RNC to NV GOP: Don’t let Ron Paul delegates take over national convention slots or don’t bother coming to Tampa

In a letter delivered Wednesday to GOP Chairman Michael McDonald, the RNC's chief counsel said if Ron Paul delegates are allowed to take too many slots for the national convention, Nevada's entire contingent may not be seated in Tampa.

John R. Phillippe Jr. said that while his letter is not binding, "I believe it is highly likely that any committee with jurisdiction over the matter would find improper any change to the election, selection, allocation, or binding of delegates, thus jeopardizing the seating of Nevada’s entire delegation to the National Convention."
Clearly, the RNC fears that mischief at the Sparks convention this weekend could result in Ron Paul delegates taking Mitt Romney slots and then not abiding by GOP rules to vote for the presumptive nominee on the first ballot in Tampa. So they are trying to force McDonald to ensure that actual Romney delegates fill 20 of the 28 national convention slots, thus removing any mystery of who they will vote for.

This could be even more fun on Saturday because — and I may be wrong — I don't think these Paul folks respect authority too much. And now the new chairman, who is close to some of the Paul folks, has to be the enforcer.

    Too delicious.

    The letter is at right.

Earth to Fox News, this is nothing new, Reagan tried it in 1976, but hey Fox we know you would have backed and pushed propaganda for Ford over Reagan if you were in existence.

Ron Paul People Playing Mischief With Delegates

Mitt Romney may be the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, but Rep. Ron Paul of Texas is quietly racking up some organizational victories that could complicate Mr. Romney’s anticipated coronation at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla., this summer.

Exploiting party rules, loyalists for the libertarian congressman from Texas in recent days have engineered post-primary organizing coups in states such as Louisiana and Alaska, confirming what party regulars say would be an effort to grab an outsized role in the convention and the party’s platform deliberations.

In Massachusetts, the state where Mr. Romney served as governor, Paul loyalists over the weekend helped block more than half of Mr. Romney’s preferred nominees from being named delegates at state party caucuses — even though Mr. Romney won his home state’s primary with 72 percent of the vote. Many state GOP establishment figures, including longtime state Republican National Committee member Ron Kaufman, won’t be going to Tampa in August as official delegates.

    Daily Paul Liberty Forum

Reading all the mischief happening at local caucuses and conventions, we need to demand a fair playing field or have as our point of negotiation that we will no longer coalesce with the Republican coalition, and mean it! We have a marvelous point of negotiation. If Romney were to get the nomination, the GOP needs the libertarian leaning Republican votes to beat Obama. If the GOP keeps playing dirty or continues to F*%$ around with RP and his supporters, the libertarian leaning Republicans will just vote 3rd Party, or not at all.

I would be happy to pitch in and help pay for a debate between Dr. Paul and Romney.

Ron Paul Attracts 4,000-plus Voters to Fullerton, California Town Hall Meeting

Sole conservative challenger to establishment-pick Mitt Romney engages CSUF and broader community on ways to ‘Restore America Now’

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul continued his pattern of attracting thousands of attendees to his town hall meetings, this time drawing 4,000-plus voters to his California State University at Fullerton campus event.

Tonight’s CSUF town hall meeting took place at 7:00 p.m. PST at the school’s Titan Stadium, located on W. Campus Drive, Fullerton, CA 92831. Dr. Paul spoke to the CSUF and general community about the need for constitutionally-limited government, the bonds that tie economic and civil liberties, and elements of his ‘Plan to Restore America,’ an economic blueprint that cuts Washington spending, reduces the national debt, and curtails the rapid growth of the federal government.

The Fullerton event was the first in a days-long series of campaign events to be held in California. Ron Paul will hold another large on-campus town hall meeting tomorrow at the University of California at Davis and on Friday, he will hold another at the University of California at San Diego. Details of Dr. Paul’s ongoing campaign swing in the Golden State, including information on how to RSVP, can be found here.

Photographs of Dr. Paul’s CSUF town hall meeting with 4,000-plus voters follow.
