ron paul has been a respected representative for and from texas for many years. he has consistently voted his conscience and never wavered from his beliefs and promises. if you consider that "politics as usual," then you haven't been seeing the "usual" rhetoric i've been seeing from all the other politicians. no candidate is going to have ALL the same beliefs i do, so i have to choose the one who comes closest. so far, ron paul is the one. for a texas politician to come out as strongly as paul has on the illegal immigration issue takes big old brass ones!! considering that over half of the citizens here are hispanic, many of whom are illegals and friends or relatives of illegals, that means he may not be a politician much longer when they get done voting next time.

Right now William, with Tom Tancredo out of the race, I do not have a favorite. If I had to choose from the list we have now, it would be Duncan Hunter, then Thompson, but that's about it.

Would I call for Dobbs over them all? Dang right I would. I think he likely has more ability than he allows himself to even believe. I would vote for him if he were to run.

Would he? I can only dream he would, then pick Tom Tancredo as his Vice Prez!!!!!!

God I love the Guy and his Points of views with crime and criminal immigration on the show. But honestly maybe I do have one or to reservations about him running for President of the United States.
First of all I know nothing about his bio, his past, what did he do before he was on cnn ? I’m thinking a news anchor and getting America fired up on the issues, well frankly he does a great job! How much of that stuff is wrote for him. Has he ever held a government or public office? Does he want to be president? What’s the history on any news anchor men running for office? I know actors have... I know criminal immigration is the issue he does a ship shape job on. There are many issue I have no ideal where he stands, (abortion, education, social security and welfare, the actions in Iraq ) Does he have a degree in any thing ? Can he find enough politicians to agree with him to fill the cabinet?
Id love to be able to say I back the Guy for a independent run at the Big house on the hill but right now today I Don’t know enough about the man. I can come up with some more questions but this enough to start. I found in the past that honesty and first impressions are everything. Lou has made a good first impression on me. But There a lot to be questioned. No canidate should ever just make a run for the White House with out being question on some issue... If even just one... Yes if Ican find some things out first hed have my vote

i've never watched lou dobbs' show, so i don't know enough about him to say yes or no. i went on the internet to see what he has to say, but i found very little. in fact, most of the little i found was saying he's against the anchor babies issue. unless i'm stupid and read them all incorrectly.
Too bad you can't view his show betty.

This issue comes up from time to time and what Lou has said as the law stands now these babies born here are citizens and he is for following the law. He hasn't said he agrees with it.

i live in texas, so i know all too well about those anchor babies!! either leave and take your offspring with you or go and leave them here. i prefer to make it a non-issue by totally stopping the practice. ron paul is still running and is totally in line with alipac on immigration issues. i can watch his show, i just never have. must come on opposite something else i watch. will make an effort to tape it if ii conflicts with another program.

it's an awful thing to have to say, but i barely recognize the name tom tancredo. another example of how the media treats those of whom they don't approve like red-headed stepchildren. the media no longer just reports the news, they make it which allows them to influence political policy way too much.

Pres. Dobbs? Well, We Know Where He Stands on Immigration...

After the The Wall Street Journal's Greg Hitt speculated about the presidential future of CNN anchor Lou Dobbs in this morning's paper, Dobbs appeared on The Situation Room to discuss the possibility. Wolf Blitzer pressed Dobbs, and the anchor would not rule out a run. He said, "Every time I've said never in my life I found that perhaps I overstated it a bit."

Dobbs did not rule out the possibility in the Journal article either, but he did say, "I haven't got the personality or nature to be a politician."

Dobbs originally started speculation about his political future when he posted a column on CNN.com that brought up the idea of a surprise candidate who was poised to enter the race in November. The journalist Robert Novak picked up on it fueling the speculation.

If Dobbs does decide to run, we know he's up for a fight. Recently he's taken on:

    Hillary Clinton

    The Los Angeles Times

    His own boss

Google "Draft Lou Dobbs" most of the sights you find will have a bio.
There is also a bio on cnn.com. He's won many awards for his work and won "father of the year."

Or try wikipedia. He was born in Texas in 1945 and earned a bachelors degree in economics from Harvard University, graduating in 1967. After graduating, Dobbs worked for federal anti-poverty programs in Boston and Washington, D.C. and as a cash-management specialist for Union Bank in Los Angeles. He married his high school sweetheart in 1969 and in 1970 his first son was born........

i'm watching the show right now. i looked him up, but i don't see much besides immigration issues. not really impressed with the father of the year award. i know a lot of great dads who will never get the chance to win an award because they aren't rich and famous.
