Each time I read about "another" atrocious action by authorities against those seeking to have our laws enforced, I find it more & more incredible.

The Shaw family are black. Now, the truth is that matters not one wit. BUT, the other truth is, this family represents average Americans seeking to have their elected officials to do their jobs and enforce our laws. Being black, the presence of the Shaw's undermines any and all of the accusations that we seeking enforcement are racists. All we are, are average Americans, just like the Shaw's. (Well, not just like them. They are one of the many who have lost a loved one to the criminal illegal alien element our officials fail to remove from our nation).

While I dislike these facts, they are facts we cannot escape. Blacks in America typically have lower levels of attained education. Blacks in America typically seek lower paying jobs due to a lack of education or skills development. When illegal aliens take jobs (Note I said "TAKE"), blacks are the first to suffer since the jobs illegal aliens go after are the lower paying unskilled labor jobs. Its not about race, its about the law and being fair to ALL Americans. Yet our government keeps spewing out the "they do jobs Americans won't do" nonsense. Americans will work, "if" they are paid decent wages, some benefits, and are able to work in reasonable conditions.

One of my Senators has still not responded to my request he view the TV program "Dirty Jobs." Mike Rowe, the host, travels the nations working for a day at many of the dirty jobs Americans do. If people are willing to do many of those jobs, the jobs illegal aliens are taking represent a breeze in comparison. Employers say if they must pay the wages Americans want, people will not want to pay the prices for the services any longer. That is not true. And if people knew the prices were inflated to accommodate wages for citizens versus lower wages for illegal aliens, I think many would just pay up. We may not be happy about the price, but we would be happy Americans were working rather than criminals. If we want to fix anything other than our immigration laws, lets make sure ALL Americans can gain the best education possible. That way, no race or people will get left behind. And we will be able to pass on help to those socialist nations whose systems have failed their peoples.

The Shaw's have had to deal with loss. Their son did not have to die. Illegal aliens here killed him. Had the illegal aliens been deported as they should have been, long before this incident, the Shaw boy would still be alive today. Unfortunately, as most here know, this story has played out across America in many situations.

How can the media ignore this story? How can the media justify ignoring this story. This is a case of "the system" attacking or targeting a black family exercising their rights. The concept that the media nationally, even internationally, have ignored this, is beyond comprehension. It is also totally unacceptable.

It seems to me, if one wants to accuse someone of racism, they would have to point to the system in California or at least LA, and the political system that permits this to happen. Those of us accused of racism simply because we protest the failure of our government to enforce our laws, are NOT the racists. We are law abiding citizens. Those ignoring the Shaw's appear to be the racists for failing to properly tell their disheartening story, and those who failed to deport criminals immediately.

Doesn't it amaze many here that the news is not mentioning this? I mean this is a black family in trouble. This is the real news, yet the media fail to report it or to report it as the huge story it is. How can this be??

I haven't even heard Glenn Beck of Lou Dobbs mention this. I doubt they are in the pockets of those promoting open borders, but, their network is. As for the rest of the networks, well I suppose I should not have expected anything from them.

Doug McIntyre @ KABC in LA is a good ally in the cause. If some of you in the SoCal area want to run this by him and see what 'kicks up', maybe it's worth the time??? (He also appears fairly regularly on Dobbs program during the interview segment near the end of the show).

Seems to me that the LAPD chose to raid a "protest" and ask everyone for ID and ss numbers. If they did that to this group, WHY in hell can't they do it to IA supporters at their protests?!?!?!?!

They opened up a HUGE can of whoop-a$$ on this one. The Shaws should certainly have a case against them, especially since the LAPD, LA Council, LA mechista mayor are known to prohibit the LAPD for walking up to people and asking for ID! That prohibition applies only to hispanic looking people? This group was committing no crimes, nor breaking any laws. They were asked for ID because they are fighting against Villagrossa's beloved illegal aliens. This is racial intimidation run amok.

Where's the NAACP? Where's the ACLU?

I move that everyone involved in or attending any group gathering should have to show ID to police, for any reason.

It could be a violation of their constitutional rights and L.A. could have a federal lawsuit brought against them, like the police officers in the Rodney King deal. King was a bad guy. People saw it after they messed with the police officers. Of course they only showed a portion of the tape AND they didn't say he was driving 100 mph or that his passenger cooperated and nothing happened to him.

Just as an afterthought..... why did they want Social Security numbers? Was this an attempt to disparage these people by saying if you ask Illegal aliens for this info, we can reverse that and ask you for the same info?
I mean, SS numbers at a petition signature gathering! Perhaps at a work-site where one is attempting to gain employment, BUT, at a petition signature gathering table?
I think that alone shows this was a vindictive attack.
But still, these folks have lost a son due to a policy that were it not for that policy he would be alive. Worse for the city is that these folks are black. they are not racists looking to capitalize on an issue over a minority. They are not a hate group seeking to cause trouble for an ethnic group.
Many politicians hate the petition process. They are trying to put three people in jail in Oklahoma for being out of state signature gatherers. It will never hold up, but it shows the system hates to be challenged by anyone.
Any way one looks at this, I hope the city has to face off against these people in a court of law, and the taxpayers of the city must pay out for violating their civil & constitutional rights.
I hope the contact with a media type works out & Dobbs or Beck pick up on this. My emails go unanswered, so it looks like a personal contact may be the best & only hope the rest of America learns the particulars on this!

The health department was right, they can not distribute food to the public without a permit. Even if it is packaged. Food banks have to have permits. Really, that's the only thing I see that was even questionable.

There is just no end to the illegal aliens sanctuary and the council that protects it.

Isn't there a way to take over/shut down a city council on ethics and civil rights violations?
