I voted for minimal immigration. As Tom Tancredo has pointed out, we can have what amounts to a moratorium on legal immigration, by admitting 250,000 immigrants a year. Aprroximately 250,000 people who have come here legally, go back to their native countries every year.

This is effectively an immigration time out, and will allow for more recent waves of legal immigrants to better assimilate, and will give us a breather, to determine the future course of legal immigration.

That's the problem, even most legal immgrants use welfare and other handouts and commit more crimes than Americans. Your husband may be a good person but It's not fair to ask us and our children to pay for the majority of them who aren't just because you like living here better. Think about the people who were murdered, the women and children raped because of we imported them in.
    Bettsie,

I actually think you are wrong on this. I truly believe that LEGAL immigrants commit less crimes on average than American born US Citizens.

Legal immigrants have displayed a pattern of lawful behavior on their way into America for the most part. Now, I'm not including illegal aliens that later got some kind of legal status after starting off the wrong way. I'm talking about people that did things the right way from the start.

One study that backs me up on this is a study showing that if you mix illegal aliens with legal immigrants, their crime levels are not that bad.

Now, we know the crime levels with the illegals is very high so therefore the legal immigrant levels must be very very low to offset those numbers.

I do not see people that want to reduce the historic levels of legal immigration levels back down to where we used to be as a nation and as most other nations are as being antagonistic towards legal immigrants at all.

Sure, it means that less people outside of America will get it in but if that is what Americans want then that is what Americans had best get or every warm fuzzy feeling you ever had about American citizens running the show in their own nation goes out the door.

William, They do not commit fewer crimes. I would know, most of the immigrants in my area are legal refugees and they and their children commit henious acts. I know which study you are refering to, it did not say they commit lower crimes. It said they were less likely to be in prison. That's because once they commit a crime they are often deproted before the sentence is comeplted. This s true for legal immigrants as well as illegal. It's a myth that they are more law abiding than Americans.

Read the articles over at FAIR and NumbersUSA , legal immigrants acutally hurt us more than the illegals. They reduce our wages and can legally qualify for welfare and most take advantage of it. Look at Florida and what the Cuban "refugees" are doing to Miami. Tom Tancredo was right when he called it a third world city.

I think that if we resolve the illegal immigration problem, then that will take care of most problems here. Just don't forget that some of the Legal Immigrants are good, hard working people. Sadly, maybe they are few and far between but THANK goodness we were able to be back here. I was getting so homesick living in England.
SORRY BUT JUST BECAUSE MANY IMMIGRANTS ARE NICE IS NOT THE POINT. THERE ARE TOO MANY PEOPLE HERE. WE ARE FLOODED. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. IF WE WANT TO STABILIZE OUR COUNTRY WE HAVE TO HAVE A MORATORIUM ON ALL IMMIGRATION FOR SEVERAL YEARS. THERE ARE PLENTY OF AMERICANS TO FILL ALL THE JOBS...PLENTY. IMMIGRATION SHOULD BE GEARED TOWARDS WHAT OUR COUNTRY AND CITIZENS NEED.....NOT WHAT IMMIGRANTS NEED.

While a majority of our supporters want to see legal immigration levels reduced and ALIPAC already opposes any increases in legal immigration, everyone does need to keep in mind that we have a strong list of LEGAL immigrants that support ALIPAC as volunteers and contributors.

We have given them an organization that carries their voice into this debate.

Legal immigrants that value American principles and did things the wrong way are livid about illegal immigration and their voices and assistance have been vital to our efforts.

I think that many of our Legal immigrant supporters are aware of the growing sentiments against the current legal immigration levels.

What I need to do next is survey our legal immigrant supporters and pick their brains on how they feel about this poll.

i voted for much lower legal immigration levels. I would also like to see the temporary gustworker visa program suspended while we are in a recession. Legal immigration should not be stopped, but only reduced by say half.

I agree with this. I would like to see a five year moratorium on all immigration to assimilate the millions and millions who have come here over the years from the Third World. Then we can allow in a reasonable more traditional number of legals.

Looks like the poll has the most votes in the minimal, much lower, or stopped areas....
2022 total there versus total 3018 votes cast.
Does this poll stop duplicate voting??? So, one vote is all? You don't want the poll to be skewed because of duplicate votes is all I am saying.

After reading your post, I attempted to vote again. My vote was not acknowledged (count remained the same).
