Who is in control?
Don't forget the worthless jackass in the treason house also diverted 58 million dollars originally earmarked for senior medicaid/medicare funding to illegal alien health care. And he has convened secret panels to find ways to cut VA funding and other benefits for Americans. He will screw his own citizens to ensure the comfort of his Latino brothers and sisters He must go.
1. Iraq mess
2. Immigration mess
3. New Orleans still unprepared for 2006 hurricane season
4. "Loss" of my and other veterans data to drug cartels and illegal aliens
5. Just being jackasses and wastes of taxpayer dollars
INVESTIGATE AND IMPEACH BUSH NOW!!!!!!!
THE SENATE: The most corrupt institution money can buy!!!!!!!

I'm still baffled as to how this legal system works when all these people are doing things you and I would be locked up for, for even thinking.wonder, if all laws are being broken to favor illegals, why shouldn't we, the American citizens, make our own laws and kick these people out of our countryJoin our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Minnesota held a two day thing to get as many signed up as possible. People there were suppose to help explain it etc. I remember they reported it ran none stop for two whole days, there were so many seniors who didn't understand it.
Plus when it all came out and the change was made Minnesota has thousands who were rejected at the pharmacy. Government glitch. Minnesota had to pull out state funds to pay for everyone's meds because the new program was so messed up. Government was suppose to reimburse them, don't know if they did or not but I know this went on for nearly a year. It was a nightmare.

MOM
My mom is 87, has Alzheimer's Disease, and I cried when our city vote happened this year, and I COULD NOT in good conscience let her vote. It would have been wrong and immoral, since she no longer knew the candidates, platforms, etc. I had to get a friend to take her to lunch, so I could vote, without having her humiliated. I refuse to have her treated with less than full dignity. The last time she voted, she was aware it would be her last time, and it was so important to her that she had me take a picture at the polling place sign. SHE NEVER MISSED A VOTE, AND ALWAYS HAD ON AN AMERICAN FLAG PIN.
She was such a GREAT CITIZEN, involved in schools, started the gifted program down here, grandmother & treasurer to our church, volunteered for many worthwhile charities, was treasurer of a Savings and Loan and demanded that it stay on the straight and narrow. Her reputation in the Auditing community, Fed., state and private, was that they could drop in at any time, and find that everthing was above board, 'to the penny' and that anyone in the organization who wanted to try something illegal was quickly fired and reported.
This brilliant and beloved mom is now total care. I did get her covered with the MED D., because it does matter... and as you know, the gov't is going to FINE these poor souls, the later they sign up. So please sign up, even if you don't need it now, nor even if you don't WANT to need it. You don't know what'll happen in the future.

Which is what we should be concentrating on instead of legislating for invaders. Take care of OUR OWN and then if there is any good will, help others. It's almost as if our senate has gotten bored with doing what they were hired to do so they've decided to spice it up.I am old, will go on Medicare in August - and I am thoroughly confused about it.
I don't blame any one who refused/delayed to sign up for the medical fiasco. The deadline is just to force people to accept it. The mere fact that they are using cooercion shows you that it's not in our best interest. Of course they'll use some excuse about knowing how many sre signing so they can pennyanny us to death. The senate grovels at the feet of Laraza but our citizens who have worked and earned and saved our freedoms are treated to the 'bums rush'. Sorry nntrixie and everyone, I certainly would never intentionally demean grandparents. We are NOT a nation of immigrants!

06-03-2006, 07:27 PM #17Didn't think you were. But it is an attitude held by many for our elderly. That's one thing this society hasn't grown to do yet. Respect for our elderly. Or to atleast live with dignaty. I worked in a retirement community/home in Florida that was wonderful. Independant to full care facility. Granted it was a for profit facility.....but it was great. They showed the utmost respect for each and every person even if they were basicly unconsious and bed ridden. Then when I had the nightmare here of checking places out for my mom......my eyes were opened to a different world. I wouldn't put my dog in one of these places. I have never seen such cruel treatment. It's definatly not an easy job to care for alot of these people but what I saw was unforgiveable. After that experience and with all the cuts and such they've done since.....I hope I never have to spend my last days like that. Shame you have to get old before your eyes are open to alot of this. The deadline is just to force people to accept it. The mere fact that they are using cooercion shows you that it's not in our best interest. Of course they'll use some excuse about knowing how many sre signing so they can pennyanny us to death. I know I'm probably in better shape than my parents were at my age, but it's slipping quickly for sure.

Oh, Indiana, I was joking. No offense taken.
I also understood what you were trying to say.

OH but nntrixie,
Remember that our experience gives us a wisdom, a viewpoint that can actually see situations in a much clearer manner. Then we can help guide the young'uns.
Was that deep enough for you!?
