Ron Paul--latest in a long tradition of free Americans

Video: 48 years ago, at UC Berkeley, Mario Savio said it:

"There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part; you can't even passively take part, and you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop. And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all!"

Tonight, Ron Paul again will denounce immoral, unconstitutional wars. In 1969 then President Nixon began claiming that those protesting against the Vietnam War were greatly outnumbered by a Silent Majority. In the same month Nixon began babbling about a Silent Majority John Fogerty and Creedence spent 2 minutes on this song to put the president in his place.

    Santorum out. My analysis.

Submitted by paceme on Tue, 04/10/2012 - 15:54
    Ron Paul 2012

This is my first post, it may be long.

Santorum's out... so let's dive in, shall we?

Given: We are besting Gingrich in the national polls as of 4/9/12.

Given: We have delegates from many more states than Gingrich.

Given: We have more delegates in total than Gingrich.

Given: Romney still has less than half the delegates he needs.

Given: Romney is polling 1st or 2nd in every contest going forward.

Given: We are being elected as national delegates in large numbers.

Premise: Most Santorum supporters are Establishmentarians and socially conservative.

Premise: As evidenced by the jumps from the Gingrich surges and the Santorum surges (sorry, bad mental image) their bases have been largely complementary, in other words, they are sharing the same base.

Variable: Santorum could endorse Gingrich, Romney or nobody (not Paul, surely).

Analysis: Santorum endorsing Romney is most likely, given that they are both Establishmentarians, and Gingrich is lowest in national polls. If this happens, the media will say it's further confirmation that the war's over. If he were to endorse Gingrich, the public and media would ignore it, and say that the war is over. If he were to endorse nobody, then they will say that the war is over, too. In the last two cases, however, there may be a tiny bit more media attention given to the Gingrich and Paul campaigns.

Variable: Santorum supporters will either follow the endorsement (assuming Romney), go for the social conservative (Gingrich), or go to the one with the greatest chance against Romney and Obama (Paul).

Analysis: Most will follow the endorsement, and either vote for Romney going forward or not vote at all. Those that move to Gingrich camp may be few and lazy or many, but still too lazy to get active in a new campaign (this has already been one of the longest GOP primary of the last 35 years). A few, maaaybe, will educate themselves a bit further and go for the principled libertarian, Dr. Paul.

    Variable: Delegate count going forward

Analysis: Romney will win most or all of the beauty contests going forward, meaning that he will very likely secure the bound delegates going into the convention.

Conclusion: All the public and outward signs that the MSM care about point to Romney as the undisputed nominee starting today. The next 24-48 hours will spell the difference. Will Gingrich drop out, too? Whether or not he does, will Paul get any more attention than before?

The Great Upset: Two important possibilities exist that at least maintain, and possibly bolster, Ron Paul's chances of becoming the nominee.

    1. If people assume that Romney is the nominee, they may skip voting for him in the primaries, giving Gingrich and Paul double the share they've seen thus far. Since it's hard to mobilize voters to vote strategically, though, Romney will likely win all the remaining primaries. Nevertheless, Paul may win a few and Gingrich may win a few if enough Romney supporters don't vote. In any case, the straw polls don't mean a thing because...

    2. Even if Romney has 1700+ delegates, he may not get voted the nominee on the first ballot. All that needs to happen is for 1/3 of the delegates bound to him to abstain on the first ballot, which could happen if only 1/3 of them are Paul supporters, and they organize to do so. This way, all rules are followed, and Romney is not crowned nominee. Though it's possible that Gingrich doesn't reach 5 states and Rule 40(b) will kill his contention, I imagine that enough of the states with Santorum delegations will go to Gingrich in order to keep him on the ballot (that is, if he doesn't drop out). Whether or not he drops out, Paul will be on the ballot and, assuming we deny Romney the nomination on the first ballot, the same Paul ground game that will deny Romney will also work with Santorum and Gingrich and even some Romney delegates to face the reality that only Paul will balance the budget, restore the freedom our Fathers fought for, bring our troops home and end the threat of future violence in the Middle East and Asia.

REAL CONCLUSION: Paul won't drop out. Gingrich might. His support is small and shallow. Romney's support is wide and shallow. Paul's is moderate and very deep. Obama's is wide and somewhat deep. Romney's can't get deeper, but Paul's CAN get wider. Paul's outsized influence will be felt as we approach the convention, and it's up to us to be made delegates in ALL states and territories that we can in order to pull a contested convention which results in Paul winning the nomination and eventually a landslide presidency. It's all us now. Paul v. Romney, Paul v. Obama. Let's pull a "Jesus and the money changers" in Tampa, and then Washington. Let's get these special interests OUT!

I will fight tooth and nail to get liberty elected in my home state and nationally. The r3VOLution may take another 4 or 8 years or more. It took 40 years to fight off the British until they stopped denying our sovereignty. Our fight won't last that long, I'm sure. We have the upper hand.

Sorry this was sort of rambling, disjointed, run-on and all speculation. I'm sure I left out some great points. I invite you to make them.

Ron Paul Campaign Releases Texas-themed TV and Web Ad

‘Vote Texas’ affirms Paul’s distinction as sole Texan seeking nomination and scoffs at notion that Texas voters will view his rivals as conservative

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign announced today the release of a new ad that positions the 12-term Texas Congressman as the only authentic conservative seeking the Republican nomination, and the presidential aspirant most appealing to Republican voters in the Lone Star State.

To help kick off Ron Paul’s three-day campaign swing in Texas, the 30-second ad ‘Vote Texas’ will begin airing today on cable television. In addition, the campaign is promoting the ad on websites where conservative activists, opinion leaders, and voters congregate.

The energetic, lighthearted ‘Vote Texas’ contrasts Ron Paul with his Republican rivals Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, and Mitt Romney, characterizing them as a “big spending, debt ceiling raising, fiscal liberal,” a “moon colony guy,” and “a moderate from Massachusetts,” respectively. It follows by affirming Ron Paul’s status as the only Texan and the only authentic conservative seeking the nomination. ‘Vote Texas’ then outlines provisions of Dr. Paul’s path-breaking ‘Plan to Restore America’ such as cutting $1 trillion in Washington spending in year one, balancing the federal budget in three years, and eliminating five unconstitutional federal departments.

“Texas has 152 delegates up for grabs on May 29th, keeping the race for the Republican nomination open,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

“Ron Paul is competing hard in his home state of Texas, and we expect that Texas conservatives will reject flip-flopping Massachusetts moderate Mitt Romney and the debt ceiling raising fiscal liberal Rick Santorum. Through ‘Vote Texas’ and the campaign’s other efforts, Texas voters will be reminded that Ron Paul is the only Texan in the race, the only veteran in the race, and the only real conservative in the race,” added Mr. Benton.

Ron Paul Endorsed By Two Louisiana State Republican Central Committee Members

Committeemen from Ascension and Jefferson Parishes declare support for Paul ahead of caucus

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul was endorsed today by Louisiana State Republican Central Committee members Paul Goppelt of Ascension Parish and Wallace Lucas of Jefferson Parish.

In making their endorsements public, Messrs. Goppelt and Lucas issued the following statements:

“For too long, traditional Americans like me have misunderstood Ron Paul and what he stands for. America’s problem is the government. America’s solution is liberty. Once you understand everything that means, Ron Paul becomes the biblical and moral choice for president,” said Paul Goppelt, an Ascension Parish GOP Central Committeeman.

“I believe Ron Paul is a true champion of the Constitution, and the only authentic conservative running for President. He will be a strong voice for all Americans as he moves to restore the institutions that make America the great nation it is. Dr. Paul’s ideas about lowering the corporate tax rate and reducing the government workforce are steps in the right direction,” said Jefferson Parish GOP Central Committee member Wallace Lucas.

“Join me and others, as I endorse and support Ron Paul for President,” Mr. Lucas concluded.

Jefferson Parish is the largest metropolitan area in the state of Louisiana with a population of over 400,000. Ascension Parish, the fastest growing parish in the state, is part of the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Providing a strong boost to Ron Paul’s Louisiana state organization, such endorsements present Ron Paul as the conservative alternative to Mitt Romney. They also demonstrate that the 12-term Congressman from Texas has the only campaign organization capable of maintaining a 50-state competition with the moderate-establishment Romney.

Ron Paul Attracts 3,000-plus Voters to Texas A&M Event

Town hall meeting draws 2,500-plus in speaking venue plus over 500 viewing via live feed in lobby

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul attracted a remarkable 3,000-plus supporters and undecided voters to his Texas A&M town hall meeting tonight. It was the first of three events showcasing Dr. Paul’s characteristic large crowds that the Congressman is holding in his home state this week.

Event organizers noted that the university speaking venue was filled to capacity, necessitating an additional 500-plus to watch the speech via live feed in the lobby.
Dr. Paul’s town hall meeting took place at 7:00 p.m. CST at Texas A&M University’s

Rudder Auditorium – Rudder Theatre Complex, located at the intersection of Joe Routt Boulevard and Throckmorton Street in
    College Station, TX 77840.

At the event, the 12-term Congressman from the Lone Star State’s 14th District spoke about his platform of constitutionally-limited government, the link between civil and economic liberties, and elements of his path-breaking ‘Plan to Restore America,’ a fiscal blueprint designed to launch America out of its economic doldrums.

Pictures of Dr. Paul’s Texas A&M University town hall meeting featuring 3,000-plus people follow.

Christian Leader Calls Santorum Followers to Vote for Ron Paul - Pray and Fast Wednesdays for the USA

Contact: Pastor Steven Andrew, USA Christian Ministries, 877-537-8734

SAN JOSE, Calif., April 11, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- "Many Christians are disappointed that Rick Santorum suspended his campaign, but God still has plans for the USA. By seeking Him we can find His plans," says Pastor Steven Andrew, President of USA Christian Ministries. The pastor calls churches and individual Christians to join him and fast and pray every Wednesday for God's intervention to help the USA.
View release and video message from Pastor Steven Andrew here.

He believes God wants a government and nation after God's own heart.

"After Santorum, then Ron Paul is the most God-fearing Presidential candidate that the Republican party should endorse (Exodus 18:21)," he says. "If Republicans don't give a Christian candidate, Christians should look elsewhere - even to a third party."

"Obama and Romney are the wrong direction for the USA. They serve another Jesus. Romney and Obama aren't Christians even though they want us to believe they are," he explains.

He hopes people understand Romney's heresies. Romney thinks Jesus is a created being, the spirit brother of Lucifer. Christians believe that Jesus is the Second Person of the Godhead, God eternal. Romney also thinks that he will become a God. This is considered evil by Christians. He wants pastors to stand up for God and His Word.

"Obama covered the name and cross of Jesus at Georgetown. Obama believes in leaving living babies to die who survive botched abortions. Obama wants to change George Washington's Christian laws prohibiting homosexual sin. Obama opposes religious liberty. God says turn away from Obama," he explains.

"The USA is heading the wrong direction by voting for non-Christians. Scripture teaches this causes economic decline and threatens religious liberty," he says.

The First Commandment says to love God and in the Ten Commandments it says to have no other God before the LORD. Therefore, he says God calls Christians to vote for Christians.

"If a Christian leader says to support Romney or Obama, don't listen to them. They are going against Scripture," he continues.

"God says Romney and Obama are 'accursed.' Those who vote for them would also be accursed (2Chronicles 19:2)," he adds. Galatians 1:9 says, "if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed."

Christians like that Ron Paul opposes tyranny, would cut the deficit and is prolife.

Pastor Steven Andrew is organizing 1000 pastors to pastor the USA. He is raising funds to buy TV time and to expand. To help support these ministries, see: www.usachristianministries.com/get-america-back-on-track
