Exactly. That's why I asked my initial question:

What is the point of this website?
In other words, your only objection to our intolerable immigration policy is that aliens are jumping across the border and violating some law. If they come here legally, they are fine. If they come here legally and commit crimes, they are fine. If they come here legally and bring with them poverty and disease and ignorance, they are fine. If they come here legally and radically change our culture, they are fine. If they come here legally and vote in our elections as a fifth column, as the National Council of La Raza or MALDEF already does, they are fine. If they come here legally and engage in drug trafficking, they are fine. If they come here legally and get on welfare, they are fine. If they come here legally and bankrupt our hospitals, they are fine. If they come here legally and overcrowd our highways and schools, they are fine. If they come here legally and destroy our environment, they are fine. If they come here legally and take jobs from Americans, they are fine.

Gosh, we need more of this legal immigration. The Chamber of Commerce, Bush, McCain, Kennedy, Clinton and so on all agree.

That's essentially what you support, right? If they come here legally, they are fine. It's the manner in which they come here that concerns you, not what they do when they get here, or whether their presence is even desirable.

    Draconis,

We are all very busy today and have little time to play with you. Take some time to explore our mission statement, platform, and associated materials on the main website before you ask all of these questions please.

I oppose illegal immigration and legal immigration. The bottom line for me is this: the United States is being changed in a way that I don't like. I honestly don't care much about the manner in which they come here. In fact, I am more bothered by legal immigration than illegal immigration. Illegals don't have voting rights. The most destructive elements are the ones who already have U.S. citizenship and have no loyalty to this country.

You're "Americans for Legal Immigration," right? Well. I'm not for legal immigration, or more accurately, I don't support legal immigration I find undesirable. That's what the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, George W. Bush, and Ted Kennedy are about.

Not anymore... they have quietly changed their restrictions on immigration "to be more in compliance with the United States."

    Draconis,

In fact to a certain extent you are correct. Have you read In Mortal Danger by Tom Tancredo? He wrote a section on how broken our legal system of immigration is also. It is just as corrupt as every other system of our government seems to be right now.

I have said before the whole immigration process needs to be shut down. Obviously illegal entry needs to be stopped. But just as important our legal immigration system needs to be shut down until it can be fixed. In fact Tom Tancredo has legislation that he has proposed to do just that, to drastically reduce legal immigration for several years until the entire mess can be cleaned up.

I have to look and find the legislation he proposed and will post it here when I find it. I would suggest you read his book if you have not already.

Here is is H.R. 946 Immigration Reduction Act of 2003

Just because they don't have the right doesn't mean that some won't find a way to vote....I mean they made it here and are working and using our systems, ripping off social security, taking advantage....so don't be naive enough to think they won't find some illegal way to vote either.

    Draconis,

Your dreams of No Immigration are very remote. Americans cant even stop the 6,000 more illegal aliens that will cross tonight. Why would you even think that stopping legal immigration is on the political table?

I'm a strong supporter of Tancredo. He is a statesman amongst politicians. You're right. It's not just about illegal immigration. The OBL wants 1.) amnesty for illegals and 2.) radical increases in legal immigration. I am simply in favor of honesty. It's not really "illegal immigration" that Americans find problematic. It's a broken immigration system that is changing our country in various undesirable ways. This system benefits two groups: 1.) the immigrants themselves and 2.) the super rich. If the people jumping across our borders were rocket scientists or brilliant millionaire entrepreneurs, no one would complain, and few people would have any objection to their presence, or even amnesty. That's not the case. Instead, we have hordes of unassimilable immigrants writhing in poverty flooding into the U.S. and bringing with them all the social ills of their own nations. We also have immigrants coming here and throwing Americans into ruthless competition for jobs in an era of declining income mobility.
