Mayor Bill de Blasio announces the acceptance of an ID card that will help illegals.

Tom Fitton, president of the government watchdog nonprofit “Judicial Watch” came out swinging Wednesday about New York City’s municipal identification card, telling a national audience on Fox News the benefit is little more than government-sanctioned criminal activity.

“[This is] designed to help illegal aliens evade the law,” Fitton said, during the “Fox & Friends” segment about the IDNYC.

His Democratic strategist counterpart disagreed, saying the ID card that took effect months ago is really intended for all New Yorkers – that it opens the doors for residents to gain easy access to the city’s museums, for instance.

And that’s true: The official city ID card does give discounts to holders to visit zoos and museums, and to lower their grocery bills, the New York Times reported. It also grants access to public libraries.

But as Fitton pointed out, the identification card basically grants the ability for undocumented immigrants over the age of 14 to gain access to city services and financial facilities they otherwise would be shut out of, due to their illegal presence in the country. Armed with the card, illegals can rent an apartment, provide an ID to police and open a banking account, so long as they can prove residency in one of the city’s five boroughs.

“It doesn’t make any sense,” he said. “We’re talking about criminal aliens … and here we have the city of New York aiding and abetting criminal activity.”

Fitton also suggested pro-amnesty individuals loved the card because it “makes it easier for [illegals] to vote and to register to vote.” At the same time, he also warned: Someone affiliated with ISIS could simply cross into America via the porous border with Mexico and obtain the New York City card.

Mayor Bill de Blasio said of the card, when it launched in January: “This ID addresses substantially the notion that we all matter and everyone has an identity,” the Observer reported.

City Council members, meanwhile, touted the card as a terrific way for upholding New York’s diversity and multiracial atmosphere.

    NO AMNESTY

Don't reward the criminal actions of millions of illegal aliens by giving them citizenship.

New Yorkers and Californians, hard to tell the difference if it wasn't for New Yorkers lacking a sun tan in the winter.
