene again this year but it WILL!!

The bill which would grant driver’s certificates to ILLEGAL ALIENS can be brought up for a vote with NO further warning in the Illinois State Senate.

We have been told that the following Senators will vote AGAINST IT:

    Senator Pam Althoff

    Senator Kirk Dillard

    Senator Frank Watson

    Senator J. Bradley Burzynski

    Senator Dave Syverson

    Senator Linda Holmes

If any of these represent you, please call to say thank you!

ALL OTHER SENATORS NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU AND IF AT ALL POSSIBLE, PLEASE GO VISIT THEIR OFFICE(S).

When YOU vote, your job is not complete! You need to follow up with personal visits to the offices of your Senators and Representatives. This year they have all been serving a lot more than they expected. We can thank our governor for most of this. Call, set up an appointment and go visit. If you cannot get to see the elected official personally, go talk with his or her staff.

The state of Illinois has the dubious honor of having an Attorney General who refuses to do anything to stop the illegal use of State services. Her response has been the creation of the first-ever Illinois Identity Theft Hotline! Wow! Now some of her fellows in Springfield want to further assist the counterfeiters in our State with another document!

Driver’s certificates for ILLEGAL ALIENS will create a whole new source of revenue for people like Elias Munoz.

Maybe Lisa was planning on this new document when she provided a superb translation of the identity theft complaint form in another language!

When you call your Senator, ask her / him how they plan to vote on HB 1100. If they plan to vote for it, ask how they can morally support rewarding someone who has broken at least ONE of our laws. When they took office, an oath was taken to uphold the constitutions of Illinois and the U.S.A.

Below you will find contact info for all Illinois Senators. Some have additional offices and you can get the details for them by clicking on this link: http://www.ilga.gov/senate/

If you do not know who your State Senator is, you can click here:

    http://www.congress.org/congressorg/dir ... &submit=GO

Just key in your zip code after you connect to the link above, press enter and ‘zippo’ you will get a list of your federal and state legislators!

I'm pleased to report that Colorado is at least making an effort:

    1. What are Colorado's identification requirements for proof of Age, Identity and Lawful Presence?
To be issued a Colorado Driver’s License or Identification Card, you must prove the following elements: your full legal name, identity, age, and lawful presence in the United States. The Identification Requirements Chart shows the documents that you may use to prove each of these elements. In some cases, a single document may prove all four elements. However, it may be necessary for some applicants to provide multiple documents in order to prove all the required elements. All documents presented must be certified originals or certified amended originals or true copies certified by the issuing agency.

If you can not prove each of the required elements with the documents set forth in the chart, then you may request to go through “Exceptions Processingâ€

This is a joke, but it's not funny.

Exchanging an Out-of-Country License for a Maryland License, Please Bring:

Proof of age, identity, Maryland residence, Out-of-Country license(s), and the appropriate fee for each license for which you apply. Please refer to Sources of Proof for required documentation.

You must pass a vision test, knowledge test, and driving test.
You will be required to disclose your social security number. Applicants not eligible for a social security number will be required to provide a self-certification.
An Out-of-Country license may be valid or expired. The license cannot be suspended.
If licensed for less than 18 months, you will be issued a Maryland Provisional License.
If you have never been licensed in the U.S., you must complete a 3-Hour Drug & Alcohol Education Program.
A valid U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) physical card or federal/MVA waiver (if applying for a Commercial Driver’s License) is needed.
An Out-of-Country license may be required to be accompanied by an international driver's license or translated into English by an approved MVA translator.
If you are from Out-of-Country, and have never held a license, you must obtain a learner’s permit.
