I proudly served my country both Active Duty and Reserves.

I worked 14 days in a row EVERY MONTH with no day off for 8 years to work full time and serve...now THAT was a hassle.

I will proudly buy my own Voter ID Card with Photo...fingerprint too if that what it takes to secure our votes

$12 bucks or whatever nominal fee it is...is not going to be the end of the World and these ID's are valid for 8-10 years.

We are the luckiest people on Earth to live here and to complain about buying a Voter ID card and what a hassle it is to get one is really sad and a disgrace to me.

I think of all who served, lost their lives, the time and commitment, the sacrifice, to fight for and protect this country who made us what we are today is such a selfish thing to say that it is a hassle to get an ID. Not to mention the service members families and the hassles they endure every day.

I think of the "hassle" our service members go through every day and then compare that to a "hassle" of getting an ID is such a drag is unbelievable. To be in defiance of having to pay for an ID card and we owe them free is quite disheartening.

I do support a free ID for Voting to give in to the selfish crybabies...but I will gladly pay for mine.

What a shame what this country has come to.

Life is a hassle...but one hassle worth going through is to go get an ID and vote.

Speaking of "false narratives",

As of May 2017, a dozen states (California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, Vermont, and Washington), the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico have laws in their books laws that allow Illegal immigrants to obtain a driver's license or some type of driving permit.[1][2] Meanwhile, other states such as New York are debating whether to grant its Ilegal residents access to state issued driver’s licenses[3] or have enacted and repealed such laws as in the case of Oregon.[4][5]

So far, only 12 states issue drivers licenses to illegal aliens. There may be more some day, there may also be less. But today there are 12 states who do. They claim as in the case of California that they do not automatically register illegal aliens to vote because their license is tagged or marked in some way to prevent that. That may be true, it may not be, we don't know. The officials of California claim it's not possible to register illegal aliens to vote in their state.

Only 7 states have a strict voter photo ID law, 3 more have a non-strict voter photo ID law. So about 10 states have these laws in some form. None of them are states that issue drivers licenses to illegal aliens.

I don't think Illegal immigration is the reason these states wanted or passed voter photo ID laws. The voter photo ID law is an objective led by Republicans in Republican or Republican-leaning states that do not issue drivers licenses to illegal aliens. So who is it that they're trying to prevent from voting using the voter photo ID law? Elderly, disabled, poor and blacks. Why would Republicans be leading such an effort that so contrary to what is fair or right? What are they afraid of that they're to stop? They claim in lawsuits, it's "voter fraud". What is voter fraud?

The voter fraud issue gained national attention several years ago through Breitbart's expose of an organization called ACORN that among other things, conducted voter registration drives. The bad publicity and exposure of their practices and objectives resulted in the removal of federal funding, their largest source of income, and bankrupted the organization. ACORN was a 501 C 3 "charity" fraud.

There were once 30 chapters of ACORN across the country. Since their bankruptcy and dissolution, 3 new ones formed in 3 states, California, New York and Wisconsin, but only work on housing-related issues for the poor.

While their fraudulent activities in the voter registration drives were bad, they were only slightly worse than all other voter registration drives, 7% (ACORN) versus 5% (Other).

So when you look at this issue fully, it doesn't make any sense for Republicans to lead voter photo ID laws, because they hurt the very voters of their state that they want to turn out and vote, elderly, disabled, poor and blacks. Most black Americans are not going to support a party that they perceive is trying to take their vote away from them by creating paperwork, duties, assignments and costs and will vote the party that doesn't do that to them. Poor Americans will have a hard time voting for a party that requires them to spend anything for any reason to vote. Disabled Americans will go "Oh geez, you've got to be kidding me, another trip, 2 trips, 3 trips, paperwork, forms to get an ID to vote when I'm registered to vote, fought in two wars, and disabled from serving my country? Really? No, that won't happen." Elderly, "What? Another step I have to take to vote? What if my drivers license expires while I'm in the hospital or in rehab for months and the election takes place, I lose my right to vote? Forget that. I'll vote for Trump, but that governor of my state can go straight to hell." And that's where the Republican Party stands today with these groups because of an attempt to create a hurdle, built an obstacle, mandate a requirement that offends their own voters and totally misrepresents what the real Republican Party has been about since its inception 1854.

State Republican officials would fare far better spending their time, energy, legislative periods, and legal time on important issues solving real problems like illegal immigration instead of creating them for citizens who want to vote on election. Texas, and I love Texas, but honestly, you spent 7 years in ugly legal battles fighting for voter photo ID and ended up after all that time and controversy, with a law that allows you to vote on election day with a Texas concealed handgun license or a copy of your utility bill, giving whole new meaning to:

It is vital to the welfare of our country that Republicans win the midterms in November and pick-up 10 more Senate seats. Some of those races will be in blue districts, purple districts as well as red districts. Voter photo ID has nothing to do with illegal immigration. Drivers licenses for illegal aliens does. To fix the real problems, we must convince voters through the primaries and the general election that Republicans are the real party of civil and equal rights, that we care as much if not more about all of our citizens than DemoQuacks, and do so well enough and true enough that they believe us because we delivered a lot thanks to President Trump in a very short period of time. My advice to Republicans in state legislatures, instead of passing legislation that creates obstacles or requirements for citizens to vote, why don't you pass meaningful anti-illegal immigration legislation? It will get you a lot further down the road to fixing our problems and probably winning your next election.

It is not only too much trouble, it's even hazardous for my Mom to venture out for most any reason and most certainly to obtain something as ridiculous as a voter photo ID. So, she votes absentee, because it's her right under the laws of her state. What is "false" about that? The question I answered was "who doesn't have a photo ID"? My Mom and I gave Beezer an example and the reason for it. Why would you or anyone else attack someone because they reject your voter photo ID nonsense? That is her right.
