Thread: Barack Obama's citizenship questioned

I try to keep tabs on the news, and if you're all seeing what I'm seeing, after his return empty-handed from his massive overseas trip, Obama is basically a lame duck from this point forward. This is both a danger and an opportunity. India, of course, interpreted his flattering words towards them as a carte blanche promise of unlimited outsourcing and visas. And then there's the rumors about that weird thing that looked like a missle. My concern is that lame ducks tend to do things in a "what the heck" sort of way. We have entered a new chapter of America. God bless us all.

All the powers that be in the Republican Party have joined in the conspiracy of silence that allows this good man, this decorated officer, this truly courageous patriot, to be persecuted. Many of them and their cohorts in the Republican-leaning media have joined in the insidious effort to demean and silence anyone who articulates the reasonable arguments that prove the rightness of his cause. They have thus tacitly espoused and abetted the poisonous elite intention to establish by this powerful precedent the liberty-killing notion that the winners of any given election thereby gain a license to treat the Constitution's requirements as optional.

Lt. Col. Lakin's unjust plight symbolizes the fate that awaits all Americans once the authority and principles of constitutional government are abandoned. Until and unless the leaders of the Republican Party act to end this assault on constitutional authority, their willingness quietly to cooperate in Obama's destruction of the practical foundation of our liberty exposes their professed opposition to socialist tyranny as a politically expedient sham. Nothing reveals the heart of injustice so clearly as the willingness to let good people be destroyed on account of it.

John Kennedy understood this when he placed his famous call to the imprisoned Martin Luther King. As they followed Hitler to crushing defeat, the German people came to understand it, too, but much too late. While Lt. Col. Lakin is left prey to the Obama faction's determined defiance of constitutional authority, why should America trust the silent, complicit, cowardly Republicans willing to leave him, and all our liberty, to the destruction Obama and his comrades (whatever their party label) intend for them? Can those willing to let Lakin's stand for liberty curse his life with destruction be trusted to preserve the blessings of liberty for generations to come? And what about the rest of us – can we?

I have always liked Alan Keyes. He's a good man.

I fully agree, he should have had the honor of being our first black president....maybe he will get the honor of being our first QUALIFIED AND CONSTITUTIONALLY LEGAL black president.

Ambassador Dr. Keyes was the first person to point out that Mr. Obama was not a natural born citizen, and therefore not eligible for the Office of President. After a 2004 Senatorial debate in Chicago, on camera on C-SPAN, Dr. Keyes said to Mr. Obama, "You're not even a natural born citizen." To which Mr. Obama replied, "I'm not running for President; I'm just running for the Senate."

But that C-SPAN tape is apparently lost to posterity.

I remember seeing the video you describe and that is indeed what was said. Obama did not deny his foreign born status.

I don't know how much of the millions of dollars spent to deflect eligibility lawsuits came out of his own pocket or the expense accounts of [i]pro bono[/i] attorneys (Perkins Coie?). But a larger amount came out of the taxpayers' pockets to pay the U.S. Attorneys and military attorneys.[/size]

Thanks for the booster shot. I think I am in a place where I know too much and sometimes feel impotent about causing real change. This is offset by my acknowledgment and understanding that only a few of us were aware in the beginning and now many of our fellow Americans are aware and are involved, and change is coming. And that's a good thing.

So, now we have more conservative states and a more conservative congress, and we can see some real change in the near future. Again, that's good.

But, you know, I have never felt so under attack as I have felt this last two years - from all sides. Here's another problem that makes me want to start another family. Or two.

You are in the same boat as those of us in professions that were devastated by global labor arbitrage, only relief is coming faster. In the beginning for us, about 10 years ago, you couldn't complain about bringing in hundreds of thousands of foreign guestworkers to work in white collar American jobs while at the same time laying off that many American white collar workers, without (at best) blank looks from your fellow citizens. Most people had no idea what was happening. At worst, you would be accused of being a racist: "What do you mean you don't want a person from India to be able to come here and work for a better life?" Meanwhile, across America, Americans were being tapped on the shoulder and introduced to their foreign replacements and ordered to train them. And once they were trained, entire departments full of work were sent offshore. Fast forward: now everyone knows or seems to know.

Keep yelling and keep pushing. He dropped the ball on jobs, that's all you need to get people's attention at this point. If everybody were optimistic and happy, they'd go on looking the other way.

I live in a mixed neighborhood, and fireworks were heard the night he got elected. But, after health care passed, and the word came out that he would go on to work on - not jobs - but energy, you could feel the air leaking out of the balloons for everyone. In my town we are going to have 5 supermarket closings just in time to leave people high and dry for Christmas.

As for population, there was a baby boom among whites during the 'aughts' - because we felt prosperous. I wonder if the census will pick that up, as there were certainly articles about it. I even saw it in Parade magazine.

This just got posted on another group I'm on, my apologies if you've already seen it.

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old rancher, whose hand was caught in the gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man...Eventually the topic got around to Obama and his role as our president.

The old rancher said, "Well, ya know, Obama is a Post Turtle''..

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him, "What is a 'post turtle'?

The old rancher said, 'When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'.

The old rancher saw the puzzled look on the doctor's face so he continued to explain.

"You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he's up there, he's elevated beyond his ability to function, and you just wonder what kind of dumb ass put him up there to begin with."
