Thread: Some fear checkpoints may target illegal immigrants

I just love how they say CAN lead to deprotation! Don't you!

Is this news??? There have been checkpoints by the police for years. To read this you would think this is new news.

LOL.....been going on for a good 20+ years or so.....DUI check points, seat belt check points, safety check points......if you're illegal and driving there aren't many you can skirt through because no matter what your excuse.....you aren't supposed to be driving.

Checkpoints are supposed to target illegal immigrants, because checkpoints are supposed to target illegal activity. Right?!

At least I sure thought that was what they were for, otherwise why bother?

I wish everyone would put the state and city at the top of the articles they post. It would give readers a quick reference as to where this is happening and propel people who live near the area to possibly get more involved with illegal immigration issues.

I realize the location can be found by clicking the link, but can we PLEASE post the state and city at the top of the article?

Even before the Invadsion . We've had check points stops for decades in our country . Check your Ins , License and look in your eyes . If your screwed up your fair game and should be hunted

State law prohibits illegal immigrants from getting drivers licenses, so the threat of widespread checkpoints is a cause for concern. In several counties, including Wake and Alamance, jailers can now check the immigration status of inmates, and traffic charges can lead to deportation.

Difference now is it is harder for illegals to get and renew drivers licenses in North Carolina. In places like Alamance that have 287(g), the checkpoints can mean a illegals get a visit to jail and deportation for not having a license.
