I don't have the honor of visiting this website much...you know, life priorities, like avoiding hateful commentary I've heard a million times. There is an interesting contradiction of thought you display here. You say you avoid hateful commentary, but then say you learn a lot by listening to other perspectives. You speak of the value of diversity, but you immediately characterize this website with blanket condemnations of hatefulness.as someone who attended UNC, I can say I learned a lot from hearing other perspectives.
Which is it? You cannot love diversity and "hate" hate at the same time. It's incongruous. If you truly believed in diversity, you could never want to avoid commentary, hateful or benign. Nor could you judge said commentary, because judgment is the opposite of acceptance. Rather, you would both accept and celebrate the vibrant experience of our disagreement, since diversity is your strength and makes you a fuller, richer person.
But tolerance you don't appear to display in your statements. Your apparent lack of tolerance for diversity - that is, diversity of thought - makes your statement below extremely ironic.
Couldn't have said it better myself, Rach. Very good point NoBueno
Thank you all for your points of view. I learn more every day myself. That "love" for which you speak of is so very apparent! Especially when an illegal invader parent gets deported and refuses to take their minor child with them!"When you have knowledge, you have a responsibility to do better"_ Paula Johnson

Well said everyone.
rach, were he/she really interested in helping fellow man there are plenty of ways, like doing missionary work in foreign countries. To say these lawbreakers, the illegal aliens here deserve any more consideration than being taken care of until they are deported, is pretty shallow.
There is no reason on earth that any of the poor and weak and uneducated come here without permission and expect any sort of compassion as we are a nation of laws we respect.
The non-English speakers, mostly from Latin America and the majority from Mexico, want what this country is, while not respecting anything we stand for. Had they respected us in the first place they would have come here legally with visas and not overstaying them because life is better than in the old country.
College life is like living in a bubble where one is impervious from the real world, where jobs are being outsourced, companies laying off and the continual influx of even legal workers that threatens our ever-shrinking supply of work for legal American citizens. In the blue collar job world, the problem is even worse. Even menial jobs are mostly filled by illegals.
And there is no reason to muddle the distinction between illegal and legal to make any point for consideration for these people here illegally. They have broken the law coming here, buy stolen identities, work when they are not allowed to, send remittances home rather than paying income taxes as they are paid under the table, have children which qualifies them for public assistance, get free medical care, and charity.
I doubt we will see rach back on this website.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Awwww! Rach was proved wrong, therefore we shall probably never see he/she again. Such a shame too! Yet another leftie that proves how ignorant they are!! Unless, Rach, can you prove otherwise? Please? Anything else from your point of view? I thought not! After all, law is law, right?
Why do I always seem to miss the troll posts? I feel as if I have hit a home run in overtime innings!
I personally hate it when a troll stops responding. Since 1997 I have been known as the "Notorious Thread Ender" because my threads tend to be the end of all threads, especially when proof is involved. C'mon Rach, show me how wrong I am, please? We see so many tribes overrun and undermined

Is it possible Rach is the Rachel mentioned in the article? In any case, not all UNC students are pro illegal immigration; my daughter, a student at UNC, is a kind, thoughtful person who would give any illegal the shirt off her back, yet she does not in any way support giving them amnesty or allowing them to live here in violation of our laws.

rach-
- do not ever, ever attempt to give away what is OURS because of your hormonal disorders. WE will decide--not you alone. WE will let OUR representatives know where WE stand on the issue.
What have you ever done that grants you the supreme right to grant the world's greatest gift--- American citizenship-- to anyone??
I am convinced there will be violence and blood spilled because of people like you who believe that you are good and kind and thus, authorized to give away what is OURS, not YOURS alone.
