No, busseysmom. That was a federal court that ruled against some facets of SB 1070, not the US Supreme Court. Those rulings are now being appealed to the Federal Court of Appeals and depending on those rulings may then be appealed to the US Supreme Court.

    Arizona immigration law upheld

Court rules state can punish firms for hiring illegal workers

    By Elizabeth Aguilera

    9:56 p.m., May 26, 2011

The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday upheld an Arizona law that sanctions businesses for hiring illegal workers and endorsed the state’s requirement that companies use the federal E-Verify employment screening program.

Supporters of tougher immigration enforcement lauded the decision, while immigration advocates braced for the succession of similar legislation being contested in other courts or proposed in states coast to coast. The ruling comes as states are introducing more immigration bills after complaining about what they see as apathy at the federal level.

“The Supreme Court has not only pointed out that Congress and the president have the ability to address the problem, but now they have announced to the world that if Washington doesn’t address it, the states can address it,â€

Given that Congress spe-cifically preserved such authority for the States, it stands to reason that Congress did not intend to prevent the States from using appro-priate tools to exercise that authority.
It's good to see the Supreme Court observing the "intent of Congress". Perhaps we can soon get a case before the Supremes involving the fixing of the 14th Amendment. It was never the "intent of Congress" to have 2 non-citizen parents to be able to produce an instant US citizen.

Unless the USSC quickly plugs the ANCHOR BABY TSUNAMI, this and other similar rulings won't stop illegal immigration.

All an illegal immigrant has to do is pop out a few anchor babies and then use THE ANCHOR BABY SSAN to generate multiple identities they can use for another fifty years.

And legislation not supporting reversing the anchor baby dilemma is like the little boy putting his finger in the dike and hoping the dam won't break.

Arizonans paying dearly now for their bigoted, racist views!.... California to benefit big time!
Subject: Arizona Is Taking A Beating From Supreme Court ruling Phoenix, AZ (AP) - E-Verify is having an affect.

Illegal immigrants are boycotting Arizona by the thousands, showing their outrage with Arizona 's controversial E-Verify law by moving elsewhere.

In the small town of Guadalupe AZ , south of Phoenix , Manuel Renaldo is one of those who is punishing Arizona by leaving. As he loaded his stolen pickup with his belongings and family of ten, Renaldo told this reporter through an interpreter "It's a matter of principle. I refuse to be supported by a state that treats me like a criminal."

The effects of the exodus are being felt by Arizona retailers who are reporting dwindling sales of beer, spray paint, and ammunition. Also hit hard are the state's hospitals, which have reported a dramatic decline in births and emergency room visits. Tattoo parlors are in a state of panic.

Renaldo told a reporter through an interpreter "He and his family are moving to California , which is a state that will support him and his family with dignity."
We call things racism just to get attention. We reduce complicated problems to racism, not because it is racism, but because it works
