Thread: Should we activate our network to oppose the bail out?

We are bailing out Modern day RobberBarons and nothing more. I want to see an independent investigation, Federal Indictments handed down, personal assets seized. If it were up to me , i'd bestow a wrath on them that would make the french revolution look like a day in the park.

One thing I do believe is, we can blame the greed of lenders to allow so many people to have loans who should not have qualified for them, including illegals. We know a lot of these foreclosures have to have been made to people who shouldn't even be in our country. So for now we ought to put emphasis on that part imo.

I am not for the bail out of greedy banks but I do believe your advice is right Jean. It is a very thin line and I believe caution is advised.

I fear we're seeing the preliminary steps which will drag us into the NAU. I think we need to literally go for broke on this thing. Ironically, taking the hit from this crisis now rather than later might just save our nation. Those who've given their lives for their country must really be disappointed that we'll give up our country to keep from suffering tight credit? Why should the granchildren pay for this mess? What are we doing?

This bailout is what Socialism is all about and we're heading there fast. We will be under the control of our government even more. This bailout hands over more power to an already powerful government. This bailout is a dangerous move for the American people, in my opinion. Unless the CEOs are made accountable for their thieving ways, it's all for naught. Some of the economists I've been listening to have said this is just the beginning. We're in for a rough ride, folks. This is one of those "damned if you do and damned if you don't" situations.

I think now is a good time to pressure Congress and our candidates that any talk of amnesty would be unacceptable under the economic stress this country's going through. Not only can we not afford an amnesty plan or more visas, unemployment is rising and every available job should go to an American. This would be a good time to push for mass deportation of illegal aliens, because this country cannot afford to support them any longer.

If ALIPAC gets involved in this bailout mess, it should begin with the premise that these bundled mortgages should be unwrapped and examined with a microscope as to who that is here illegally got loans. (After all, you can easily default on your mortgage if ICE has you in the lockup to be deported.) The bailout should only extend to the portion of the portfolio where the borrower is at least a legal citizen. A bank bundles and sells the mortgages it originated where 10-20 percent of those creditors are illegal, the bank should have its bailout money reduced by that percentage.
With banks it has been nothing but keeping stockholders happy with rising profits, and keeping top management happy with their pay and bonuses. A friend of mine was dealing on behalf of her real estate clients with Wells Fargo, some of whom got ARMs without her advice (she has refused to ever deal with no-docs). She wanted to get these folks into fixed rate loans, but Wells Fargo refused to even consider a re-fi of any sort. With continually rising interest rates some are in danger of choosing between making the mortgage payment or eating. And this is just plain greed by Wells Fargo not to consider refinancing.
An ARM with a teaser rate of 6-7% is suddenly at 11-12% does not guarantee the bank will continue to receive the income that looked so good on paper.
The American people do not have enough money to bail out the fluffy clouds of future profit for all the banks. Unfortunately, we cannot let the banks fail as even those without mortgages or loans will be seriously affected.

Damn straight we should use the network on this. This is our future, this is our lives here. These empty suits have no right using our tax dollars to bail out these corporate gangsters who ran their businesses into the ground. We need to demand accountability and responsibility because if we let these empty suits have their way, not one CEO will spend a minute in jail, not one CEO will lose a dime. This is welfare for the ultra rich and I for one will not have any of it. Not only should these CEO's have their assets seized and be spending time in jail, but the politicians who did this to us should be sharing a cell with them and have their assets seized as well. I'm serious, I'm sick of this crap.

Not only should we express our outrage, but we need to make heads roll. This is the ultimate form of taxation without representation. Enough is Enough!!! We need to take back our country and it starts right now. No amnesty for illegals, no amnesty for corporate thugs. I want our laws enforced and I want them enforced NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW!!!!

You know they are just picking a number, now 700 billion, but is it really the 2 and 3 trillion mentioned several times today by others. (one person was Janet Tavakoli on Fox Business).

Who knows what the real truth is and yet it looks like the ones who have been making money will still have an opportunity to make money and we the people get stuck with their bad choices. This is like the illegal immigration issue. The employers, Chamber of Commerce, corporations, etc. profit and then the people pick up the tab for illegal alien bad mortgages, their health care and education and incarceration etc.

What's funny (not) is that all of the groups still want more of their bad choices to be accepted by the American people.

I don't know the answer. I'm so sick of it all. Taxed to death- and for what? To make sure illegal alien anchor babies get an education in public school while I keep my kids OUT of public school and teach them at home so they don't come home one day with a "global" mindset? To pay for the health and well being of illegal aliens and their anchor babies through Medicaid while my family simply does not go to the doctor because we can't afford health insurance? To make sure illegal aliens have good and straight teeth while I struggle to pay for dental visits for my kids? To keep illegal aliens and their anchor babies bellies full of good food thanks to taxpayer funded food stamp cards while my family works hard for a good garden crop so we can put it away because we can't afford to buy too much at the supermarket? Now the idiots in Washington want me to pay even more to bail out greedy investment banks because they were stupid enough to give mortgage loans to illegal aliens who have 15 names and ID's to back them up? Who either get busted by ICE or just decide one day not to pay their mortgage anymore so they don't ? And let's not forget the greediest of them all- the Executives with the big corner offices, multi million dollar annual paychecks and multi million dollar bonuses on top. Screw them. Let me not leave out the boneheads in Congress who are up to their elbows in the whole mess. We KNOW they profited from the banking industry's greediness or things wouldn't have gone this far. Now Hank Paulson wants us to BAIL OUT FOREIGN BANKS? Well, if that ain't the cherry on top I don't know what is. I am so angry. This makes me even more angry than comprehensive immigration AMNESTY. It's a punch in the face to EVERY AMERICAN TAXPAYER. If the masters of the universe can do this to us, they can do anything. ANYTHING. It doesn't even matter anymore who sits in the White House or the U.S. Congress. They are ALL dirty. Money is the ONLY thing they understand. If this bailout doesn't convince AMERICAN TAXPAYERS that it's waayy past time for a "Kiss My Taxed To Death Ass" note to the IRS when their hands are out in April 2009, then we deserve what we get.

I believe we should expend our energy on fighting illegal immigration. But of course this would include the aspect of the bailout that pertains to illegal aliens and bad mortgages etc.

I don't want to bail out the thieves so I am calling the Congress and tell them no bail out. This whole thing happening just before the election is predictable.

Obama is blaming all the crooks (his friends) on Wall Street when he was getting his pockets lined by those very crooks.

Chris Dodd and Barney Frank fought regulations and are criminals that we need to have investigated along with many other Ceos and have arrested to start.
