US' FIRST FOUR YEAR ACCREDITED "ISLAMIC COLLEGE"

PLAINSBORO, N.J. — A group of American Muslims, led by two prominent scholars, is moving closer to fulfilling a vision of founding the first four-year accredited Islamic college in the United States, what some are calling a "Muslim Georgetown."

Advisers to the project have scheduled a June vote to decide whether the proposed Zaytuna College can open in the fall of next year, a major step toward developing the faith in America.

Imam Zaid Shakir and Sheik Hamza Yusuf of California have spent years planning the school, which will offer a liberal arts education and training in Islamic scholarship. Shakir, a California native, sees the school in the tradition of other religious groups that formed universities to educate leaders and carve a space in the mainstream of American life.

I have enough problem figuring out US law (especially the IRS code) and now I have to start worrying about violating Sharia law? What's next, I have to wear a head scarf so I won't offend some Muslim I run into and get stoned to death?

It is high time there was an Islamic college in the United States. This guy Hamza Yusuf I do not know about hence no endorsement from me for him.

I am concerned that we are becoming a nation of separatists at a time when we need to be united. And I am also very concerned about an Islamic college that uses the same tired racists comments about Americans that don't want to be Muslims. Europe is being swallowed up by Islam and I don't want America to follow suit. I enjoy freedom.

I have studied and have respect for the Muslim faith however, I am Christian and don't want to be forced into Sharia law. And I think that the goal of the University is conversion, it is, afterall, the fastest growing religion in the world.

I 100% agree. I have never felt so disconnected and a stranger in my own town and country, and in a country where we allowed these people to come in and too many have no concern for it at all.....only to destroy it. Wonder who'll win in the war between the Muslims and the Latinos? Both are intent on destroying this country, planning to claim it as their victory.

No, we don't need an Islamic college in the United States. Sure - not all Muslims are terrorists, but most terrorists ARE Muslim, and let's face it - HOW MANY Muslims do you see DEFENDING the American way of life?

Fundamental Islamists make no bones about it. They HATE us. They want to KILL us. To them, we are not fit to breathe air unless we convert to their religion and become good little infidel murderers and jihadists, all while living under radical sharia law. NO THANKS.

As Americans, we need only to look across the Atlantic - France, Germany, Sweden, Norway, and even Denmark have become "Islam-icised". God forbid a NATIVE of these countries do or say something to offend one of their Muslim transplants! Speak out and be killed. Literally. And don't expect your killer to be punished too harshly. It might offend the Muslim community.

They tell us they will infiltrate us, and what do WE let happen? Keith Ellison sits in our US House of Reps. More and more we will 'PC' ourselves right out of freedom and into sharia style law. What WE MUST insist upon from ANY immigrant is integration into OUR way of life. OUR laws. OUR culture. If any of YOUR beliefs, religious or otherwise, do not jee-haw with ours, do not expect US to change our ways for you. This is America. Love it or leave it. Period.

Does anyone know where this proposed Zaytuna College is to be located and from whom their funding will come?

You would think there would be some thankfullness for some of our freedoms. Like not having stoning an option, maybe. Or the freedom to be able to leave a barbaric and brutal husband and not have death as your only out.
