Obama and Rezko: Is there a Syrian and Islamic Connection?

"It may just be a smattering of coincidental facts whose convergence will be difficult if not impossible to decipher, and these days there are signs that the mainstream media is so solidly behind Barack Obama that it's almost assured they'll never look into this, but there are several items popping up on my radar this weekend relating to Obama and some of his campaign contributors and advisers, and ties back to Syria, Islamic fundamentalism, and the Nation of Islam, that are puzzling enough to put out there for discussion."

No, I never got the email, but I have heard that its true "once a Muslim, always a Muslim".

IMO, this country should never allow Muslims to immigrate here.

I agree!!! I feel sorry for the Muslim people in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. However, there is no way at this point to determine who are the "good" Muslims and who are the "bad" Muslims.

The Muslims in Europe who were trying to blow up those airports, were even doctors!!!

There is just no way of telling at this point. And, we are putting US citizens and our entire country at risk by them being here!!!

Plus, as was pointed out on another site------can Muslims assimmilate and function in Western countries??? I don't think so!!!

Again, take a look at Obama's UN legislation that is about to get pushed through. He will give away a percentage of the USA's GNP to the UN forever.... it will end up funding Muslim Extremeist causes.

Islam is a Political movement, not a religion. There is no way to tell which group one is. Most are extremist. Go sit in on one of their meetings in the USA. We are giving this country away to Muslims, Illegals, etc. It is so sad.

Parents debate Muslim presentation at Porter Lakes Elementary

    BY ELIZABETH HOLMES
    North County Times
    Friday, October 21, 2005

".....Miller touched on another hot issue surrounding the Muslim family -- the creation of a prayer room at the school for the Muslim children, which school officials will not confirm -- and demanded fair treatment for all faiths.

"If they're going to cater to one religion, they better cater to all of 'em," she said and asked for an altar to be added for her Catholic son.

Miller's speech, the first of more than a dozen, garnered an applause and an "amen" from the standing-room-only crowd. In an interview before the meeting, she said, "I'm not prejudiced, but I do have a concern when it comes to Muslim people."

Jamye Matlon, the mother of two children at Porter Lakes, said that religion -- not race -- was the issue.

"You're more than welcome to come to my school, black, white whatever," Matlon said. "But don't start asking for special favors, especially bringing religion into it."

Foot Washing Basins In Muslim Taxi Cabs Triggers Uproar

    Rhonda Erskine
    Created: 9/24/2007
    WLBZ2 News

"INDIANAPOLIS, IN (NBC)-- A proposal to install special foot washing basins for Muslim taxi cab drivers at the new Indianapolis airport is angering one local pastor.

An airport project spokesman says the idea is out of concern for the health and safety of the drivers, but a pastor sees it as state-sponsored religion.

During the Sunday sermon at Hope Baptist Church, Pastor Jerry Hillenburg blasted what he described as a secular government "that is condemning Christianity, lifting its support on the government's dime to the religion of Islam. "

At issue is a wash room which is designed specifically for Muslims to sit down and wash their feet before they pray.

A proposal calls for such a facility to be built in the taxi drivers' lounge at the new Indianapolis International airport, since 80 percent of cabbies are Muslims.

Providing the ablution room, as it's called, goes beyond religious tolerance, said Hillenburg.

"It is the establishment of a religion to take taxpayers' dollars on taxpayers' property and build a building that will support that religious entity during its times of prayer and has simply no other purpose," Hillenburg said."

Debate over religion at Porter Lakes continues

    BY ELIZABETH HOLMES
    Saturday, October 22, 2005
    North County Times

"The controversial prayer room created for two new Muslim children at Porter Lakes Elementary is their right under the law, according to David Emmert, general counsel for the Indiana School Board Association.

The room, set aside by school officials and deemed unfair by other parents, is protected under the free exercise of religion clause in the First Amendment. Legally, schools are required to accommodate religious requirements, Emmert said.

"When they can demonstrate a genuinely held belief that is a requirement of the faith... a bona fide part of their faith, we have to respect that, as long as it does not create a substantial disruption to the school," Emmert said.

However, that does not mean that every religious request must be granted. There is a difference between what a faith requires and what someone's religious preferences are. Parents asking for altars for their Catholic children to pray at, Emmert said, is not the same as a Muslim prayer room."

70 who quit over prayer time return to work
Somali Muslims had wanted to be able to pray at sundown

    updated 5:49 p.m. ET, Fri., May. 25, 2007
    Associated Press

"OMAHA, Nebraska - Dozens of Somali meatpacking workers who quit their jobs because they were not given enough time off for Muslim prayers have returned to work, but the issue could resurface as sundown inches later through the summer, a union official said Friday.

About 70 of 120 Somali workers are back on the job at the Swift & Co. meatpacking plant after abruptly quitting last week. The workers complained that existing break time rules did not let them leave lines to pray at sundown.

Similar requests for workplace accommodations of Muslim religious obligations have become common around the country, says Muslim advocates.

.......Some Muslim cashiers at Target stores in Minnesota were shifted to other positions in March because they objected to handling pork products.

An ongoing dispute also exists among cab drivers who serve Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport — many of whom are Muslim — who refuse to take passengers who are carrying alcohol.

In 2005, 30 workers walked off the job at a Dell, Inc. plant in Nashville, Tenn., after alleging the company refused to let them pray at sunset.

A federal lawsuit brought by nine Somalis against Gold’n Plump Poultry Inc. in October made similar allegations."

Cab drivers upset that airport break room is closed

    January 25th, 2008 @ 10:00pm
Sarah Dallof and Randall Jeppesen reporting
    KSL

"Muslim cab drivers at Salt Lake International Airport are stunned that they've been locked out of the building where they've prayed for years.

The building is owned by the Salt Lake International Airport, which cites "safety and security concerns" for the closure.

Religious tension seems to be playing a part in this. Off camera, several people complained about the Muslims' religious practices, such as washing their feet in the sinks and said they monopolize the building, which had been open to all.

The structure is owned by the Salt Lake International Airport. For the past couple years, it has been open to all drivers as a courtesy. While some use it for prayers, it's also used for meals and breaks, and there are bathrooms and running water.

......Religious debate among drivers isn't just in Utah. There have been protests in several states, including Indiana and Kansas, over airports providing foot baths for Muslims. It's not a debate that's going away anytime soon."
