Sure enough, the next lead for the story is "controversial local law changes the would target illegals suspected of committing crimes in some georgia towns.

They change the tone of the lead in.

If the newspaper and authors of the stories were bombarded with negative mail, they might get the message as was pointed out by Swatchick.

Short story just on about Senate Candidate Dale Cardwell running against Saxby Chambliss. Cardwell against illegal immigration and was saying voter's are not stupid, while showing a picture of Chambliss and Ted Kennedy.

Cardwell is the underdog, and a former news reporter in Atlanta.

One thing comes to mind is the stories about the Raids. One paper will talk about enforcement and the need... Another will go on about what about the children of the criminal aliens and they just want to work...

Same thing when you set up a 287(g) program.

I suggest looking in the Focus Campaigns where there is a list of a lot of articles for the particular city/county campaign and strat clicking on the articles until you find two conflicting ones you want to write about.

My local news tells about the crime, but always leaves out the description of the criminal. Who or what are we supposed to be looking out for?
