Ron Paul wins Minnesota and takes on Romney on his home turf

    Ron Paul

Ron Paul supporters everywhere may have been prophetically chanting when they yelled "President Paul" as the 2012 Presidential candidate not only came out victorious in delegate count in Minnesota but in several other states as well this weekend according to RonPaul2012.com.

Ron Paul, marching to the beat of a different drum by saying he'll cut a trillion his first year in office, turn the lights out on the IRS, among countless other promises he can back up with years of consistent voting has caused hundreds of thousands of Americans to wake up. Those who have joined the throngs, throw off their past "sheeple" behavior, begin by doing their internet homework and march with Paul carrying a torch of liberty and hope toward the red, white and blue aiming to save the dollar and keep the eagle strong in a revolution that surely has left the mainstream media and those not in sync in a quandary.

Despite the mainstream media's BIG misinterpretation and irresponsible reporting last week when many initially said the good doctor was finished, it was a slam dunk for the grassroots organizers in Minnesota as they took 12 out of 13 delegates in the second part of their nominating process for a total of 32 out of 40 overall between the two tier event.

As the revolution army marches around the country busy doing what they do best, winning delegates, surely Mitt RomneyMitt Romney took notice as the Ron Paul freedom fighters stormed the gates of Mitt's home state of Michigan winning some there ensuring Romney could not take all. Delegates were also won for Paul in Vermont as well.

A Ron Paul tsunami consumed Virginia with over half the delegates won for the liberty movement this weekend and a Republican Congressional District Chair voted in by the good doctor's people with a whirlwind of county and city chairs won as well.

The wins by passionate liberty-minded delegates brought Ron Paul's 2012 National Campaign Manager John Tate to state, “Victories in Minnesota and other states demonstrate that Ron Paul supporters possess the adaptability, organizational muscle, and unmatched enthusiasm required to continue winning delegates in upcoming contests." Tate went on to say, “We’re also pleased to see Ron Paul supporters engaged in party-building to broaden the activist and voting base that will advance Republican majorities for many years to come."

Could it be Paul's strategy, "it is all about the delegates" is paying off? If the Ron Paul army continues, it sure looks like the good doctor will be a force to be reckoned with in Tampa at the National Convention this coming August.

    Delegates

    Illinois

Tuesday May 22nd is the LAST day to become a Delegate in ILLINOIS

There may still be vacancies for you to become a delegate for the Illinois Republican Convention on June. If you can spare $50 and the time it takes to make a phone call, you may be able to become one right here and now. Here's a simple to-do list on how you can become a delegate or alternate delegate if there are slots still available to do so. Even if you're not in Illinois or are already a delegate, please spread this to everyone you can.

The first step is to call your county chairman/committeeman, but most people stop there because they don't know where to get that information or what to ask, so we'll start there:

    1) Find the phone number of your county chairman by going here: Illinois Republican Party Scroll down and find your county. The number listed under your county is the one you need to call. If no number is listed, leave a comment and I will try to help.

1a) If you are in a Ward or Township like much of Chicago, then go here: Cook County Republican Party - Newsroom Scroll down and find your township or ward. The number listed under your township/ward is the one you need to call. If no number is listed, leave a comment and I will try to help.

    2) When you call you'll want to ask the person on the other line if you could speak to someone regarding a question you have concerning the state convention in June. The person may need to transfer you to some one else, but when you get to someone who can help you, say "I live in xxxx county/township/ward and was wondering if there are any vacancies available to become a delegate or alternate delegate for the convention in June." They will either answer with yes, no, or only alternates.

    3) If they say yes or only alternates, ask what the person needs from you in order to become one.

    4) Then do the obvious, give them what they need and ask ALL questions you want answered. Here are a few suggested questions to ask

4a) Ask: What do I need to bring with me to the convention to show that I am a delegate?

4b) Ask: What's the best way to contact you if I think of any questions or have an issue in the future.

4c) Ask: What is the address of the convention and what the exact date & time should I get there? (it should be Tinley Park Convention Center 18451 Convention Center Drive Tinley Park, IL 60477 Friday, June 8, 2012 at 9:00 AM - Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 3:00 PM (CT))

All that should be left, other than what the person on the line tells you, is to pay the $50 fee and that's it. If you are still able to become a delegate that's how you do it. They'll have the information you need and those are the questions you should ask. Honestly, it's really not any more complicated than that.

Please post any questions and/or success stories if you are able to become a delegate (I'm curious if this or my other IL post has actually helped someone become a delegate) in the comment section below. Good luck, we need you.

RNC Rule 37 Section (b) Or How We Will Win The 2012 RNC Convention Nomination

Ron Paul Delegates Set to Mount First Ballot Upset at GOP National Convention - Independent Voter Network

Another RNC rule that seems to indicate the primacy of the individual delegate’s preference at the nominating convention is Rule 37, Section (b), which states:

“In the balloting, the vote of each state shall be announced by the chairman of such state’s delegation, or his or her designee; and in case the vote of any state shall be divided, the chairman shall announce the number of votes for each candidate, or for or against any proposition; but if exception is taken by any delegate from that state to the correctness of such announcement by the chairman of that delegation, the chairman of the convention shall direct the roll of members of such delegation to be called, and the result shall be recorded in accordance with the vote of the several delegates in such delegation.”

All delegates from every State that support Ron Paul must make sure that this rule is enforced to the letter.

Another one bites the dust: NJ Tea Party Rebukes Others for Turning To... Ron Paul.

    New Jersey

Just received a copy of a May 21 letter sent out by Morristown Tea Party Org. to its members and affiliated organizations (NJTeaParty.com) - restating its support of Mitt Romney and clarifying that other tea party groups do NOT speak for anyone but themselves. I'll just quote a couple salient points.

"To All Our Friends and Supporters,

It's amazing the political short-sightedness of some "Tea Party" groups. Four of them, in New Jersey, just issued a press release slamming Gov. Romney and backing Ron Paul. Weren't they "with" Cain, then Gingrich, then Santorum before they were against them?...

...our number one goal is to reclaim the White House and that any vote that is NOT for Romney is tantamount to voting for Obama.

    Wise up!"

Found the press release. It's a wonderful statement! Bayshore "Tea Party" Behaving Like Fascist Cult | Conservative New Jersey

It's interesting to see how things evolved. The leader of the Bayshore group was so against Paul that some members severed ties, but apparently then... had a CHANGE OF HEART. Bayshore "Tea Party" Behaving Like Fascist Cult | Conservative New Jersey

Liberty Movement activism IS making inroads among former Santorum supporters.

P.S. Thanks again to all here at the DP who've supplied so many great resources I've been able to pass on to Santorum supporters within my own sphere.

    Ron Paul wins Minnesota delegates

When Ron Paul's campaign stated last week that Mitt Romney's delegate lead was insurmountable, Paul's staff insisted they would continue competing for delegates and cited Minnesota as their next target.

This past weekend, Paul accomplished that goal, winning 12 of 13 delegates at the state GOP convention.

"Victories in Minnesota and other states demonstrate that Ron Paul supporters possess the adaptability, organizational muscle, and unmatched enthusiasm required to continue winning delegates in upcoming contests," Paul campaign manager John Tate said in a statement.

Paul's victory means 32 of Minnesota's 40 national delegates will now be committed to Paul at this summer's Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla. The libertarian-leaning GOP candidate is remaining in the presidential race to compete for delegates in the hopes of shaping the convention and influencing the party platform.

Still, Paul hasn't won any first round presidential nominating contests. His first major victory occurred earlier this month when he won nearly all of Maine's delegates at the state party convention after losing to Romney in the state's February non-binding caucuses.

On Sunday, Paul's campaign noted that they also picked up delegates this weekend in Michigan, Romney's home state, as well as in Virginia and Vermont. Those states were not on the list that chief strategist Jesse Benton considered as winning targets on a phone call last week with reporters. Those states were: Minnesota, Washington, Misssouri, Louisiana and Iowa.

Last week the campaign held a "moneybomb," or 24-hour fundraising blitz, on May 17, but downplayed expectations for this and any future efforts to raise funds due to Paul's decision not to spend any additional money on states that had yet to vote. Expectations are "not particularly high," Benton said.

On Sunday, the campaign used Minnesota's results to promote a new fundraising drive, describing it as the candidate's last. "That's why, if you haven't yet given to what is likely the final money bomb of Ron Paul's political career, [we] hope you will contribute as generously as you can IMMEDIATELY," Tate wrote in a fundraising email.

Romney Fraud at Arizona GOP convention

“They took a bunch of our winners off and then stuck on a bunch of their losers. At first they had a total of 58 elected, most of them were ours. Then it all turned.” – Shawn Dow, Ron Paul State Coordinator.

According to many sources, Ron Paul supporters won a clean democratic majority of the delegates at the recent Arizona State GOP convention but Mitt Romney had an advantage that in the end the Ronulans could not match. Romney had Nathan Sproul, a political operative who was famously accused of voter registration fraud during the last election cycle.

    Read:

“Accused of massive voter registration fraud in several states.”

    More on voter registration fraud.

“Team Bush paid millions to Nathan Sproul and then tried to hide it.”

Remember, the Ron Paul forces were ready to give a majority of the delegates to the Mitt Romney campaign. Nathan Sproul rejected that offer. (See Arizona victory.) Why accept a gift if you can wait and take it violently later?

I warned you about a sealed box that was taken from the State Convention and how the votes were not a done deal. Then there is the manipulation of the numbers of the delegation already voted upon.

Arizona, as a “Mormon State” was moved up early so that party favorite, Mitt Romney, could have a win. As such, it was necessarily punished for breaking GOP rules and its delegate count was diminished.

The Arizona GOP establishment would normally seek to restore Arizona’s full 59 delegates. But since most of the new delegates are Ron Paul supporters, it decided to accept its punishment and keep to the lesser number, where Mitt Romney leads.

But there is so much more. Like 100 ballots that got added when the sealed box was opened the next day. Said Ron Paul coordinator, Shawn Dow, “They took a bunch of our winners off and then stuck on a bunch of their losers.”

    Join the discussion here.

And then, hear about ballot stuffing in Arizona.

    More to come.

Team Bush Paid Millions to Nathan Sproul—and Tried to Hide It

All the payments by the RNC to Sproul add up to a whopping $8,359,161. Where did all that money come from? Why did the RNC suppress their real expenditures? And what exactly did Sproul do for all that pay?
